So, I lived in these unique apartments for nearly a year and a half, and I am sad to have had to…read moremove (for work), but I enjoyed my time there enough to log on and write about it.
Management:
Most people would start by the building, which I will get to, but we all know a large part of living in these type of environments is effected by how efficient and pleasant the manager of the building is.
Lissett, is by far the best building manager I have ever had. I have lived in London, Scotland, NY, Chicago, so I have some experience with building managers. She is, not only a genuinely good person (which is rare and minor ), but on those rare occasions I had any maintenance issues they were taken care of straight away. Even if it was something like locking my keys in. She makes it feel more like a community.
Cleanliness:
The building is cleaned nearly everyday, and very well maintained. This includes the parking garage, dumpsters, washer/dryers (coin operated), and exterior of the building, not just the basic interior cleaning.
The cleaning woman is also very nice.
Units:
The units are open and spacious, with excellent light source, and cement floors, which makes the sound proofing wonderful. The bathrooms are gorgeous original colored glazed tile, with large deco tubs and a separate shower stall, which is handy for couples. I lived on the top floor and the water pressure was always good.
The kitchens have loads of storage.
There are several closets in my unit I lived in, including one walk-in large enough for an office.
My favorite part was the very high ceilings, light, and storage.
NOTE: pet friendly
Neighborhood
It's a great mix of neighbors, very creative community, and very safe.
There is a Ralph's and local Korean Grocery store a few blocks away. There is also a 24 hour fitness within walking distance.
There are very good restaurants, besides the obvious Korean BBQ options, there is sushi and Thai on 6th st, and the famous Taylor's steak house and the original El Cholo, again all walking distance.
Transportation:
You're very close to the 10 with ease to the beach or downtown. 5-10 min drive to Hollywood and Larchmont village and the same to Sunset Junction. The Western metro stop is about 4 blocks away or so.
Overall:
Great people, beautiful space, and convenient location for the price.
