Nope! Do not waste your money here. Half the orders with fries were cold, the nachos were missing alot of ingredients, the meat on the nachos...I'm not sure but I think it was a left over hamburger that they just dumped seasoning on and called it good, and to top it off....raw chicken. The poor waitress was clueless, the manager was defensive, and everything was just slow. We were the only group eating. What happened, it used to be so good. read more

We had a party of 7, this experience was absolutely laughable it was so bad on so many levels. The poor young girl waiting on us obviously was never trained. I felt so bad for her. One thing after another was wrong with the food. And she didn't have the tools (knowledge ) of what to do. At one point, she said I asked the cook to fix this, and she said no. WHAT? Are you kidding, here is cold bad food, and you are going to eat it. Cmon man. At one point she was upset,and went for help. Another young girl came out and accused one of my group of being rude. That really set him off, and he lost his temper. I ordered nachos grande. And they came out cold. Literally cold. The "beef" looked like a left over burger, or worse. And the chips were stale. 15 bucks for a pile of garbage. I don't think one person at our table had food that was good. Ya, horrible is more like it. Starting with the good... I really like the pizza fries... my daughters chicken sandwich was "good"... the other two people in my family ordered burgers and they got totally the wrong burgers. The waitress got one of the burgers remade but didn't offer on the other. Hmm. The waitress said, all I do is grab them. Doesn't seem like a good practice, may want to look at them prior to giving them to your customers. Very ordinary, three of us ordered burgers, frozen patty. Dry and basic. Culver's is superior to these burgers. One got onion rings frozen variety. I got salad for up charge, it was seriously to smallest side salad I've ever had. One had chicken wrap. It looked good and she enjoyed it. Waitress was a scatter brain and we froze. first the pizza was served to another table so after waiting for a new pizza, they brought it out and it was not even done. I asked to have them cook it some more and they brought it out and the bottom was still doughy and the top was a little more done. absolutely terrible, the worst I think I've ever had. chetek is our favorite vacation spot every year and we've enjoyed reds in the past, but we will never return based on tonight's experience. Great patio bar, the inside was dated and dead for a Saturday night. Very friendly and helpful staff. I'm guessing they have at least 75 bottles of liquor behind the bar and the only bourbon they pour is Jim Beam. It's 2019 and bourbon is one of if not the hottest spirits and they don't have one premium bourbon?! read more

On 7/23/22 on a Saturday evening at 6PM we, a group of 8 went for dinner a Red's only to be very disappointed. We we're seated and it took a half hour for a someone to take our orders and when ordering prime they told us they didn't have mashed or baked potatoes, so we substituted, another half hour passed and the waitress came back out and said I have more bad news for you we're out of prime rib also. I don't know who the owner is but he doesn't know how to run or manage business. We will never be going back and I suggest to all potential customers to stay a way also. read more

Ridiculously disorganized service. They had two waitresses running the entire bar area and dining room on a busy Sunday afternoon. Food was mediocore at best...bar food basically. This place has really good greasy food but the service here is terrible. If you want quick service don't come here. We waited 20 minutes just to get drinks but the waitress was really polite about it and apologized. This is one of my favorite places to eat in chetek I highly recommend it as this is the first time I've had bad service here. Friendly staff, good food! I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and two kids meals; one burger and the other was nuggets. All of our food was seasoned good and was hot. My kids liked it and chowed down. This is the worst bar on the lake. Gave it the ole three strikes your out. It was a Ghost town with customers and we could not get a drink. Then someone came to take our order and didn't get drinks. What a joke trying to get a refill. Then everything came out burnt. Pizza and kids food everything. With no one there! I would go to any other place on the lake not to mention last time we had the pizza over half the group got sick. We thought maybe just bad luck but no it happened again. And for 4 adults and 2 infants they charged us a "group" rate that automatically added in 18% tip. Like the kids did not cause any extra reason for extra persons. AVOID AVOID AVOID. read more

Extremely slow service, food is mediocre at best, pricing is high for the area, and the bathrooms are disgusting. We stopped in on a Saturday evening for dinner and sat in the dining room. Despite 4-5 hostesses at the host stand, there seemed to be only one waitress running all the tables. I ordered the Jack Daniels burger - it was a frozen patty with some fried onions on it. The beer I ordered never showed up, so after completing our meal, sitting for 10 minutes waiting for the elusive waitress, I finally walked up to the hostess stand and asked them to cancel my beer since I was done eating. I also asked for my check, which finally showed up 5 minutes later. The waitress asked what we ordered, then left our check. A 0% tip was appropriate, but I left cash for our check + $2, then left. We won't be back, which is too bad since our cabin is a short boat ride away. read more

First time at Red's heard good things about this place but very disappointed. 9 people went, all 9 were not impressed. Pizza was mediocre to good, fish fry was cold, french fries cold, and portions very small this was had by four people. CBR wrap was good and adc... Salad was good, but how do you screwup a salad. 4 people had Brandy old fashioned, all made different, no consistency. And when reordered more they were not as good as the first round. Do not recommend this place, also staff could be more pleasant, but they were very prompt and attentive. read more

Horrible experience. We placed an order for a 6pm pick up but got a text at 5pm that the pizza was ready. When we called to ask about it, they assured us that the pizza was not done yet and even when we picked it up, they told us it had only been under the heat for 10 minutes but the pizza was barely warm. They also did not take our order correctly and we were missing parts to the salad that we ordered. Also was not told at any point that the cheese fries were not available even though we ordered them. I've been to Red's each of the past two years. The location, on the water is perfect and picturesque! The food, especially the pizza and fish are excellent. The service is hit or miss, but they always try hard. They have excellent specials and a friendly staff. read more

This place was great. We were skeptical based on the rating but were very pleasantly surprised. The staff was super friendly (Marisa was our server) and our food was great. I highly recommend the big cheddar nuggets. I can't even begin to describe these - it's probably a 1.5" cube of cheddar cheese deep fried with a light tempura batter. Absolutely amazing. My husband had the Wisconsin Prime Rib sandwich and I had the build your own chicken sandwich. Equally tasty. The sweet potato waffle fries were nice and thin, not too thick and mushy. My friends and I were on the " Witches Walk". We decided to end the night at Reds. We walked in and found the bar light to moderate. We walked in and sat down and waited ten minutes. Servers walked by and didn't even acknowledge us. We asked two separate servers for help and all we got from them was "I'll find your server". No servers or bar-tenders came over to take our orders. They have the most loaded bloody Mary I have ever had. Not only is it strong and delicious, but it is basically a meal, as it comes with brussel sprouts, sweet onions, pickled mushrooms, pepperoni, and a pickle. Haven't had the food, but if you are in the cabin town of Chetek, I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Each summer we spend a week or more in Chetek. Eating at Red's is an event that we enjoy. The food is good. The service is remarkable. A place that locals and vacationers can go for a reasonable costing meal. Try the pizza; either eating it there or take it with you. If it is raining, come over for a beer and watch sports on the TV. read more
