Took my son here one Sunday morning to get a haircut. We didn't have an appointment, but arrived shortly after they opened and was seen right away. This location is big and has plenty of barber chairs. It also has a big lobby with plenty of seating for those who are waiting. My son told the barber exactly what he wanted and I chimed in that I wanted the front to be shorter. They were done in under 30 minutes. Although I loved the haircut and how short it was, my son wasn't a fan. He didn't hate the cut, he just said the barber cut off too much. The staff was really friendly. I had asked for a simple mid fade military Ish haircut before I had to go to my unit and before anything lady had thought that I wanted to go bald after I clearly stated that that's not close to what I wanted and proceeded to shave my head making it so I had to shorten everything and then also continue to shave half my mustache so I had left the place with half a mustache would not recommend going here zero out of 10 if I could've rated it less than one star I would. read more

I have been coming here for over a year and always see Kiyan. I'm 45 (so I've had a lot of haircuts) and he is one of the best barbers I've had. Prompt, professional, always remembers my cut and is absolutely meticulous. He's never in a rush and has fantastic equipment and products. I'll keep going back as long as he's there. read more

REESHA - AKA - American Barber Shop Coming from Brooklyn, NY where there are 4 barber shops in every other a street corner, this place has a ton to improve on. Its a clean looking place and pretty organized (Walk ins are hardly accepted). They have a bunch of basic cut options off their menu they could benefit a lot from, like a tape-up, shape-up, line-ups (for those refresher in between cuts). BIG NOTE: Their prices have gone up 4 times in 12 months already. Going to have to start driving to Alpharetta for a more reasonable experience. -Update_ owner reached out and called me a liar. Look at the attached photos shows 3 increases. I always give a $5 tip. Pics show 3 changes, and they just changed again another $5 up to $30 from $25. read more

This is the best barber shop in Cumming! I've tried many different haircut businesses in Cumming, Johns Creek, Woodstock, Canton, Alpharetta and Roswell, but none of them compare to American Barber Shop. All of the staff are friendly, professional and very skilled with cutting hair. I personally get my haircut from Marcio whenever I go in! He is very precise on the way he cuts and always goes out of his way to make sure you are fully satisfied with the way your hair looks before you leave his chair! Another great barber that I recommend is Mac. He is the owner! Men's haircut is $22 and if you need a shave or beard trim/ shape up it costs around $10. TIP: Call ahead and MAKE AN APPOINTMENT, otherwise you will be waiting a while to get your haircut. This barber shop is popular, so it's typically packed when you go inside; at least every time I've gone. But don't let that stop you from going! This was my first time working with Lana. She listened to my hair woes (bad haircut from another barbershop), and told me my options. She began her work while engaging me in light conversation. The more she worked, I could tell that it was going to be a great cut. When she was finished, she showed me what she did, and explained why. It came out even better than I expected. I went for the first time to Reesha's to get my hair trimmed and shaped. I was very pleasantly surprised. I arrived for my appointment early, but they were more than accommodating of my early arrival. Aster was my stylist and she was quite good at her profession. My hair is long and I wanted it to set better on my head but didn't want to lose too much length. She did a wonderful job. As far as the facility is concerned, it is kept clean and has a very relaxed vibe. I am planning to return the next time I need a cut, and I recommend that you book an appointment as well. This place is on point. I have a specific cut I like along with a large beard that I'm picky about how it's trimmed. I've had multiple stylists help me and have been satisfied each time. Steve is my main man, and I use him whenever he's available. The prices are super reasonable and the shop is clean and a nice place to hang out in. Customer service was good. Went in there wasn't any customers which was good for me since I don't like waiting. Furthermore one of the barbers was cutting my hair and it looked good but then another Barber tells him he didn't do it right so he "helped" him with my haircut so he finishes and everything I head home and my roommate tells me they messed up my hair bad he even took a pic. And they did which was very disappointing since 2 barbers cut my hair also I paid 23$ for a messed up fade. Last time coming here. Usually they do a fantastic job here at American Barber Shop! However, I sent my boyfriend there today for a 30 min appointment I made online for him for a Delux Cut and Shave ($30). He has a very basic haircut and just needed stubble cleaned up on his face. He arrived and Tonya, a woman he had never seen before today, informed him that because he was 5 mins late to his 6:30 appointment-- she couldn't do a shave on him. His haircut alone took 13 mins. He left at 6:48pm. There was more than enough time to have shaved his face before close and within his appointment time. He expressed that he really wanted the shave tonight before date night multiple times. However, Tonya was very snippy to him and refused. She just absolutely did not want to shave him today for whatever reason. She was rushed and pushy to get him out the door after charging the full $30 of the Delux Cut and Shave (twice the price of just the haircut he received). He will not be seeing her again. When I go there, ten people where ahead of me and I waited about 15 minutes which is reasonable considering everyone comes here to get a proper haircut. Worse place to deal with... Must avoid Kevin if you do end up here. He has zero skills. I was in town from NY and usually go to my regular spot Joseph & Friends when in Atlanta but decided to give this place a shot. Why? The reviews and lack of time. Long story short, KEVIN failed to understand what I asked him to do. I repeated two times and his comeback was in a rude manner that he understood the first time around... well, clearly not. SURROUNDING AREA and ATMOSPHERE: Well kept, clean but amongst the employees silly issues being discussed brings the whole atmosphere to the ground. I have been using the same barber for the past 3 years and have been satisfied with her work, but she is at least a 20 minute ride away and I normally have to make an appointment. I work near American Barber Shop and have wanted to give them a try. I know it's only hair, and if you get a bad haircut, it will grow out, but hey, I'm as vain as the next guy ;-) Today, I decided to get my haircut at American, and Mack was my choice of barbers. He is extremely polite, very professional, and I got a great haircut. To be honest, it is quite a bit better than my previous barber's haircuts, and it was cheaper too! I haven't been to a barber since I was I don't know, maybe 7 years old. However, I decided to do something different and go visit a barbershop. Heading there, I envisioned the old men sitting around reading the newspaper and gossiping, plenty of coffee and a barber pole out front. None of that was here, and after about 30 seconds, I didn't miss them. This is a well designed barbershop. Each station has bookshelves ( or whatever they're really called) that give the area a warm touch.The barbers are in slacks and vests (very nice touch) and very pleasant. I got a very good cut and really enjoyed the finishing touches. A shave to the back of the neck and a Menthol towel face wrap. I left a happy customer. To top it off, it was cheaper than my regular salon haircut. All in all, a great experience and a fair price. read more

Mack is the guy to see. I have a difficult cut and he nailed it. Cleaned up my lines and beard with a straight razor and hot shaving cream. Then they clean you up with a hot towel and have a blower to clean all the hair off. Mack then styled my hair better than I can. Throughly impressed....I will go no where else. read more

My son is extremely meticulous on how he has his beard & likes to keep it clean and lined up.
