As mentioned above, we went to the Plaza el Caribe food court location but the menu was very limited so we chose to go to another nearby location. Menu was more extensive, but I was disappointed that they no longer had yuca fries on their menu. I ordered the pavo (turkey) sandwich which was 5.99. It came with their special white queso and a little bit of lettuce and diced tomato. It was a bit dry (needed more mayo) and was skimpy on the pavo. I ordered the natural cut fries and they were really good, but not hot and fresh (1.99 lg). My friend ordered the cubano sandwich and he really enjoyed that along with the corn surrillos (fritters) and a pastel de yuca (yuca soup). I had one surrillo and it was too dry and I tried a spoonful of the soup and it was really tasty. It reminded me of butternut squash soup. Overall, our meals were still good, dining room was very clean (outdoor seating as well), employees were friendly, and the prices are amazing (26.15 total). Parking was very congested and tight (park on the street if you can).

In short no but it isn't bad at all when you can't get to your favorite spot and notice one of their locations close by. I don't like the dishes they use to serve the food which is more like a paper plate because when you have rice it tends to stick to the plate. The inside tables were a bit dirty and the place felt uninviting for a "tropical" theme. No pictures of one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean??? As far as the food goes: The beans were a bit more unseasoned than I like but weren't horrible. In all we for a family of 4, the flank steak which was pretty good, plantains, yuca, and also grilled chicken. The chicken was a bit on the smaller side. I'd eat there again if I needed a quick pickup for take out to bring back to the hotel. The prices aren't bad.

Ended up ordering the steak sandwich with fries and had a queso pastry as well. In any case, service was great (order at the counter and seat yourself).

The young man made certain everything was to our liking and greeted us as we left. Honestly, more businesses need this sort of customer service!!! AMBIANCE The place has ample seating with big tables and amble space between them. The decor is relaxing and all was clean. Wind blew in and out gently keeping us cool. A fly and a bee were flying around for a bit but they eventually went away. Really not a big deal for us especially considering the excellent food and customer service! FOOD The selection of Puerto Rican food was good. At first it looks like its not a whole lot but great choices of chicken, beef or pork along with several sides to choose from. In the end you have so much of a choice, it's hard to settle on just a few! ;) I had the BBQ pork and it was fresh and delicious! The flavor was rich and was cooked to perfection-not dry! My dad had the beef stew and he was greatly pleased with flavor and freshness as well. Our rice, beans, yucca and maduros were well cooked. This here is a little gem and the prices are good especially considering how much food you get. We had 1/2 left so we'll be having a 2nd meal out of one order each. Two plates and 3 drinks was about $15. In L.A. that gets you one plate and not as fresh and no drink! Lol! They had a great selection of cold drinks. I opted for water & my dad had Malta. RESTROOM They had 2 restrooms in the back that were very clean and properly supplied. I was pleased to see them clean. PARKING Parking is tiny and you have to back out when exiting which can be a bit tricky. But really, not a problem considering what awaits for your belly and taste buds. Nimodo! It is what it is. Still worth it! ;D RECOMMEND I will absolutely recommend this place! Don't expect a 5 star restaurant but you'll get 5 star service & food! So you get a few flies, deal with it coz the food is worth it! If it bothers you that much then take it to go. No worries. I get it. Some may be bothered by that but DON'T miss out on this little gem just because of that! You'll be glad you ate here! ¡Buen provecho! DESERT I would've liked to see a dessert or two. Maybe they had them but I didn't really look nor did I ask. Really, I was too full but I would've had it to go. I'll ask about dessert when we go back!
