It was a dark and snowy evening, and Litchfield Connecticut had already shut down for it's winter slumber. Our intrepid heroine battled through the increasing snowflakes, relentlessly flying in the face of her windshield, windshield wipers adequately beating them back. The gas tank gauge hovered precariously at the 1/3 line, then plummeted to 2/12. Disaster seemed, well, not imminent but forthcoming in the next day. Luckily, Litchfield has one gas station that dares to be open past 10 pm, one that CARES enough for wayward travelers to be able to fill up in the winter at an hour night owls find early. I present the Reena Citgo, a beacon of light in an otherwise cold, dark wasteland with limited cell phone service.
The station is a little awkward coming in and out at time, the pumps are right by the road, but if you're running into the service station there is parking and entrance in the back. The prices are a little high, if you're in need of emergency eggs it's so much easier then Stop and Shop. read more
