I refused to pay it. 14 years later they have turned me over to collections. I have had no communication from them since 2011. I advised the young lady at the collection agency - Syncon - that I would not be paying this and that Dentfirst is breaking the law as the statute of limitations have expired - it's 6 years in Georgia. Contact me again and you'll be talking to my attorney. Oh and instead of collection agency calling me they called my 71 year old brother who has Parkinson's and was very upset by the call.

After seeking care from a new dentist, I was informed that several of my fillings were not done correctly and needed to be replaced. In one case, a filling was done improperly in a way that allows food particles to become trapped underneath it, leading to an unpleasant odor and concern about long-term dental health. These issues point to a lack of precision and attention to detail in the work performed. Dental procedures, especially fillings, should be done correctly the first time to avoid unnecessary complications and additional treatment. I hope Arena Dental Group takes steps to improve the quality and accuracy of their dental work to prevent other patients from experiencing similar issues. I paid for a lot of my fillings out of pocket due to insurance maxing out just for them to be done incorrectly. Now I'll have to pay again to get them redone. You won't be put to sleep but you will be prescribed medication to help you relax through your treatment if that's something you feel you can benefit from during a visit to to your dentist. The staff have all been so accommodating. I've had to come in between appts. due to new dental issues popping up and they've listen to my concerns and got me in as soon as possible. I have real trauma from past dental treatments and dental offices along with having a medical condition that doesn't allow me to lie flat on my back let alone with my head tilted back. I've had anxiety attacks just preparing for dental appointments for fear of having another dismissed/painful/mistreated experience. I say all of this because I feel I've finally found a dentist and dental office that understands the patient's perspective and is so Informative so I know why and what needs to be done for my individual treatment needs. It means a lot that I can voice that I really have issues with coming to the dentist as a fear and them not be defensive but understanding that past experiences have made it hard to make the appointment let alone sit for work every other week to get my teeth in an ideal state. I stopped going to this practice a couple of years ago after witnessing the staff loudly and openly arguing in front of patients during my last visit. My husband remained a long-term patient, but after his recent experience, he is leaving as well.Last April, my husband had a crown placed that was noticeably lighter than the rest of his teeth. When he pointed out the mismatched color, the technician dismissed his concern by claiming the material would eventually stain. They handed him a mirror and asked if he could see it when he smiled. While he could not see it with a normal smile, it was highly noticeable when he pulled his lip down. The dentist then came in, asked the same question, and insisted you couldn't see it rather than actually fixing the mistake. To make matters worse, I recently discovered an undisclosed $100 charge from that same visit. The amount he paid at the counter did not match our insurance company's Explanation of Benefits (EOB). When I called to ask about the discrepancy, the staff member was rude, defensive, and refused to listen. She claimed the $100 fee was for "upgraded materials" that they intentionally do not bill to insurance. It is frustrating that they completely neglected to ask him if he even wanted this unbillable upgrade, as he never would have agreed to it. They simply slipped this fee into his paperwork without any clear, verbal disclosure. Charging patients for unrequested upgrades, delivering sub par dental work, and treating concerned family members with hostility is unacceptable. Please check your teeth and your insurance EOBs closely if you use this office.

Do not be confused by the name of the dentist on this review site; Dr Verdin retired almost a year…read moreago and is no longer the practicing dentist at Fayette Family Dental; Dr Perry Joiner is the new dentist. And for as great as Dr Verdin was, Perry Joiner is so very not. You may see glowing reviews on other venues but the majority will predate Joiner taking over the practice. Most, if not all, of the old staff at Fayette Family is also gone. Dr Verdin and staff were our family dentist for over 25 years and they were fantastic. The new bunch, with the exception of maybe one or two, are pitiful. My experience with a root canal and crown procedure bordered on malpractice. Joiner knew it as well as his inept dental assistant. The front tooth in question had a crown I got when I was 13 years old; it lasted me over 50 years without a hitch, until I needed a root canal in that tooth. The root canal went okay but the new crown installation was a botch job from the word go. In removing the temporary crown the dental assistant broke off the remains of my original tooth onto which my new crown was going to be mounted ...just like the original. I knew my new crown wasn't going to work because the original tooth was gone. But the dental assistant, to my disbelief, tried to make it work; she had *no* idea what she'd done. She quickly grabbed my temp crown and yanked and when that didn't work she moved the temp back and forth, and cracked off the mount formed from my original tooth. This was a custom cast crown to fit on the old tooth and without the old tooth it was garbage. Joiner, amazingly, also tried to make the crown work. Rather than admit the mistake, put a dental post in place, and redo the crown to fit, Joiner put in some kind of ill-suited mount and cobbled the job. This crown lasted ten days before it came undone. I went back, angry, and they did what they should have done the first time; installed a post and ordered up a new crown. Joiner admitted to me he should have done this the first time and couldn't explain why he didn't. His apology to me was so disingenuous as to be pathetic. Not face to face, to allow me to question him, but while I was still being finished up by the inept dental assistant. The guy has all the people skills of a wet rag. And this latest crown? Lasted 8 weeks. The crown broke off today just before writing this. And yes, I've been more than careful with putting undue stress on the crown. Timing being everything, I got to experience a normal 6 month visit after the new crown was put in. All went well, the hygienist doing a very nice job. And then came the sales pitches for fluoride treatment and sealants. The gal just spent 20 minutes poking around my mouth; at age 65 I have *two* cavities and all but one wisdom tooth. And she's trying to sell me stuff to prevent cavities. Joiner blew in to do his check and it was just awkward; the guy has zero personality and no patient skills as a doctor. After these experiences, I'm done with Fayette Family Dental. I've filed a grievance against the dentistry through my insurance provider. If you're looking for a dentist in the Fayetteville area, I would strongly advise you to avoid Fayette Family Dental; there are much better choices.
