Enjoyed my first time here. Great looking place but it's Just meh. This was our second time visiting and this place is hit or miss depending on who you get cutting your hair. Took kids so bill was $120 which is pricey, and quality was not great. Youngest had his ear cut, other son's hair was not what he asked for and my hair was too short and not styled how I asked. My 13-year old son is very picky with his hair, so it's been a struggle to find a barber he likes. We've been two two different barbers in the last 5-6 months. Although he didn't hate his haircut, he also didn't love it. He felt like the barbers didn't really listen to him. We decided to give American Barber Shop in Milton a try. We made a last minute appointment with the first available barber. Fortunately for us, they had a 5:30 PM slot open. We arrived on time and were greeted right away. We didn't wait long after checking-in. Ehete got my son and took him to her chair. They were finished in under 30 minutes. Ehete was friendly and personable. I've been twice and they have been the worst haircuts in my life. I don't need a lot just a decent fade and to listen to me.

I called ahead and asked for someone with experience with men's long hair and was recommended to Sam, however based on my experience it did not seem like he was familiar with cutting long hair At all. My hair is long and thick and he tried to comb it out with a fine tooth comb - that does not work with my hair style and pulled out lots of hair. I did not get the layers I requested. I'm sure he's just fine with short hair, but I do not know why the front desk recommended him to me. He did a beard service as well which was better, but he poked me hard in the eye and did not use aftershave. I have red lines on my neck and razor bumps that I do not normally get. Overall 2/10, I would not personally recommend this shop. read more

Let me start saying i've been getting a hair cut in this location for over 3 years. This Past Thursday i've made an appointment and is required to pre pay, the appointment was for 4:30PM, i got help up and arrived there 25 mins late. As i showed the front desk person ( NOT friendly at all) told me i was late and she'd set me up wiht a different person. i was ok with it since i was late, as i finished my cut i was walking out since i pre paid and she chance me saying i have to pay, i questioned saying i pre paid so she tell me since i was late i lost my $31.00 and would have to pay again, i did not coplaiined BUT i told her just for the record i've been coming here for year and NEVER been late before. needless to say i had to pay $62 for a 15min hair cut. i'd never put my foot there again, the $31 must be worth since i cut my hair every 2 weeks. Such a shame as I just moved here, and was hoping for a quality local barber to go with my son to get our hair cuts. The cut and beard trim by Mary was very average at best tbh. She cut me while shaving me too (AVOID). The staff are incredibly rude and disrespectful. Find somewhere where they do a good haircut and where the staff are not blatantly rude to customers. I checked in 10 mins early and was sitting waiting for my barber. The three female staff members were mocking my name as they thought I was late. Blatant and rude. They made me feel extremely uncomfortable. It was obvious they didn't realize I was there but they were not being discrete with their little jokes. Not a professional place at all. In need of some serious customer service training for the three female staff members - or get new staff members. The place sucks. I sat through 45 mins of a shave and a haircut feeling super uncomfortable - couldn't wait to leave. If I could give it a zero I would AVOID OR LAST RESORT ONLY. read more

I have been going to the one on Mansell rd since it has been open. Hardi is the one we use. All of the other barbers there are really good but Hardi always does a little extra for his customers. During this covid crisis he was the only one wearing a face shield. In addition to the shield he was wearing a mask, gloves and disinfected his station after every customer. He loves to talk if that is what you want or not talk. Whatever makes you comfortable he will do. Aside from that the shop is always amazingly clean and the rest of the staff is awesome. You make your appointments online. That way there is no wait when you get there. They also accept walk-ins too. read more

I was a walk in and they were very attentive. My barber was good, but missed several spots which I had to fix when I got home. Need to try again as the shop was busy, but my barber was not very focused on providing great service, but rather watching soccer. Also, price was 60% higher than the barber in downtown Alpharetta. read more

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT BOOK MANDANA. I originally booked my hair appointment with Sana the day or two before. On the morning of the barber shop calls and says that she called in sick. Which was great on their part. I rebooked it with someone else at the same time. Her name was Mandana. I came in asking for a trim but long enough so I can style it to the side because I was going to a wedding in a couple of weeks. Mandana asked if I wanted a 2 on the sides. A 2 ON MY SIDES?!?!?!? Of course I said no (that would be way too short and I have a pretty bad scar on my head from when I was younger that you can see if you go a 3 or lower), but she did it anyway. And they have to match the top with the sides so overall it was not what I wanted and I can't style it. And also I booked a shampoo and she disregarded that too. read more

Be warned this location evidently self selects walk in visits at their discretion. My four year old son and I walked in to get haircuts. We were advised by the manager/owner (don't know specifically) they were busy and to either come back later or book online. He NEVER looked at their schedule or who was working or may have cancelled. Another gentleman walks in immediately after us with his kids and the same manager/owner looks at the schedule and says they can fit them in. I ask why that accommodation was not offered to my son and me and he says "what the helI, I'll make room....I thought you were going to book online." No apology or recognition he was in the wrong and possibly even prejudice. I did not accept his forced obligation. If he is an employee he needs to be fired. Beautiful place but horrible customer care. This person needs management re-training and leadership skills. read more

I go to American Barber in Milton/Crabapple because my stylist, Chelsea, is an artist at her craft. I get consistent quality cuts and great service in a clean environment. I usually call to schedule my appointments. On the second day of AB's re-opening, I went in for a cut and found the staff to be socially responsible by wearing gloves and masks. I was reluctant to venture out and walk into a barber shop with the pandemic in full force, but the need for grooming overcame my fear and I put on my mask and walked in. First thing I noticed was that all of the lobby chairs for guests to sit in were turned around and ropped off. Hand sanitizer on the counter and masks on every worker. Chelsea did an amazing job on my hair. She is dang good at her job. She knows how to comfort a client with good but not over bearing conversation. I recommend her to anyone. This American Barber Shop in Crabapple is new and Business seems to be steadily increasing. That's because there is usually only a short wait, if at all, and the barbers there do a good job. The facility is new with a sports/football theme. College and pro logos are on the walls, and several tv's are showing whatever sports might be on during your visit. Overall the cuts at ABS are above average, with hot towels and straight razor service. Cost is a bit on the high side at $25 for a standard cut, but with their email/text club you'll often get a reminder your due for a haircut along with a $5 e-coupon. That makes ABS competitive with other barber shops in the area. read more

I've been going here for a long time. Great place. Nice people. When someone cutting your hair chooses not to wear a mask, it is the equivalent of giving you as a customer the middle finger. If I ran this place, I would sure as heck would do everything I could to prevent getting shut down again. I would also make every effort like so many businesses do to protect my customers. Very disappointed. Won't be back. I took my boys there for haircuts and was told it would be about 20-25 minutes. An hour later we left with frustrated kids and no haircuts. We left because when I asked one of the workers how much longer we should expect she said she had no idea and acted like i should have known they had appointments booked all day and were just trying to "fit in" walk-ins.
