Every meal that I've ordered so far has been delicious! One of my favorites is the jambalaya!

First off the food was very good! (Almost 5 star)However, when you take the time to make a reservation and then you're seated at a pinchpoints table where people are consistently walking around you and bumping into you when there's other tables available it's very unfortunate. on top of that our waitress was more concerned about talking to the bartender and cooks versus serving us. Other waitresses visited their tables 3 times to the one time that she would frequent our table, but makes it even worse as we were her only table we came on a Sunday afternoon, and there was only six tables busy in the entire restaurant. I don't think will be returning was not impressed. I have eaten at bars in town with better service and seating awareness than here unfortunately. I ended changing my seating position as the staff kept choosing to walk between me and another table rather than take a few extra steps and walk around our table using the isle. I had to get up and go to the counter at the front to ask for additional items like ketchup as apparently she was not going to return anytime soon as she was eating what ever the cooks were giving her. 4 waitresses, 5 people in kitchen, 1 bar tender and I guess we drew the short straw when we got Mersadies our waitress. read more

Redemption is a welcome addition to Faribault's dinning scene. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food is quality at a price that is affordable for all. Visiting the area and a local took me to dinner at Redemption. It was great. We split the 14 oz ribeye, asparagus, and a wedge salad. It was all delicious and plenty for two to share. The wine list was not particularly great, but I'd go back anytime for that ribeye! read more

Worth the drive- awesome food in beautiful, clean renovated brick building. Great experience all around

We dropped in for dinner about 7:30pm on a Wednesday evening. The blue cheese wedge salad was huge and very fresh. if you get the full size one you can split between two people and still have leftovers to take home. We also ordered the bbq platter which overall was pretty good. The sausage was nice with a good snap to it. Nice grill marks across the slices. The pork was lightly smoked with a good flavor. The chicken was good but I would recommend a salt/sugar brine the night before being smoked. It will help it keep from drying out. Again still very good. That leaves the ribs. You get a half rack of small spares which is fine as long as they are smoked correctly and then if needed warmed up on the grill after being held. What we got was basically charred black with bones sticking out. They were hard to cut apart and frankly should have been put in the trash. We asked our server if the pit master had something a little less blackened and tough. The second half rack looked even worse than the first. We decided to have them take it off the bill at that point. The server looked like this was not the first time this had happened to her. We had good service excluding the ribs and left her a nice tip. We will definitely try them again and we loved the brussel sprouts too! The coleslaw was really good too. read more

We were really excited to try this restaurant! We traveled 45 minutes to get there for a Birthday celebration. The building and space was beautiful! We arrived early for our reservation and the server seemed annoyed. The service was terrible. The server did not get everyone's drink order and seemed inept. The server refused to put in our kids order first, claiming it all came out at the same time. The server was not personable and looked at their ordering phone screen the whole time. The server seemed annoyed that we were ordering too fast and they couldn't keep up with entering into their phone screen. The kids started to loose it because they were so hungry and the food took forever. The server could have at least brought out some crackers or something for the kids. We had to ask for more water and the kids never got a drink refill. We asked about the food and the server got annoyed and said they had a big party in the back. When we finally received our food, it was cold and all the adults received their food first. The kids were the last ones to receive their food. The server seems preoccupied and not present. All adults at the table had worked in the restaurant/serving business for over 30 years combined. In fact, our family owned a fine dining restaurant for many years. One adult paid the bill and did not leave that great of a tip due to terrible service. When that person who paid the bill walked out, the server approached the younger adult demanding that we answer whether her service was good because she did not receive a good tip. The server told this adult how much the bill was and what the other adult left. The server obviously was trying to get more money out of this younger adult. The fact that the server even approached this younger adult was completely unprofessional, awkward, and socially inappropriate. (She did it in front of a lot of other patrons.) The server then proceeded to go to the host station and complain about the tip as all the employees then glared at us as we left. The experience at this restaurant was highly disappointing and unless there are some major changes, I predict they will go out of business. read more

We were a bit disappointed with our meal this evening. My husband's Jumbalia was very good and served hot. My shrimp was good but the sides were cold not warm, cold. I got asparagus when I ordered a different veggie. The waitress did bring substitutes after flagging her down. My husband got the wrong cocktail delivered and needed to ask for the correct drink. I was just disappointed in the overall experience. read more

We are staying at camp faribo for the weekend, a perfect getaway from our home state of Iowa. Me and and my wife were looking for a place to eat for my birthday which is on Father's Day which we figured would be super busy, so we just got a little headtsart. So can I just begin to say how awesome the vibe of this place is and don't even get me started on the food. The food was some of the best food I've had in my entire life. Also my wife says the same. We had Claire as our server, and she was the the best (cherry on top) her service was awesome and how friendly she was is a 10 as well. Awesome place for a perfect getaway. read more

Stopped in for lunch. The place was empty except for one small group. The host steers us to a crappy small table five feet away from the bar. We asked for a window seat a small distance away. She seats us and says she will check with the server as she wants to be respectful of the SERVER with the extra distance she would have to walk. Screw the patron that chose your restaurant even when it's nearly totally devoid of customers. my sisters steak sandwich was awesome, my Asian noodle dish was disgusting: Rotten cucumber, raw stale peanuts, mealy tasteless noodles - just yuck. My sisters fries were done in old oil too. It's a nice space but the food needs to match the look. read more

Food and service was very good, we had a very nice meal. The issue is they let a pattron bring in a small dog, a Chihuahua I believe, wrapped in a blanket. Extreamly unsanitary! This animal was diffenetly not a service animal which are the only dogs that Mn will let in an indoor food service establishment. We will not be returning. read more

Poor service. Waited at our table for 10 minutes and no service. Finally went to the greeter and she got a server for us. Server was OK, but not great, didn't ask about drink refills or apologize for ignoring us to begin with. Food was decent. The place wasn't particularly busy and plenty of staff working. We road our bikes with our dog and stopped to have a beer. Was sitting outside in their out door seating and going to order food when the manager came out and told us rudely to leave and took our beer away. We decided at the last minute to head down to Redemption, for my husband's birthday. We are so glad we did! We enjoyed every aspect of our dining experience. The smoked wings with dry rub were scrumptious! My 8oz sirloin was tender and perfectly cooked medium; only feedback is that I would have enjoyed more char (or grill marks) on the outside, but I suppose that could be the difference with woodfire cooking as opposed to grilling. The garlic mashed potatoes and glazed carrots were delicious complements to the sirloin. Meanwhile, my husband LOVED his jambalaya; one of his all-time favorite dishes, and they got it just perfect. And my son loved his fall-off-the-bone ribs with the rosemary fries. We live close by, so we will definitely be back! It feels just right for casual dinner/drinks, as well as a destination restaurant for special occasions. We will tell our friends and family about Redemption! Thank you for braving a new restaurant opening, and all the risks that that entails, especially during this time of COVID. We sure hope that Redemption remains in that space for many years to come! read more

I took my family here for dinner tonight. The beef stroganoff was mushy and cold. The Walleye fingers were cold and soggy. We've been to Redemption before and loved it, so hopefully tonight was just an odd night. I've had the Beef Stroganoff prior also and it was amazing, which is why I ordered it again. Tonight was disappointing though, no one in our family ate the Stroganoff, it was that unpleasant. When asked about our meal, unfortunately management did not stand behind the quality of their product. They only offered a small discount on the dish. Disappointing dinner tonight. read more

Came for our anniversary and I had the chicken tortellini which was tasty but a little too salty for me. Also the sauce was a little thin. I suggested to the waite staff that a spoon or a piece of bread would be nice to serve with the tortellini to scoop up the sauce. She said she would relay my suggestion. Hubby had St. Louis ribs with fries and coleslaw. His comment was these are the driest ribs he has ever had. This is the reason for the 3 stars. He did say the fries and coleslaw were good. The staff is extremely friendly and they all seem busy and enjoying working here. Then there is the noise, so very loud! But we were told they were working on things that would help. Earlier this week and associate and I took another couple out for dinner. The other couple chose this restaurant and as a seasoned traveler I always use Yelp. Upon reading the reviews I was somewhat concerned about recent negative comments on service...That said, from the moment I walked in the door I was greeted with a smile and an offer to be seated which we did. Moments lat our server, Sky came and greeted me with a big smile and immediately took our drink order. Sky continued be be helpful as I asked for recommendations to order for and entree and she immediately offered a few suggestions. After the other couple arrived our great service continued and eventually we ordered our dinner and once again Sky offered an idea for an appetizer...we took her advice an ordered the steak bites...FABULOUS!! When she later delivered their meatloaf it literally melted in my mouth it was so good I gave everyone a bite and they loved it too!! I want to shout out to Sky and all the staff who served us with wonderful food! Super evening!!! read more

Walked in the door to a horribly smokey atmosphere, and after waiting not too long to be seated, (about the only plus last night) we were crammed into a basement, (great ambiance) and once a server came to our table to take our dinner order, the entree I selected was sold out. So, chose another. Sold out. Another, sold out, and still a fourth, sold out!!!! Finally settled on a salad, which maybe had at best, a tablespoon of dressing on it. Thoroughly frustrated and disappointed. I feel sorry for the poor servers working there having to work in the smoke and tell the patrons their selection for dinner isn't available. At the prices they charge for their food, you'd think they'd at least have it available to sell. read more

For a sleepy little town, this is a fantastic restaurant! Food was prepared quickly, and the portions were almost perfect. The only drawback, because the food is good, on Friday night they were out of a couple of their best selling items before 8 o'clock. That is the only reasonable complaint. Also, the service was excellent. Especially Maisey! We had her for both dinner and then lunch the following day. Even though the restaurant was understaffed, she was more than willing to take another table just so we could be seated. That restaurant is lucky to have her. read more

I really wanted to give this place a good review but I have to knock off two stars out of five. I had reservations for 3 today at 1230pm 4/3/2022, via email Wednesday, March 30th, Craig Korvela. Walked in, no reservation, it was lost, and I was asked to find my confirmation when tables were open. I think a manager (women) finally helped but I was talked down too and told to call, never use email again to make a reservation, sounds like there is a little hostility there with the person I did make the reservation with. She continued to be snarky and demeaning me even after we paid our bill and got the heck out. Our waitress and the food were amazing but as for the lack of respect I received from the lady manager I will never return. Very sad that I had to have this type of experience as I was really looking forward to having a great experience! read more

My wife and I get to the Faribault area often from the Twin Cities and we had heard great things about Redemption so a couple of months ago we decided to check it out. We went for dinner and were very pleased with the meals, service, etc. I ordered the bison meatloaf which was excellent and unfortunately is not on the menu now while my wife had the shrimp and sirloin dinner which was also very, very good. With that experience we decided to check it out again last week but this time it was an extremely disappointing meal. It didn't start out well as apparently they lost our reservation but that wasn't too bad because they were still able to seat us right away. I ordered the beef stroganoff while my wife had the rotisserie chicken with sides of an italian salad and mushrooms. Her mushrooms were cold and had to be taken back to be reheated while the chicken was barely warm and had an odd taste. Meanwhile my stroganoff was a bowl of mostly mushy noodles with mushrooms and very little beef. Honest and I'm truly not saying this to be snarky but I've made Hamburger Helper stroganoff that was better than what I had there. We also put in an order for garlic bread which would have been fine if it actually had some garlic in it. It could be one of the problems was an overworked kitchen staff because they had also opened the downstairs part of the restaurant but either way it was obvious whoever was responsible for food quality control was missing in action. Anyhow we would like to say we'll give Redemption another try but at this point that adventure was so disappointing it may take a long time. read more

The waitress couldn't have been nicer, but it took 2 hours to get food and they did not want to comp anything. The food was really good but will not go back after how the manager treated us. We were in Rochester, MN at MAYO Clinic (and received some good news!) and decided to explore this area of Minnesota. The very neat town of Faribault pulled us in for the historical woolen mill, but will pull us back for a second visit because of Redemption Kitchen and Cocktails, an unexpected culinary delight on 31 Third Street NE In Faribault. Our waiter, Charles, was so helpful and recommended the Happy Hog sandwich and the sweet potato tots. We took a chance....and Charles was so right! This sandwich was such an explosion of deliciousness, highlighted by the savory sweet potato tots, that we left nothing on the plate! We asked Charles for his suggestion on dessert, and once again he was spot on. We ate every crumb of the turtle cheesecake - with its light and creamy cheesecake base on a stand out graham cracker crust. The candied pecans that accompanied the twists of chocolate and caramel over the top were the perfect addition to an already perfect dessert. If you have the opportunity to travel to Faribault, MN to check out this neat little town, be certain to book a stop at The Redemption Kitchen and Cocktails restaurant....you will not be sorry you did. We are going to drive back through Faribault on Friday for lunch....guess what we are ordering? I can't wait!! read more

I have been here several times when they have been slammed with business, food is good and wait staff was excellent. Today I was there around 1 pm. It wasn't busy, lots of empty tables, no rush. After 20 minutes of waiting for waitress to acknowkedge our existence we asked another waitress for help. She went to our assigned waitress to inform her we needed her. She totally ignored us and chose to clear an empty table instead. We got up to leave and our waitress was at the hostess station waiting for new people. It was very disappointing as I had waited all week to enjoy a meal at this place. Had she even taken our drink order I would have been fine giving her time but she ignored us completely. She had a bad attitude. Going out for a meal has become a precious commodity. It will be a long time before I return and I will be talking about this experience, it was her attitude and lack of caring about her job that made me get up and leave. read more

Came in Sunday at 11.30 was seated right away, waited 30 minutes to get a wait staff to service our invisible table. Ordered drinks waited again was told they were out of bloody Mary mix (during our stay we watched several people being served the same drink we could not get. ) food was not very good seemed like left overs not quality goods, had to flag down a server to get our bill, over priced for leftovers. Love going to Redemption. Staff is friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Great ambiance -- we love sitting at the bar. High quality food and drinks. They change their menu sometimes -- on the current menu I highly recommend the Louisiana Shrimp and the Steak Crostini. (We like to order several appetizers and share.) The price is very reasonable in light of the quality of the service, food and drinks. read more

We ate here last week. What a gorgeous setting. The restoration is impeccable. They also have a living plant wall. We were there for breakfast and the clientele was older but the music was loud and for the bar crowd. They were nice about turning the music down when asked. The coffee was great. The food tasted great, however, I like my food hot and it had started to congeal when delivered. All three of us had lukewarm food. The waitress offered to take it back and reheat but there were only five tables of people so hot food shouldn't be a stretch. The food was delicious but turned cold before I could eat half my breakfast. Good for a diet. Bad for a restaurant. read more
