If there were 0 stars I'd log that in. Took 2+ weeks to get an appointment, despite my saying I was in considerable pain. Took almost 3 hours to do X-rays and a teeth cleaning, this should have taken 1 hour, tops. Said I needed 4 root canals and 1 tooth extraction, costing (after Insurance) upwards of $10,000. In addition they advocated that I NEEDED a deep clean and a bunch of other nonsense costing another few hundred dollars. I went to a second dentist, Fox Family Dentistry in Springfield, VA. They got me in within 48 hours. Turns out I needed only one root canal and had a couple of MINOR cavities. After insurance this cost about one tenth of what Reflection wanted to charge me. This establishment is out to make money, not help patients. I get the feeling they blatantly lied to me in order to make money. I would never return or recommend anyone go there. read more

I've never been a fan of going to the dentist due to fear factors like most people I'm sure but now that's has all changed. Thanks to Dr Abdeen and his friendly and professional staff. They provided me the most positive care, quality technical dental treatments and most of all, THEY CARED. I also observed with each and every visit, your dental office environment is very clean and inviting. A passing grade by all means, A+++++. I would never go back here. I made an appointment for an initial visit and when I showed up 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment, they informed me that they had canceled my appointment because I did not return their phone call to me the day before to confirm the appointment. I explained that I hadn't received the message (found out later that my husband inadvertently forgot to tell me about it). I had taken time off work to get there, the waiting area was empty, and still they refused to see me. I was FURIOUS. They were not accommodating at all. I will NEVER go back there. Not a good experience. Just moved to town and went in to have a cracked molar looked at. This dental clinic is simply a process to take your money. Before I left my previous home in Kansas, I had my dentist take xrays and photos of my teeth for the express purpose of sharing with the new dentist in Virginia. Was told at Reflection that I'd need all new xrays, photos, etc. to the tune of over $300 (they wouldn't use my dentist's xrays). Was pressured for teeth cleaning (had it done a month before) and whitening, plus was shown a brochure for gum cancer that was nothing more than a scare tactic for more money. I turned it all down, but did get the xrays done. The pressure continued: a crown for my cracked molar was listed at $1700, plus the dentist recommended that I consider teeth straitening as he claimed I was grinding my teeth... which I don't. The hygenist alerted me to gum problems she thought I had, and suggested more money to clear this up. It should be noted that I am 51 years old, have one filling in my entire mouth, straight teeth, all my wisdom teeth in with no problems, and with white strong teeth and firm gums. I do not smoke, and have brushed and flossed religiously since I was a kid. The most tragic portion of the visit was, when I was already $300+ into the game, and staring at around $2800 more for crown and ancillary work, the dentist sent in the receptionist to talk about payment options (I normally pay the full amount in cash, so I'm not interested in payment options). I'm suspecting that because I was a man, that this woman was sent to discuss payment options. I hate to sound unkind, but there is a word for a woman like this... she was dressed in a miniskirt and lowcut blouse, and while discussing money options (which I'd made clear that I wasn't interested in) she kept crossing and uncrossing her legs and leaning into the dentist's chair where I sat. It's tragic enough when a woman in her late 40's dresses like this, but to dress that way in a professional environment, and use these "charms" to flippantly discuss my giving up half a month's pay is a little over the top. To end the story, I flew back to Kansas on business, and had my dentist there put a crown on my molar for $700, plus got a clean bill of health... my dentist couldn't find gum problems, or any signs of wear due to teeth grinding. That's my experience, and I won't go back. If this was what a man in his 50's gets, I can only imagine how they hook the parents of a 13 year-old kid who needs braces, or someone who needs a root canal... read more

I REGRET EVER STEPPING FOOT IN DR. ABDEEN'S OFFICE! First and foremost, Dr. Abdeen is a thief. He thumps up oral conditions to rob you of money. He claimed that my mother had gum disease so she paid over $400 (for one side of her mouth) to take care of it while her previous dentist never mentioned gum disease nor did my mother ever feel she had any symptoms of it. He told her to come back to treat the other side of her mouth for another $400--she refused. As for my story--I visited Dr. Abdeen's office in June 2014 for a cleaning and routine checkup. I would have gone to my regular dentist but I was going to age out of my mother's insurance, my previous dental insurance had expired, and he was an in network dentist. When I went for this routine checkup, Dr. Abdeen told me I had 4 cavities. My regular dentist, who is amazing, had never mentioned these cavities on my bi-yearly visits. So I have a strong feeling some of those "cavities" were not the type to drill out. Dr. Adbeen seems to do whatever he can to take as much money as he can from you in one visit. Dr. Abdeen also told me he wanted to extract my wisdom teeth. He was going to do all these procedures on the SAME DAY! I refused this. From there, I was suspicious of him and questioned his competency. I should have gone with my gut feeling. I was concerned about those "cavities" he mentioned so I agreed for have him fill them. During the filling he had to numb me OVER 4 TIMES! He just couldn't get it right. Mind you, I have had a number of fillings done by my regular dentist and numbing me has never been an issue. Dr. Abdeen was able to fix 2 teeth on the top row without any issues then he began doing the bottom 2. I started feeling PAIN and told him I was not numb enough so he numbed me again. Still, the pain was pronounced. Can you believe this man told me to allow him to finish the drilling if I could "stand the pain?" I allowed him to finish to much of my dismay. He began on the last tooth, but the pain was too intense so I flinched. At this point, he began getting annoyed with me. The nerve of this incompetent man! He gave me two options: (1) to allow him to continue and bear the pain, or (2) have him numb me again. He advised me that he was almost finished and it would be best for have him drill the cavity out as soon as possible. At the same time, he told me that too much anesthesia may cause my heart to react in an adverse way. I told him to proceed without the anesthesia as I was trying to be cooperative/listen to the advice of a doctor. About 2 seconds into the drilling I pulled back and told him to stop immediately. I could not handle the pain. He seemed annoyed. And I was enraged that he would be annoyed at my feeling pain! Not to mention his assistant was splashing water all over my face, did not seem to have a good handle on how to control my tongue or hand over the devices-- just lacked overall confidence in what she was doing. About 3 months later (September 2014), I got my original dental insurance figured out, so I went to my regular dentist to take care of that last cavity (which was the only cavity I believe was an actual cavity). My regular dentist was able to me numb very easily on the FIRST TRY and I felt no pain! That is why I am writing this review. Dr. Adbeen is an incompetent, arrogant, unethical thief who cares nothing about his patients. He's also very disrespectful! And in my opinion, his prices are exorbitant as a way to steal money from uninformed patients. You've been warned. read more

He is very thorough, he and his staff are very nice, and the office is very modern and clean. Yeah, I should have heeded the warning on yelp. I went in to get a molar repaired after biting into a piece of candy. Expensive and the amount of x-rays they take is pointless. they are excessive when it comes to price and their procedures are also there to reach into your pockets. A warning to those who are going to this dentist, be prepared to dish out a lot of $$. I come from California and the doctors there don't charge nearly as much as these guys. read more

Dr. Abdee is maybe a good dentist. But not a good professional. Every time I went to his office he has to make me wait for long periods of time. For instance my appointment is at 11. I get seen at 1145. They are always running late. The other day I took my dad to get a quote and maybe some prescription for his pain. But dr abdee didn't seen very concern about the pain instead he was worried about his sales pitch and how he could get 1500 from us. Even thou my dad was in extreme pain Dr. Abdee refused to give him strong medications for his pain. He said he usually charges extra for prescription. NEVER going back again!! read more

I'm surprised at such negative reviews! I got a groupon and came here for a cleaning package. The hygienist who cleaned my teeth was amazing. I forgot her name but I told her she should have gotten her dds. The dentist is just ok, he did tell me I had 5 small surface cavities that I should take care of (that I declined). They also did encourage me to get invisalign but I had asked abt it, it wasn't "pitched". I went back 6 months later for another cleaning, this time they only found 2 "small surface cavities". Since I don't have dental ins I'm not about to spend money on something that I don't absolutely need, so I again refused. If I needed major work tho, I'd go somewhere else based on some of these reviews and the fact that I went from 5 cavities to 2 within 6 months. That's shady. read more

I made an appointment to try this dental office. They called me and left a message confirming my appointment. The next day, they left another message, simply saying, "We're calling to confirm your appointment." The message did not say I was required to call back to confirm to them. When I showed up (15 minutes early) to my appointment the next day, the waiting area was empty. The receptionist looked at me as if she wasn't expecting me. When I told her I was here for my appointment, she looked bewildered and asked my name. "Oh, we left two messages for you, but you didn't call us back, so your appointment was canceled." You've got to be kidding me! I explained that I was never told I needed to call back. It didn't matter to her. It was too late. I said, looking around the lobby, "You called me yesterday and must've canceled my appointment after that, maybe even today. There's no one here now. Are you saying I can't be seen?There's no one here who can see me?" She said, "You'll have to reschedule." I couldn't believe that I took time off work, and for a first time patient they wouldn't see me even though I was early for an appointment that THEY canceled because I didn't call them back - and there were no other patients there. They are on my black list. But the good news out of all this: it led me to discover a great dentist, Dr.Lanzaro. Poo-poo on Reflection Dental! read more

This place is terrible! First of all, they made me wait past my scheduled appointment time. But most importantly, I went in there because i received a flyer saying they had a xray, cleaning and checkup package for less than $100. They x-rayed my teeth, which was the most uncomfortable x-rays i've ever gotten done at any dentist. Then they came back and told me I had gingivitis and would be needing deep cleaning and that I would have to be be charged $5,000, but with their special plan I would only have to pay $1,000, like they were doing me a favor or something. First of all, I knew I didn't have gingivitis, so I flat out told them. I asked the person who took my x-rays if I didn't want anything done right now would I have to pay. She said no, you don't have to pay anything if you leave now. Yet when i tried to leave, they said I had to pay $20 for my x-rays. I said I would pay for them but that I want a copy of them. The lady at the front desk tried to refuse me my x-rays and was incredibly rude and upset that I decided not to get any service, but I told her if I was paying for them that I want a copy. I went to two different dentists after this (one was an orthodontist) and asked them if I had gingivitis. They both said no. I asked if I should get deep cleaning and they both said I shouldn't. I ended up getting the cleaning and check up done at Fairfax for $70!! I didn't have any cavities and my teeth were fine. Reflection Dental is a bunch of con artists. read more

My girl friend went in for the first time, she was interested in getting Invisalign. They said, it's required to pre check for any issues before getting Invisalign. After snapping some x-rays and noting she had 4 cavities which needed to be fixed immediately prior to Invisalign. She made the appointment and went in, once they began removing her cavities, they apparently noted "7 additional" cavities which also needed to be removed. Not to mention, they injured her gums in the process. It took a total of 3 visits to remove all 11 cavities and on each visit she was over charged an extra $261!!!! We've emailed them explaining these over charges and pending a refund. AVOID them at all cost, they're out to UPSELL. Staff is not professional and competent. The wait time is ridiculous. Wish I had come across these reviews before, wouldn't be surprised if they run out of all clientele soon. read more

Dentist very unprofessional, he rushed through the cleaning ( which he decided to do himself after waiting for 1 hour for the hygenist) and made me bleed and hurt my gums. He found 2 surface cavities but i go to my regular dentist every 6 months and they have never found any cavities ( I went to this office bc my reg. dentist did not have any openings before my previous dental insurance lapsed). D. Abdeen, also performed a small sugical procedure to my daughter that I had to follow up with our regular dentist as an emergency basis, they were surprised Mr. Abdeen had not sutured the wound and food was stuck inside. NEVER WILL WE GO back!!!! This office and the Dentist are out for money in any way they can....very unethical. read more

Dentist here seems either highly incompetent or highly unethical. My wife was told that she had 7 cavities and they all needed treatment right away. We were surprised because she never had much problems with th previous dentist. So she refused to get them treated and she eventually went to another dentist who told her that her teeth are in great shape and no cavities! Unbelievable!! read more

The Dentist was excellent and staff were really good. I know because I had one of my teeth extracted! This is one of the most complex challenges a dentist has to do. I neglected a bit my friends (teeth) and I lost one. The tooth was my friend for many years. It was hard to part with the tooth. After a couple of confirmations the tooth had to meet the tooth Fairy. Unfortunately at my age you really don't want to have to see the tooth Fairy I am only 40. Dr. Abeen was extremely knowledgeable and explained in detail the process. When it came to do the extraction the procedure went very well. The Dentist helped minimize the anxiety with the Nitrous oxide. If your ever going to have a major procedure and you have anxiety like I do. Take the Nitrous it calmed my nerves the Dr. gave me some head phones and music and did his procedure. Before I knew it I was done. Luckily I am healing now much better and ready for my implant in a month. I learned the hard way to floss and brush more. Thank you Dr. Abdeen and your staff for making such a difficult time much better. read more

I am terrified of dentists. First of all, I am deaf, but read lips. I remove hearing aids to lower the sound of the drills, but it is very scary for me. I also had a palate expander to widen my mouth when I was a teenager. It was needed before They could put braces on my upper teeth. While wearing the palate expander, my mother had to crank it every night. It was horrible. The worst was that while wearing the expander, my step father hit my right jaw and it broke my jaw on the left side (it's okay now, he has apologized and paid for additional orthodontics required due to the broken jaw, sure, that was court ordered, but the honest apology 10 years later was sincere). So fast forward 10 more years and I had to have radiation treatments that almost completely killed my saliva glands making my beautiful teeth a horrible mess. I called a dentist to make an appointment and literally get so terrified that I hang up. I did this for 3 months while living with tooth pain. When I called this office, I started by giving my back ground, allowing her to say "go somewhere else PAHLEEZE" only she didn't. She promised to hold my hand for the entire treatment so she could say what was said while they had masks on so I could read her lips. My broken filling went from worst to dear God, I've had enough already. But still she stayed. I went for a filling repair that was a huge filling and already painful and thought I'd probably need a root canal. He did need to do the root canal but after a 2 hour procedure, he said I didn't have enough actual tooth and he feared it wouldn't stay. I could see the problem on the X-ray. He took away my happy gas and had me sit up while he explained. He didn't have to. It was bad. My options were 1 pull tooth and make a bridge, but the tooth next door was really iffy already. The other was an implant. The cost alone made me cry. We called my husband and the dentist and receptionist spoke to him regarding the treatment plan. We continued with extraction and implant. I was there in a chair from 11-7 and they were all there for me. I can honestly say that I will go back because they treated me with love. Me...palette expander, broken jaw, deaf and cancer that ruined all my teeth. Terrified per usual and I will absolutely go back to finish all of my teeth. Cancer sucks but this dentist practice most certainly does not. And that's a lot coming from me! read more

My family did a military move to the area one year ago and was looking for a dentist for annual check ups. We found Reflection Dental in a flyer that was offering a free teeth whitening kit. We decided to try them. Oh my, what a messed up dentist this is! I took my wife and two kids in. After the x-rays I was told by the female dentist that we had 26 cavities between the three family members. Even my 18-year-old who had never had a cavity in her life was told she had nine cavities and that we needed to schedule to get fillings done right away. They also wanted to do $1500 of dental work on my wife saying she needed to have fillings and a root canal done. We were devastated! I just about panicked, then I went and researched the company and found this company had a terrible reputation from years past with grossly exaggerating dental work that didn't really need to be done. I decided to send my daughter and my wife to a different dentist that was highly rated (Sonrisa in Springfield). You can imagine my relief when the 2nd dentist looked at the very same x-rays and said my daughter only needed one filling and that my wife only need $90 of dental work to be done. I have learned from this experience to NEVER go to a new dentist without checking ratings first. Reflection Dental talks nice to your face and then tries to rob you blind by exaggerating and lying about what work actually needs to be done. They should be ashamed of themselves and should be shut down for fraud!! read more

DO NOT WALK! RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! This is not a dental clinic, it is a sales pitch. I responded to a coupon for $59 cleaning and did not receive it, not even a floss! The hygenist spent three minutes in my mouth. Anyone that knows what even a basic cleaning is knows that it takes at least 30 to 45 minutes. No polishing of the lower teeth, nothing. Once more, when I told them I wasn;t happy they tried to write me off. I called their Corporate office, Heartland, and had my $59 refunded! It took quite a fight to get it refunded. Also reported them to the BBB in Lorton, the Va Licensure Board (dentists and hygenists) and the Chamber of Commerce. I told the receptionist she should be ashamed to work for a place like this that tried to take advantage of people that already don't have a lot of money for necessary dental care. Truly pathetic lack of professionalism on their part and the dentist, ABDEEN, should be ashamed for allowing his name to be connected to this "sales pitch" office. read more
