Can't say enough good things about refer cleaning. I have lived in Manhattan 16 years. Through the years I have used numerous amounts of cleaning people as well as companies. I can confidently say that Refer Cleaning is hands down the best cleaning service in Manhattan, and by far the most professional. I loved the organization of their service. I can easily make appointments online and get charged directly to my credit card. I get reminder emails that I am scheduled for a cleaning. The day of my cleaning I got a reminder text message. After the cleaning I got pictures of how clean my apartment looked. I couldn't be happier and will be referring them to everyone! read more

I live in California and needed a NYC company to clean my apt before I moved in there. I contacted them to set up an appointment. Refer is the best cleaning company I have ever used. I was so happy with the job they did. Jonatan is reliable and gives you the best service for the price. I highly recommend. read more

I usually clean my own place. I've always been hesitant when it comes to hiring cleaning services. I never really see much difference compared to when I clean. However, I will gladly say that refer cleaning changed my mind. I couldn't do what they did in my home. John the owner came fully equipped with a vacuum and cleaning supplies. What really blew me away was that he did a walk through prior to the cleaning to see what my preferences are. He then did the same at the end just to make sure he didn't miss anything and that my preferences were met. He also used brand new rags that he unwrapped in front of me. Very detailed and I would highly recommend them. If you decide to do a deep clean make sure you ask for John. read more

This is my first time making an account & using Yelp. Overall, my using Yelp's service was positive. This comment from Jon of Refer Cleaning is awful & sounds desperate, all because of a negative review. Your response is full of personal attacks & falsehoods, not misrepresentations, but lies. You did not do the job as promised & didn't rate 5 stars, although you took the money ($500 in cash)! You ruined your 5-star rating! I reported it to Yelp who now has an ongoing file! I don't know how you could report me before the service. I was a new Yelper! You blamed Yelp for not investigating me before the service! Unfortunately, I didn't notice that you did NOT have a Yelp guarantee! Refer Cleaning was not the only biz in NY with over 50 reviews & a 5-star rating, as you claim, saying my motives & "sole purpose" were to destroy 5-star rated services! NO evidence of that! Yelp initially contacted services for my project, not me, & referred 5, 2 which were 5-star cleaning services! The service I hired to clean up the mess after Refer was CLEANY, a 5-star with over 280 reviews! They can attest to what they saw & had to do after the new Pro arrived! It was just 1 Pro, 3 hours! I didn't go over the work more closely, although I did point out a few things, one being the dust on the Chinese screen in the BR! Jon & his helper M, left my home half wiped down (read the review post) with floors smeared & dirty in many places. After you returned my calls on 11/10 @ 9:12pm, you refused to correct the problem about the floors particularly, and instead, said I was "chasing you down"! What an inappropriate response to a customer who left messages saying they had problems with the service, especially after giving you a $96 tip!! You did not mention a law suit filing during your return call. You are behaving in a dangerously vindictive manner, because of a negative service review. After I posted a review on 12/4/23, you called me the evening of 12/4/23, using a spoofed, disconnected number (which is in my records & I gave to you, but am not supposed to put here) & threatened me saying you were filing a sexual harassment suit for biceps touching & sexual remarks! I immediately called Yelp after hanging up on your threatening call .. scary! Then, I called your mobile and I told you I reported your threatening call to Yelp! Here are some of your lies, & there are more .. LIE: I did not sexually harass you or make sexual remarks while you were cleaning?! Please say what those remarks were! I am a mature senior citizen & certainly didn't find this little man sexually attractive. LIE: You did not "leave immediately for your safety", as you wrote. You & your helper M, (who you seem to forget was there), remained until after 4 pm. You left together after attempting to clean my front door! I say attempt because I went back and cleaned what you said couldn't be cleaned! LIE: You said I didn't confirm an appointment, which I did with the cost quote totals & my address, & can be found on the Yelp email! You didn't just decide to show up because I didn't respond, as you falsely claimed. We spoke & rearranged for another day, 11/10 instead of 11/9, all recorded. LIE: I did not open the door with a bottle of cognac or any liquor in my hand; and I don't drink cognac. LIE: I did not try to put liquor in your pocket. I offered it as a gift to you, which you refused, and pistachio nuts to your helper, who didn't refuse! You should be ashamed of yourself for this dirty, desperate attempt to smear me personally & cover up your less than good clean, and there were 2 of you! I, and my lawyer (as advised by Yelp), are now waiting for your legal paperwork, with proof, regarding "BicepsGate"! I updated the stars only because you did vacuum up most of the dust & extermination powder on the floors which was why I paid extra for the HEPA vacuuming of the floors ($75/hr for 2 hours - $150). Caveat Emptor - Let the buyer beware! :( My mother used to tell me, "if a person will lie, they will steal!" read more

This review is for my first experience with Refer Cleaning. I will use their services again and will update this review with every use. My first experience was great. Jonatan was easy to communicate with and accommodating to my schedule and requests. The two ladies assigned to my property were pleasant and did a nice job. They were very open to my requests during the final walk through to clean the very few remaining areas. Jonatan also was in contact during cleaning which was nice. All in all a great experience and I recommend them to my friends and will use them again. read more

I hired Refer Cleaning to do a deep clean of my apartment. They were very responsive about quotes and quickly connected me with Leticia, who was absolutely fantastic! Leticia was responsive, courteous, and extremely thorough! She listened to what I wanted and did an excellent job! Absolutely will be using them again and requesting her specifically! read more

1 million stars. We reached out to every cleaning service Yelp has to offer and Refer is the only one that responded late night before services were needed and offered us a reasonable quote for a 'move in' clean. We had an empty 2 bdrm that needed a ton of TLC before we had movers come in the next morning. Jonathan worked with us to coordinate everything and we were blown away by how immaculate the place looked afterwards. Every corner, every inch, every nook and cranny sparkled, the attention to detail was stellar. We've used cleaning services in the past from word of mouth referrals and there is just no comparison, Refer is hands down the best of the best. read more

Great job ! Very reasonable price and a first time discount. Highly recommend to anyone. Thanks

The ladies that came were very sweet and did a really great job with a move out clean for me. My place is spotless. The company website is a little outdated but don't let that discourage you from hiring -- will definitely be using Refer in the future. read more

There is no better home-cleaning service in NYC. We tried 4 services just to be sure. SUMMARY: We tested 4 cleaning services found on Yelp with the goal of finding the best for us. These guys were not only the best, most thorough cleaners, but they were extremely attentive to our appointment, and were the LEAST EXPENSIVE!!! BOOKING: They, like most modern cleaning services, have an easy to use online portal to schedule your appointments, share notes and special instructions with the managing team, and upload your credit card for easy payment. CLEANING: Hands down the most thorough cleaning we have ever had. Our cleaner, Nicole, was great, and always asks if she missed anything before leaving. They also sent their General Manager, Leticia, over at the end of the first session to double-check everything herself and give Nicole constructive notes on how to do it even better next time. NO other service sends a manager by to check the cleaners work. (Drop the mic now) PRICING: Visit their pricing page for details. we pay approximately $80 every other week for 3.5 hours of cleaning We have an 1,100 sq/ft apartment with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and an 8'x5' outside porch). read more

I've used these guys twice so far for move-in and post-renovation clean up. Will be using them again soon. Great work.

This was my first cleaning ever in this house. We had guests coming over and I had to get the house cleaned in quite a hurry. I reached out to a bunch of house cleaning services and refer cleaning service was most responsive and accommodating to my request. Even before my cleaning, I had to fill out a short questionnaire regarding the state of my house and the areas I wanted to concentrate on. This way the cleaning service knew exactly what to expect and be prepared for. Jonatan was my assigned cleaner. For an adhoc cleaning they assign a arrival time window. I mistook this as my cleaning appointment and when I called the service to confirm the arrival time of my cleaner they were very kind and apologized for the confusion Jonatan was well within the arrival time window and didn't leave my place till it was spotless. He was kind enough to move around my heavy furniture and clean under it ( something that was extra) and take special care of my hardwood floor which was my biggest concern. Closer to the end of the cleaning, he even put on shoe covers so as to not leave any dirt behind ( a pleasant surprise) The whole process took about 3 hours and he was happy to go over the areas where a second look was needed. He also gave me tips on how to better care for the apartment myself. He gave me a sample of their organic cleaner - which left my granite island clean and free of streaks. He also helped me remove the pesky scuff marks on the walls that appear over time Overall I was very satisfied with the service and the price which made a for a solid 5 star review read more

I set up this cleaning service after finding them on care.com Leticia quickly and very professionally responded. Brianne came over to my house but she ran about 10 mins late, although they did text me and said the trains were delayed. I appreciate the advance notice. The cleaning was pretty good and when I thought Brianne was almost done a home manager came and basically double checked every nook and cranny that I didn't even know existed in my house. They stay for an extra 20 mins cleaning every last detail. The home manager I would say has super OCD which is always a plus when it comes to cleaning. They really fold your toilet paper like the hotels. I'm super satisfied. Although, now I don't want to touch anything because its too perfect. read more

John did an AMAZING job cleaning our apartment upon move out. The bathroom & kitchen were sparking clean as was the living area & two bedrooms. And it smelled fresh after cleaning. Highly recommend this cleaning service and will use again. read more

Got my mom house cleaning with these good folks for Christmas and she was beyond impressed with the level of service. I was impressed with their quick and clear communication. They base their home and apartment cleaning on the size and the level of dirtiness. Based on this in consultation with one of the managers I got my mom an hourly cleaning ($50 an hour) and organizing service ($35). I cannot wait to book their services for my place and would happily recommend them to any and everyone! read more

I get biweekly cleanings with Refer and they are AMAZING, give them a try, you won't regret it. I used to do cleanings with another (more widely known) company and the attention to detail was really poor. They didn't clean thoroughly, the dishes and utensils had residue, the floors weren't truly cleaned, I could go on and on. I felt like they just rode off their reputation and didn't actually do good work. You will never have these problems with Refer. Our housekeeper comes on time and makes our house SPOTLESS. Attention to detail is amazing, little touches here and there always make me smile. We really trust Refer with our home. If you're looking for a reliable, trustworthy house cleaning, for one time or on the regular, seriously look no further and give them a call. read more

Love their service! I have severe OCD and need my place to be absolutely clean almost all the time. I would spray alcohol if someone came into my place and accidentally step on the floor without taking their shoes off. Also, bathroom floor/mat has 0 hair. Dishes have to be cleaned every night before I go to sleep. When I hired Refer Cleaning Service to come clean my place, I didn't know someone in the world could be more OCD than me. The manager and one lady came to clean my place. After they are done, they show me how many spots left on the window or the floor and explained why they are still there. I mean, this is what I would do too! They did such a fantastic job that fits my OCD requirement! I would definitely recommend their service to anyone who needs housekeeping service ALSO need them to do a good job. read more

I love Refer Cleaning. They are excellent with rescheduling, quick to respond to emails, etc., but most important, the worker who cleans my house, Neisy, is an angel. I am not a super-organized person and Neisy puts up with my disorderliness and makes my apartment look perfect (like that of a person who is ... not disorderly). She's so sweet with the cats and so sweet in general. I would recommend her to anyone. read more

Leticia was fantastic! She was thorough, kind, on time and left the apartment sparkling. Leticia went above and beyond to make sure every room was clean and to my satisfaction. I will definitely use her again! read more

So happy with Hollyann and Refer Cleaning! I did a lot of research after some not great experiences and am really happy with the thorough job she did today. Johnathan is amazing! I spoke exclusively with him throughout the quoting, consultation & actual booking processes. During this awful time of uncertainty dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic while concurrently moving, one of the assurances I had was that I knew Johnathan would take great care in helping me; I knew I could trust him. He was reassuring, friendly, patient & extremely professional and knowledgeable in helping me to not just meet the moving-out compliance rules for renters; but Jonathan actually far exceeded my personal goals. My cousin was wonderful enough to help me facilitate things on site (as I moved out of state to preserve me already failing health), she too mentioned how great he was & what a fabulous job he did! Once Johnathan was done working his magic in my former unit, the apartment looked phenomenal! Thanks again for everything Johnathan, I only wish Refer Cleaners were in my new home state too. read more

Refer Cleaning Service was great to use and easy to communicate with, and I can't wait for my next cleaning! My cleaner, Leticia, was prompt, efficient, and meticulous in the deep cleaning for our bathroom (which was in NEED of a good cleaning), and she cleaned every last micro-corner of the bathroom from the tub to the hard-to-reach areas behind the toilet and even the shower head! It was the absolute cleanest I've ever seen the bathroom - literally SQUEAKY CLEAN! I'm looking forward to my next cleaning, as this has been the best cleaning experience I've had in New York City! read more

My husband and I both work full time and we can't seem to find time to clean. I tried hiring an individual but it didn't work out. The cleaning was not coming out like the way we wanted. That's when we decided to give this company a shot. First of all, their customer service was great! They called me a day before my scheduled cleaning to find out our preferences. The next day a cleaner showed up to tackle the job on time and later a home manager. Their attention to detail is beyond amazing! Secondly, I love that they sent me before and after pictures with suggestions on what they could do next time. read more

The cleaning service was beyond my expectation! I am taking the time to write this review because they were truly a great service. First, I had just finished renovating our 2 bedroom apartment and found out a day before that I was moving in and needed a "deep clean." I started researching on Yelp for good four star cleaning services with lots of review, and most were booked, because I was looking for next day cleaning on a Thursday which is a popular cleaning day of the week, until I came upon Refer Cleaning Service. Second, I had a laundry list of questions, price, how many people, what supplies they will bring etc...right off the bat they were super responsive and even sent me pictures of the mop they will be using when I was questioning the type of supplies they will be using. I did not want a used mop or toilet cleaner, they said, they bring one time use toilet cleaners. On the day of the clean, Nicole and the Jon showed up early to the appointment. I had booked them for 3 hours, and they stayed for 7 hours, and only charged me for the flat rate they had quoted me! I insisted I pay more, they said no, they will charge me what they said they will upfront. They spent a whole hour in one bedroom only! After cleaning each area they would ask me to look it over to see if I was satisfied? It was a post construction job and there was A Lot of dust, and they went over some areas several times. Then came the bathroom, they scrubbed it so clean I could see my reflection in the glass shower door and tiles, and even pointed out that part of my glass shower door was scratched from construction. The cleaning was very professional, thorough, and they did not leave a spot uncleaned. Jon was very helpful in recommending some products that are natural and not chemical based for future cleanings. He even left me a mop and a white sponge to do touch up cleaning the next day, since I did not have my cleaning supplies yet. I highly recommend them, and will definitely use them again. read more

Requested a post construction deep clean after our house renovations. Was an excellent choice as Jonathan & (wonderful woman, I forgot her name, starts with an L) were able to get the house to a super tidy state. They are very detailed and often check with you to see what your preference is in handling some trickier situations. We are glad we made this choice to go with Refer Cleaning Service & when things get hectic will use the services more often probably. Thanks for your great work! Just a tip that ensure that you provide them ample time to do their magic. I had scheduled some events after the clean which caused them to rush a bit (felt bad) but they still got the job done. read more

I first tried refer cleaning 2 weeks ago and just had my second cleaning with them and I have to say they are amazing. The cleaner assigned to my house, Lande, and my household manager Jonathan exceeded my expectation on all fronts and they are so much better than any other cleaning companies I've tried in nyc. I've tried cleaning services from amazon (results were just fine, but i was not convinced to use again) and another very high end, very expensive cleaning company ("organic"/"luxury"/"household consultation" - charges 2x what refer is charging) and refer excels on all levels. Timeliness - Lande has always arrived 15-20 minutes prior to the scheduled time and never leaves early. You are always getting 15-20 mins more of her time. The cleaner from the luxury company arrives late ("subway issues") and leaves early because the "work is done". I think timeliness speak volumes of a cleaning company, their management, and cleaners since we are paying by the hour. The first time I used refer I also had a complimentary fridge cleaning. The manager, Jonathan, came for the last hour of my appointment and did a very through cleaning of the fridge and inspected Lande's work. They both ended up staying beyond the scheduled time to make sure the quality is up to par. Cleaning - Lande is great, very attentive to details. I've asked her to use the cleaning supplies I prefer for my household and everything gets finished up as I would expect. I would also note that she is very good with pets and understands how to work around them. My cat actually loves her (unlike the previous cleaner), meows and asks for pets from her, and I'm glad i don't have to be home for every cleaning appointment just to make sure my cat is safe. Communications with the scheduling team, as well as with the manager has been responsive. I am very glad I gave refer a try and it feels like i will be using them for a long time. read more

They did a good job. I will be utilizing them again. I would love if they did windows (exterior)

Refer Cleaning Service is my new JAM. We were so happy with the professionalism and thorough job they did on my house. Our cleaner John had a positive attitude, great energy and went vigorously straight to work without wasting any time. He clearly understood how to navigate efficiently throughout a house so he could maximize his time scrubbing every detail of the important areas. I felt that John went over and beyond to do the small things other lazier companies would skip. The kitchen and bathrooms were sparkling. Refer even changes your sheets! Great touch. The communication throughout was fantastic. I was thoroughly satisfied. Highly recommend. Than you Refer! read more

My wife and I have recently moved into our new home. We needed someone to clean the house after our house warming party. We did some research and came across Refer Cleaning Service. We liked the way their booking process is set up. You choose how many hours of cleaning you need, date and time and form of payment. Being able to pay in advanced with your credit card is very convenient for us. Our house was a mess after our house warming party so we selected the 6-hour cleaning option. They called us two days before our cleaning to ask for special instructions and discuss which areas we wanted them to focus on more. The day of the cleaning, Leticia arrived on time. She was prepared with all the cleaning supplies needed. Leticia got to work right away. We loved that she pretty much knew what to do since we had already discussed what we wanted to be cleaned. After the 6-hour cleaning, our house was spotless. Seeing the house so clean without having to clean it yourself is priceless. We will definitely book Refer Cleaning Service again in the future. They are really professional and efficient at their job. read more

First and foremost I want to say it is hard to meet people who are genuine and really care for their customers and their jobs. I recently moved to NY and during my search for a cleaning company I gave Refer Cleaning Service a chance, and let me tell you I will never go anywhere else. John is AMAZING!! And his works is makes you want to walk around your house barefoot no matter what! He bleached my floors 4-5 times, cleaned the heck out of my sink and bathtub. He takes pride in what he does and he will give you the honest truth in a respectful manner. I appreciate his work ethic and I just want to say thanks John for everything! Keep up the great work guys I will definitely be recommended your services. read more

My first time using Refer and I can't say enough positive things about the experience. From the initial price quote query on yelp to the on-line booking, Refer made the process simple. They were pleasant, professional and left my apt spotless. I'll be using them again! read more

We booked Refer for a move out clean at the end of our lease. The rate was by far the most competitive of 4 quotes. The team we're easy to communicate with, and as we'd vacated the property already, they sent before and after photos of the job, which we couldn't be happier with. Clean as a whistle and some extra work thrown in for good measure (extra floor cleaning was needed due to a rug positioner sticking to the hardwood floors). The place looks fantastic - if we were still living in NYC we'd hire them for a regular service. Just above and beyond! Thanks for a job well done! read more
