Communications is severely lacking, especially from the front office. Four times they said they would call me back, four times they didn't. Don't let them put you off, call them if they blow you off like they blew me off. Plus, the office manager lied when she said that the insurance company requires pre-authorization, Metlife does NOT require this. It took them over a week to get preauthorization and then, instead of calling me like they said they would, they sent a snail mail letter taking an additional five days! Then, when I called them, they said they had to order a part for my implant before they can do it. This is AFTER I told them that I had broken a tooth at the gumline that most dentists consider a dental emergency. Not this front office! I first met Dr. Brown in 2012 when I was living in Houston and a dentist there told me I needed four crowns after looking in my mouth fir thirteen seconds. I was not happy. Came home to GA to see my folks and my dad brought me to Dr. Brown. Yes I had cracked teeth, but nothing requiring a crown right now. That was a decade ago and I still don't have any crowns. Dr. Brown was wonderful. BUT, his head assistant/hygienist/whatever her title is, ruined his practice for me. My husband travels pretty much Monday through Friday, and so we take lots of pictures and videos of every day events, so he doesn't feel like he's missing out. My young son was going in for his first filling, and we thought he was gonna handle it like a champ, so I was recording, for him to proudly show daddy later. At the time, my attention was on him, and not the nurses in the background. When I played the video back, you can clearly see his lead assistant point at me and the camera, and then laugh and make fun of me with another assistant that was sitting there. I did contact the office, and sent the video over. Not much ever came of it. We no longer go there. It's hard enough wondering if the dental professionals are making fun of your mouth and problems when you aren't in the room. It's even worse when the do it on camera, especially considering she was making fun of the recording, so knew it was going. read more

For a chicken like me who had;had terrible experiences with "witch Dr. dentist", Dr Brown and staff was a bring released from the dungeons and seeing the light for the first time in to yrs! Being from out of town,and just stopping by after experiencing some pain In a tooth (that had;had a root canal just a few yrs ago) they took me right in! So fast I didn't have time for the fear to set In. Both staff and Dr Brown were professional and addressed my fears and concerns right off. By the time I was done, I was smiling and my fears gone! Oh you have to pay extra even though you got great insurance. The surprise payments kept coming. I went in for routine cleaning with no tooth pain and they said I needed a filling. The cleaning required 2 visits and co pays. The filling was done by a young doctor. My tooth hurt for 2 weeks after the visit. They also told me I would need to come back to get my teeth polished. 2 separate visits for cleaning and my teeth weren't polished. I'm looking for a new dentist. Enough is enough. read more

Very frustrated! I've been going to this practice a few years now. I scheduled my 6 months cleaning 6 months ago they called me a few days before saying I would need to reschedule it. So I rescheduled it further out because they said that's all they had. So I did. Well today I had an appointment at 3:30. They called me at 2 saying I had to reschedule the appointment due to a dr emergency and said I had to reschedule Again!!! I Told them don't worry about it. I'll take my business else where. The lady on the phone said I don't know what u want me to say. I'm sorry. Yeah! You should be sorry this is your 2 time having to reschedule my appointment due to a matter of the dentist office. So disappointed. This was my first visit because we are new to the area and they were recommended. I waited for about an hour which was frustrating because I had taken off work early. When I made it back to the chair I felt very rushed. The doctor spoke so fast and then told me he couldn't fix the tooth I came in for because their wasn't time.i made a follow up appointment that was longer to get the work done. Before I left work early I called to find out if they were running on time. After a long period on hold I was told they had canceled my appointment (which was confirmed the day before) and were dropping me from the practice. Seriously? Worked out well for me in the end because I found a better dentist that was kind and really listened. He also told me I didn't need a root canal and crown which saved me a fortune. read more

Great experience with an annual exam. I really don't give 5 Stars, but the service I received here is far better many others I've been to in 30 years. I had a very pleasant and highly skilled hygienist who loves her job and the family environment here. My dentist was friendly, talented, knowledgeable, and helpful. read more

I read some of these reviews and I don't know what some of you are talking about. I am not saying that I don't believe you about the cancellations and stuff, because that has happened to me there also. But to see Dr. Brown is worth it. Remember he is human too and his life has emergencies and unplanned things come up that he doesn't know about 6 months out, just like we do. Let me tell you that Dr. Brown does indeed not only know how to do veneers, he did veneers on me. I have Sjogrens Syndrome which destroys your teeth along with Lupus and couple of other autoimmune disorders. I could not work because of these issues. For ten years I tried to find someone who would help me. My mouth was so disgusting that I never took any pictures because of how bad my mouth was and my face looked burned and scarred due to what I thought was the Lupus. Someone recommended Dr. Brown to me. I almost did not take a chance on him because the best of the best dental specialist at Emory told me there was no hope for my mouth. What is some little McDonough dentist gonna do for me? I was terrified because to me dentist meant pain. He did everything in his power to calm me and reassure me as he examined my mouth and he never caused me pain. Then he told me he wanted to try to help me. He was willing to take a chance on me if I was willing to take a chance on him. He shut his office down for an entire day and I was his only client. He drilled and cleaned everything that was decay out of each one of my teeth. I never felt pain the entire time. When I left that evening my entire mouth was made up on temporaries on my teeth. But once the swelling went down a few days later, I had a beautiful smile. Little did we know that my teeth were poisoning my body and that was why my face looked the way it did. Within three weeks my face cleared up and was smooth and beautiful. He put the veneers on my front teeth and crowns on the rest because they were too far gone for veneers. Right after that I was able to get a job and I make sure I smile so that people can see my teeth in all my pictures. Ask Dr. Brown to show you the before and after of my mouth. I am not ashamed, I am proud and so thankful to him for taking a chance on me. Yes it cost to have this done, but I was able to finance it and get it done. No one else was even going to try to help me. I owe this man a debt I can never repay. read more

It's really hard these days to find a nice, up to date & clean dental office that's not trying to rip you off (especially on the south side). The front staff is amazing and have been since the scheduling of my daughters 1st appointment. My daughter is 14 and she seen Dr. Beckerman for a screening after being told by the rip off (Kool Smiles) that she had 11 cavities. After X-rays and a cleaning by a really friendly hygienist, I was told that she had only two cavities. It's been a really long time since I've been so any doctors office and seen the doctors walking around and engaging their clients. Dr. Brown's office participates in my insurance plan and charged me his full price knowing exactly the amount his office could charge and what the insurance company would pay. I have had a credit for 5 months now and still have not received my refund. I have called several times and even went by the office and his staff just keeps telling me the office manager is not in. I did speak with her in December and she told me it would be 2 weeks. Now I can't even get her to call me back. Unethical business practices. read more

DO NOT, go to this office for cosmetic dentistry. This was not only the worst dental experience I have had, but the worst experience of my life and not only that during my last year of college. My biggest mistake was trusting his office and not doing the proper research on him before going to him for cosmetic work. He is not a cosmetic dentist he is a general dentist who says he is one he is a prime example of a dentist who does not continue his education in minimal evasive dentistry. One of the easiest things to do in cosmetic dentistry is to do crowns for cosmetics. I'm 23 years old and instead of giving me veeners he gave me crowns because that's the only thing he can do it takes a skilled dentist in cosmetic dentistry to do veeners, you can go to a dental school and get crowns, which I have been told by other real cosmetic dentist. He has gave me more dental problems than I had ever dreamed of now I have to bite in to porcelain for the rest of my life probably, thanks to Scott Browns neglect to check my chart before the procedure or check my bite, his receptionist inability to check my new insurance before my procedure was done when we called two weeks before and told them that then we ask the cost she goes "oh I forgot I don't know what happened" I have had sooooo many issues,TMJ that I never had before, issues with my bite, and not even cosmetically happy with them very monochromatic in color and doesn't even match my teeth well. "Your just gonna have to get used to it at this point" is what he tells me. I tell them I am having jaw pain and clicking and there receptionist with no training in dentistry tells me "oh well we did crowns on your front teeth we didn't give you tmj" so I just pooped up with TMJ randomly...ok lady who answers the phone. Dr. Scott Brown may be a good general dentist but go in knowing his knowledge is limited and not by far modern and if he recommends you a crown please please go get a second opinion and almost guarantee that there will be other options for you. Look it up, see how many cosmetic dentist are "NASH" trained in cosmetic dentistry. slim to none. I'm not here to bash this mans business, or Docter Beckerman who is s really nice guy, I will say that and his bedside manner is great. I'm just warning you if your not happy with results or have issues you are screwed. I tried to explain my issues to them and the lady tells me well I'm not gonna tit for tat with you about it you still need to pay...like seriously you won't even listen to my problems that your office gave me like im just making it up cause I want to play around with my teeth or im just trying to get out of paying them when I had already made several payments until my issues staring coming up. I could care less about money when this is something I have to live with for the rest of my life! Just please please from the bottom of my heart do not go to this office for cosmetics you will regret it. There is nothing worse than being uncomfortable in your own body. Dr Brown and his professional dental staff are the best I have ever encountered. I was there yesterday for my regular cleaning and check up. They spend so much time with you and are so thorough. This is a group that always has their own smiles ready for their patients. You can see how much they sincerely enjoy what they do helping others. In addition, they are now preparing for a special event they give to the community each year. This Saturday is a free dental day at their office. People that need dental attention, and don't have the resources to be able to receive it, can go to their office Saturday morning (better get there early) and be provided a free service. Multiple dentists and all of the office staff will be working all day Saturday, donating their time and skills for the community. The excitement was filling the office yesterday as they were planning for this special day. The office has been beautifully decorated for Christmas early to welcome these patients Saturday. Dr Brown has been my dentist for many years and has done the best work of any dentist I have ever been to including new cosmetic veneers to replace some that were not good quality I received from a prior dentist. I drive an hour each direction just to continue to have Dr Brown as my dentist. What a special group of caring people. If I could rate them higher than 5 stars in this review I would. read more
