I would strongly recommend staying far away from this complex. Some of the positive reviews are…read morebecause the online system automatically takes you to Google when you're reviewing a maint. request. I lived here 2 years. Worst experience I've ever had with an apt.
What you see online is not what you get. See pics for baseboards, tears in flooring, and broken blinds being taped together with packing tape. Utilities are the most exorbitant I've ever experienced, $450-$650/mo. Steve (mgr) and one of the maintenance men were consistently unprofessional, unhelpful and creepy. They act like you're bothering them if you need assistance.
When I signed the lease, Steve told me "I'll be keeping my eye on you." Someone tried to steal my catalytic converter from the parking lot. Twice, maintenance entered my apartment without notice or permission. The 2nd time maintenance entered without notice, he had the audacity to raise his voice at me. I filed a police report because he had a history of harassing me. He also harassed my guest.
Steve never told me about or gave me keys to the package mailbox, even after I inquired about a missing package. I only learned about it because the mailman left me a note about my package that had been delivered over a year prior. Waste of money.
Maintenance man often yells in the parking lot so loudly you can understand what he's saying from a distance through closed windows. He has no respect for the fact that he's working in and around people's homes.
They hang a sign on your door that says 24 HR NOTICE in the afternoon to enter next morning. They have never once given a proper 24 hr notice. Gave less than 24 hrs notice to move our cars to resurface the parking lot, threatening to tow anyone who was still there by 8am
Bad neighborhood, too. A man followed me home, parked next to me, and yelled at me from his car calling me ugly-a*s b*tch
When we moved in, parts of the linoleum and wooden trim were taped down using clear packing tape. The caulking was poorly done, and when some of it peeled away, I saw they had caulked over black mold, a health hazard
The carpet had a foul odor and was noticeably sticky. I had to buy a carpet cleaner and shampoo it several times. The walls and doors were grimy and stained. The trim around the bathroom was falling off, and one of the window blinds didn't work.
It took them a month to replace my broken dishwasher. It looks like they purchased the cheapest one. The buttons don't always work and you have to physically lift and move the rack to load/unload. It was not fitted correctly, either.
Snow removal is a nightmare. After a storm, they removed snow from the parking lot and put it on the sidewalks. A week later, they took the snow from the sidewalks and put it back in the parking lot. Yes, actually. It made it difficult to enter and exit a parking spot, which is dangerous in such a small, tight lot. You'll see the manager's parking spot shoveled clear with a path to his office, while the handicap spot directly next to it is piled in snow and ice.
POOP EVERYWHERE. Both from resident's dogs and from the dozens of ducks and geese who flock to the pond and roam around on the sidewalks. Some people let their dogs roam around without a leash.
I saw three different neighbors harm their dogs. One left it chained outside for several hours on a 90degree summer day. Another lifted the dog by its leash and collar, "hanging" it in mid-air to punish it for jumping. Another I saw punch her dog with a closed fist. I had to spend time contacting the authorities.
Parking is not good. Maintenance parks their vehicles in the limited tenant parking instead of parking 30 ft away and walking. Landscaping park their trucks behind tenant vehicles so we're blocked in or out for hours.
Maintenance has a sign in his van of a machine gun and US flag that says "If you can read this in English thank a veteran." It's inappropriate to have political signage at an apartment complex and it's hostile to people who speak English as a 2nd language.
WORST EXPERIENCE. Overpriced, continually raise rent, traffic is loud, no amenities. My new place is the same price but has been recently renovated, in a nice neighborhood, has gym and pool, 1 more bathroom, with professional, respectful management and hardworking maintenance. YOU CAN DO MUCH BETTER THAN SANCTUARY VILLAGE.
