Living in Pittsburgh, PA I don't get out to Boise near as often as I'd like. However, when I come you can be sure that I will be stopping into Reed's to pickup chocolate milk ASAP! My wife introduced me to Reed's on a trip to Rexburg many years ago and I'm a convert! The potato flakes make it so creamy and nice! I've been known to freeze some and pack it in a checked bag home too... Service is usually pretty friendly and quick and the ambiance of this store is fine. It's a little minimalistic with not a lot of indoor seating, but there is outdoor seating for when the weather is warm which is probably pretty nice.

So glad we stopped by after our dance recital and had some great ice cream! They offer plenty of options in many sizes along with other dairy products (we picked up some cheese curds which are to die for!). We had the huckleberry, the bubble gum, and a brownie caramel combo that should be illegal! On top of what we had, we plan to go back and try more: Root Beer Milk Grilled Cheese Great little shop, nice people, and locally owned, give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

My only 'complaint' is they're closed on Sundays! Fantastic ice cream with lots of homemade flavors. Cups or cones, also milk, and other delicious dairy products for purchase. Indoor and outdoor seating, friendly staff, and plenty of parking. A family favorite!

This place has the best ice cream Me and my family love it and on hot days we can bike to it

Reed's Dairy is a staple from my childhood. The flagship store is in the town where I grew up and I spent my summers hanging on their front lawn, counting out my change so I could buy a kid's size cone for under $1. When they opened up stores in the Treasure Valley, it felt like kismet that this was the place I settled. (Though I miss the cow smell and pricing of the original) I recently went to the new Lake Hazel location and have no real new information to add. Clean and bright with an army of smiling high schoolers to scoop your ice cream. My favorite flavors are still Gorilla Munch, Licorice, Peach Cobbler and Apple Pie (which might be discontinued because I haven't seen it for years). You can get a few variations of grilled cheese sandwich combos. You also absolutely must try the chocolate milk and cheese curds. It will rock your world. On a personal note, I got a waffle size cone with the intention of sharing with my one year old but she would NOT share with me. So...maybe get everyone their own cone. :-/

Such good ice cream (and huge scoops)! They also have the BEST chocolate milk ever! Perfect summer spot.

The ice cream is sticky and strange and overly sweet. The flavors don't come through. Goody's is by far superior to Reed's.

A fun place with not just your run-of-the-mill ice cream and sherbet flavors. Mexican Hot Chocolate, or licorice anyone!

Nice, cozy restaurant in Basque Block area of Boise! This is my first time trying Basque style…read moretapas, which for those that have been to Spain or had tapas, is quite adjacent to Catalonian style tapas (Barcelona) but with different types of ingredients. We tried the pintxos of the day (3 for $10) - seafood and chorizo gratin, goat cheese and zucchini compote, and sardine bollo with lemon aioli; Basque meatballs with Sheepherder's bread, and braised lamb and potatoes. We also shared a frozen sangria which is a white wine slush with a splash of red wine float. All the food is amazing - the Basque meatballs is a bit on the saltier side but the Sheepherder's bread is so crispy and buttery! Among the pintxos, I loved the seafood and chorizo gratin the most, but all are delicious. The braised lamb and potatoes are good - the lamb is juicy while the potatoes were flavorful and slightly crispy. Service is good for an order at the counter style establishment - servers still walk around and check up on customers, even though the rest of the experience (filling water, etc) is more self-serve.

I've been coming here for many years off and on and especially love their Oktober fest celebration…read more Prost! Beer anyone? They have imports on tap and a ton of brands from Germany. If your coming here for the first time do not miss the schnitzel meals! It's a good hearty meal to fill a hungry belly! The pork is flattened thin, cooked perfectly and the breading flavorful and crispy. The fries thicker cut, skin on and nicely salted, yum! I had the Donor Kebab this time because I hadn't tried it yet and I have been missing out. It was really good! The mixed meat was on point and cooked just right. The veggie combinations were different then what I'm used to with kebabs but it worked really well. They had red cabbage, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, and pepperoncinis. The pita was wrapped in a thin, yet thick enough wrap to hold it all together and it was a perfect compliment to this Kebab! You can also never go wrong with any sausages, bratwurst or bologna. I like that they don't have a huge menu because everything you get is quality ingredients made with care. Did I mention beer? They have a multitude of glasses and form factors to pour into. The owners and employees have been consistently very kind and helpful with any questions I have about the market or restaurant since the beginning. Speaking of the market, they have always had great and fair prices with their imported items and its one of the only places in town that has quality European dark chocolates. Definitely do not miss this stop if you like good beer and excellent food!

I checked reviews and the menu on here and was torn between a Reuben and a schnitzel sandwich. I went with the schnitzel and it is a five star sandwich for sure. I'm never coming to Boise again without hitting das Alpenhaus.

There is a certain appeal to this store that you cannot shirk from. Not only do they sell ice cream, candy, fountain drinks, and popcorn, they also sell Stuffed animals and letters/cards.
