Kielty Plumbing, Heating & Cooling was a positive one -- but unfortunately, it was far from it. I needed to coordinate a plumber for a seller who had already moved out of state to South Carolina. The home is vacant, and we discovered a minor leak in the laundry room near the washer hookup as well as an issue with the main water shut‑off valve. R.J. Kielty came out during the week, gave us a quote, and assured us they'd order the parts and be back on Friday to complete the work. Friday came... and in the middle of the day, we got a call saying the parts weren't in and they wouldn't be out until Monday. That was frustrating, but we waited. When they did finally come out, they only sent the sellers a photo of a small portion of the work they did in the laundry room. When I personally went to the home to inspect, I was shocked. There was a massive hole cut in the laundry room wall -- and in the process of removing the drywall, they had carelessly ripped off large sections of paint. They never disclosed this to the seller, and simply left it that way, knowing full well the home is getting ready to go on the market. When the seller called them, the plumber simply said, "I don't do drywall, there's nothing I can do." No apology, no offer to make it right. As someone who prides herself on connecting clients with trustworthy vendors, I'm incredibly disappointed. Not only was the schedule pushed and communication poor, but the lack of care -- and the fact that they took advantage of the seller being out of state -- is unacceptable. I cannot recommend R.J. Kielty Plumbing, Heating & Cooling after this experience.

After arriving nearly two hours after she expected them, they told her they couldn't do it without removing the toilet and it gave her a quote for over $900. She called me and I told her to send them on their way. They charged her a $200 service charge and made her feel ashamed for not going through with the job. I called another plumber I've used before and they quoted $250, so I scheduled them. When I called and spoke with Tim, he tried to explain to me how difficult of a job it would be to remove the toilet and clear the line. After questioning him, he admitted it would likely take under an hour. He then told me that he didn't quote $970 that he actually quoted $790 or something of that nature. I don't believe him over my mother and if you are willing to change your prices that quickly you know you're being unethical anyways. TIM, I'm a man of my word and I promised you a 1 star review. Pretty disappointed by our experience with Stuart's. We called for a toilet that won't flush…read moreappropriately. The plumber augered the toilet to clear the material in the bowl but failed to diagnose the root cause of the problem. The toilet will not flush appropriately and the plumber stated that the toilet was 10-15 years old and would need to be replaced. The flushing mechanism in his opinion had been updated and he couldn't get replacement parts for it. However the toilet was made in 2018. "All" toilets have a date stamp for their manufacture and our toilet was not an exception. With that, there is a sticker on the lid with all the replacement part information. If the plumber had spent some actual time diagnosing the problem they may have noticed that the gurgling is a symptom of a clogged vent pipe. We also had an issue last minute where our not in service sprinkler system had failed and was running constantly. When we moved in the previous owner had removed the timer and sprinkler control box leaving the sprinkler heads and control valves. For some reason one of the zones control valves failed open. The plumber did not try to diagnose the problem and instead tried to tell my girlfriend that the timer must have failed and would be in the garage somewhere. Luckily our lawn guy was able to send a irrigation person to find the control valve and shut it manually. Unfortunately I was at work and not able to help give direction but why should a paid professional need to be coached through troubleshooting their specialty.

Unfortunately, a few months later, a hose bibb they installed broke off overnight and caused a major flood under my modular home, washing out part of the foundation. They did come out the same day to fix the broken bibb, but the real issue became clear after the water receded: serious damage to the foundation. When I called to speak with the owner to explain what had happened, I was told I wouldn't be able to speak to anyone above a man named Jake. He insisted the hose bibb that broke wasn't their responsibility--claiming it was pre-existing. It wasn't. Their plumber installed it during the replumb. They also told me beforehand that a shut-off valve would be added, but that never happened either. Jake went on to claim the foundation damage was due to 30 years of rain runoff, which simply isn't true. He never came out to inspect the damage himself. I had recently been under the house myself, running a coax cable, and there were no signs of damage at that time. I've since had two licensed foundation contractors assess the issue--both confirmed the damage was not from rain runoff and both are willing to testify to that in court. The repairs are estimated between $8,000 and $15,000, and Matt's Plumbing has refused to take any responsibility or even continue the conversation. I paid for a full replumb to avoid plumbing issues--and instead, I'm left with more problems and major expenses. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Matt's Plumbing.
