After the designer finished presenting the plan, I started to provide my first piece of feedback but the owner cut me off before I could finish and stated that the design phase was complete and that I would need to hire the company to perform the installation if I wanted any changes made. The interaction was unexpected and inconsistent with my understanding of the contract. The designer appeared uncomfortable, and I found the owner's tone rude, unfriendly, and intimidating. What should have been a collaborative discussion about minor revisions became an unpleasant experience.

The quality of work and attention to detail caused us to go back to The Narrow Lane again last Spring to do a total renovation and redesign of our back yard. While we were impressed by the quality of work and attentiveness to detail that we experienced with the first project we were absolutely blown away with what Jeremy, Matt, and The Narrow Lane were able to deliver for the backyard. It is truly a work of art and we are so happy that not only did we re-engage with The Narrow Lane for this project but that we gave them complete control over the design and implementation. Neighbors now stop by to explore the yard and we are known in the area as "that house with the amazing landscaping". Based on these landscaping experiences over the past year we have now also contracted with The Narrow Lane to maintain the gardens and yard during the growing season as well as to provide us with snowplowing and shoveling in the winter. I will admit that they are not inexpensive to work with but the prices are totally justified by the quality of work, the care and attention that they have brought to everything that they do, and their continuing care that they bring to our property. We have found everyone from the company that we have engaged with to be consummate professionals that bring a new level of care and respect to the properties they take on as projects. We called Mr. Argiro and within a couple of days, he came out to our house to assess the situation. We live on two acres but only needed about a quarter of that space to be reseeded. The owner was initially very attentive, he took a walk around the property with my husband and then said he would get back to us with an estimate. We waited....and waited...and waited. Then we called. We got the answering service with whom we left a message. No response. We called again and again. After 3 calls with clear messages left with the answering service we never heard from the owner again. We surmise it was not a "big enough" job for this guy to bother dealing with. We were not asking him to do anything other than to hydroseed a portion of the lawn and to care for the lawn until new growth was established. Needless to say we are disappointed in his "ghosting" us. It is very unprofessional and rude. Therefore, I cannot recommend bothering to call this company for anything. As the owner should know, sometimes smaller jobs that are well-done lead to bigger jobs down the line and certainly lead to recommendations. Major fail here.

As far as pricing, he was very competitive vs the company we went with, priced about the same on some items and as much as 20% cheaper on others. I would have no hesitancy using him in the future. If you know what you want done and don't need a full blown landscape design, give him a call!
