I received this unsolicited note on 09/17/16 from a disgruntled customer of Redondo Glass via Yelp. Quote: "You must be a friend of theirs my incident just happened please read my review I understand that you want to stick up for your friends business but being dishonest just like them is not the way to do it" My reply to that is: I'm neither a friend nor associate of Redondo Glass, and as a responsible Yelp Elite member, I tell it like it is, and my review is reflective of my experience with Redondo Glass, a very honest review from my personal experiences. So, this is not a case of sticking up for friends nor being dishonest. To the Yelp member who wrote to me: You're entitled to your opinions, and also can express your own experiences with Redondo Glass with your own review as you did, but please don't question the integrity of my review nor disparage me with false accusations. For that, as a Yelp Member, I give you " * " one star, as a member of the community, who happens to have a matching number of Yelp reviews to the writing of their review of just one review. If you're new to Yelp, contacting members with such notes are against the rules, since there are guidelines on Yelp as follows: Messaging Guidelines "Yelp has a handy messaging feature to keep you connected with your fellow yelpers. First off, please don't use this feature to harass other users or send other inappropriate content..." FYI - - I deem the note more inappropriate than harassing, and any further communication will be reported to Yelp.

Overpriced, Sandy is obnoxious and rude for no reason. Better options are out there.

We were happy with Sandy and had no problem leaving the deposit for glass replacement for our house.

My belated review is about my personal experience in January 2024…read more I wanted plain, clear glass cut into four (4) strips or panels [4.5" X 22 " wide] to lay across my aquarium, instead of the original, black plastic hood. The purpose was to allow both 'natural light' and 'artificial light from an overhead lamp' to shine through. I chose " thick glass, since that was the depth of the ledges that would support the glass and leave me with a 'flush surface'. What was this going to cost me? I went online and read several YELP reviews on various glass shops. I believe in supporting local businesses, so I drove to nearby IDEAL Glass and Mirror and met Ruby. She was kind and professional, just like other Yelpers described. I didn't get a quote on the spot, since the boss was out on a job. She promised to call me later with a price, when he returned. Ruby did just that by calling later the same day, but the price was beyond my budget ($132). We talked and she suggested that I consider ¼" thick glass instead for my purposes. Since their shop was about to close, she'll call me tomorrow with another quote. Reliable Ruby did call and the cost dropped to $80 for the thinner glass. I did not give them the contract, since I wanted to conduct some price comparisons with other shops. FYI: From my research, I learned that IDEAL Glass and Mirror was the cheapest. Another local shop quoted $144 for " thick glass and $92 for ¼" thick glass. Dependable and reliable service is as important as the product itself. And, Ruby delivered. Thank you. Present Day: Upon further consideration, since the glass panels will not support any weight, I am leaning towards " thick glass (which is the same as your typical, single pane window). How much would that cost me?

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with this business was so terrible that I feel…read moreobligated to warn others. My mother-in-law originally purchased a custom glass top for a coffee table here, but the measurements were incorrect and the glass did not fit properly. To fix the issue, I brought both the table and the glass back to the store so they could measure everything correctly and recut the glass. The owner, Dan, told me he was not completely certain whether the glass was tempered, but believed it was not and decided to proceed with cutting it anyway. During the process, their machine broke down, so I had to leave the table and glass there until they repaired it. Dan quoted me $10 for the job. Two days later, I received a call saying the glass had shattered during the cutting process and that I would need to pay $124 for a replacement. I explained that I did not believe I should be responsible for replacing the glass since they had inspected it, determined it was likely not tempered, and chose to proceed with the cut. At that point, the conversation became extremely hostile. Dan became very aggressive, insulted me repeatedly, and told me he "didn't give a f***" about me or my glass. He then threatened to throw my coffee table in the trash "if did not f***ing pick it up by the end of the day". What shocked me most was not the broken glass, but the way I was treated as a customer. I remained calm throughout the conversation and genuinely tried to resolve the situation reasonably, but I was met with outrageous profanity, insults, and threats instead. Everyone makes mistakes in business, but professionalism and accountability matter. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend avoiding this business.

When my parents' patio sliding door glass was accidentally shattered by their gardener's hedge…read moretrimmer, I immediately started researching companies and reading reviews on Yelp and Google. That's when I found The Glass Guru of Torrance -- and I'm so glad I did! Corey returned my call within minutes after I left a message and even came out personally to inspect the job and provide an estimate. He was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, honest, and patient in explaining our options. He gave us two choices: 1. Replace the glass, install new rollers, and replace the 30-year-old screen. 2. Replace the entire sliding door unit with a brand-new frame, tracks, door, and screen. I also received estimates from larger well-known companies like Renewal by Andersen and The Home Depot, but their prices were significantly higher and lead times were 6-8 weeks out. After thinking it through, replacing glass in a 30-year-old door that barely rolled and had a broken lock no longer made sense, so I called Corey back and ordered the complete new sliding door unit. What really impressed me was Corey's attention to detail. He personally returned to double-check all measurements because I had read horror stories about improperly sealed doors and installations that required tearing out plaster around the frame. Corey assured me they could install everything cleanly and professionally -- and he absolutely delivered. He originally quoted about a two-week turnaround, but the team actually completed the installation even sooner. The finished result is beautiful! The new sliding door operates perfectly, looks amazing, and the entire area was left spotless when they finished. Corey and his team provided exceptional customer service, outstanding workmanship, fair pricing, and excellent communication throughout the entire process. I highly recommend The Glass Guru of Torrance for any glass, window, or door repair or replacement needs! -- Julie

They gave us a great price and quickly came to the house to assess the job. They installed the glass quickly even though it was a challenge to get the old glass out. All throughout, the on-hand crew and Rose over the phone were friendly. But they chipped a piece of our new porcelain tile, which happens but is still unfortunate. And there were noticeable imperfections in the corner of one large piece of glass. That isn't their fault but they initially suggested it may be the glazing before the part was reordered, forcing another visit. Finally, I was assured more than once we would not need a support bar, even after I was upsold on higher glass, a change I'm glad we made from a suggestion the crew made. For structural integrity, it was eventually determined we'd need one (they paid for this hardware, which I appreciate). Sigh. The quality of the work appears to be just fine; I wouldn't be surprised if it lasts a long time. Also, the crew was always friendly, but with the issues we had and the number of visits it took, I can't recommend them.
