Visited Redlands Lock and Keys after a trip to Ford to get two fobs programmed and fixed. Lock and Key was able to program one fob and fix the other for a fraction of the cost. In total it took about 15-20 minutes while Ford said it would take at least two hours. The guys working were helpful and cool to talk to while they worked on the keys. I had a key made there and it didn't work when I got home, had to drive back there a few days later, when I had time, I had it remade, and it still dosent work.. so, I think I'm going to find a new key maker closer to my house. I came here because I lost one of the keys to my Hyundai Elantra, and when I tried to get a new one at the dealer, they said I needed to find a key place to cut it. What I wish I would've known before I went to the dealer was that instead of paying 20 something dollars for a new key, I could have paid five dollars for the new key at Redlands lock and keys. I called first and they were extremely helpful over the phone so I came in and was in and out in less than 10 minutes. So after calling giving my address and explaining my situation I am still left either no help. I explained a small piece of my key was stuck in ignition. So my driver arrives to wrong address and gets mad with me because they put 1 instead of 11 on my address so he is already upset when shows up doesn't even look and says there's nothing he can do that my mechanic should remove the entire ignition but then the key is till stuck? Wouldn't recommend them to anyone, the locksmith who showed up claimed to be doing it 20+ years and didn't need to look he just knew he couldn't do the job. Pathetic and waste of my time sitting around waiting on them to show up only to waste more time when I explained it is a small piece of the key that is left and was told "no problem we can get it done" without looking then told it's impossible to do again without looking. Highly recommend. I had a stressful lockout involving an ex and I was a hot mess. The tech was extremely professional about it. He knew the procedure and changed the lock very quickly. He suggested that I hang out with his dog while he prepared the keys and while the deputies dealt with my ex. Petting his lovely dog and talking about pets in general was the perfect distraction from the situation. i went it t get a spare key made for my truck fuel door. The young employee with dark hair screwed up and started grinding on the good key. He went out real fast to see if the key still worked and it didnt. He went back into the shop saying give him 5 mins. 2nd trip back to my truck and the key still didnt work. I tried it too and no luck. I had to get gas so i asked the guy to just pick the vending machine lock so i could get gas and i could change the lock later. 10 mins later it was obvious this guy didnt know what he was doing. He couldnt even pick the lock. I had to leave to go get gas and had to bust open the fuel door. I told them that when i left that they owed me a fuel door. When I finally found one i dropped off the bill. Juan, the owner, texted me saying since i broke my fuel door the cost was on me. No phone call, no hearing my side of the story. Juan said since i left before the guy could make a 2nd key that was the problem. If i had left without having a 2nd key made i would have still had my good key and wouldnt need to break into my fuel door. Obviously this young employee isnt being honest with his boss. The same young employee who coudlnt program a key fob for me a few months earlier. They had to call in another tech from the field after 40 mins of this guy screwing around. Totally unprofessional and the guy doesnt appear to be properly trained on locksmithing. Ive used this biz for many years but this is the first experience with this employee. I am having my car painted at Yucaipa collision on California Street in Yucaipa. I got a call from one of the employees that they couldn't paint the roof of the car because I have a luggage rack up there and if I had the me y, I bought the car used and never had a key , so that put a paint job on hold the roof was the main reason of having the car painted.
