I tried both of the hot chocolate drinks to make the trip worth while. There was the Tiki Torched Brûlée Bliss that has an brûlée donut and sugar coated fruit skewers. And there was the That Flan-tastic Purple Yam that has a tune (purple yam) flavour theme and stacked with lostof Filipino desserts like flan, pandesal,and ube cup cake. The matcha mango was also good. The blackberry lavender matcha was too floral for our liking. However, eventually you get used to it and then it becomes more enjoyable. The pandesals were super fresh and we loved both the ube and strawberry butters that came with it. I wish that they came a bit warmer, so that the butters could have melted a touch. I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 sandwiches. I especially loved the arugula on the mozerella sandwich. The blackberry brie sandwich could have used a touch more brie, but was still delicious. The cheesecakes were good, but a bit too sweet. The strawberry was my favorite. I enjoyed tasting multiple flavors. Their red velvet cupcake was extremely moist. The pistachio malasada was cute and flavorful. The filling to pastry ratio was good. I think that the experience could have been better balanced if there were a few more savory items. One thing that we noticed was that all of the pastries including the malasada were cold. I can understand that there are some food safe requirements that need to be met in how desserts are stored. However, letting them sit out for even 20-30 minutes before consumption would have been better.

The inside of the cake was moist and had a nice texture however, Just a little bit of feedback the icing on the cake was a thick slab of butter. Usually butter cream is sugary sweet and rich, but the cake must have been made by a trainee, because they forgot to add flavour tot he icing. It must have been a mistake because it tasted odd. The muffin was super oily, where it seep through the wrapper and bag, which is shocking because the muffin was actually dry and crumbly...not sure how that works. The muffin also lacked any filling, so it was dry and plain, other than the topping, which was way too sweet. The cookie wasn't that bad, I wished that they used dark chocolate because it was really sweet, and a bit hard. The best cookies for me are the ones that are crispy on the outside but soft in the inside, which this one is hard throughout. I personally don't like sweet things so if you have a sweet tooth, definitely check it out - but I was surprised about the muffin as I never seen such an oily muffin before but that's also dry.

I went back today to try the Smashburgers I've been seeing online. First site was wowed by the dish but skinny fries are not my fave. I have to say the fries were good as they had some bigger ones hidden in the pile. Gravy was really good, a bit peppery but I like that. The burger was delish! Perfectly cooked with great flavour, the sauce and veggies were good and bun was an excellent match for that burger. It's too bad they only serve this week days between 10-2:30 because if I didn't have the day off may never had the opportunity to try it. They should have it on weekends too! And make thicker fries. In the display case they have the "cakes" made in Styrofoam and the real cakes are frozen. I think this had a hand in the dryness of the cake. I also bought a Butter Horn pastry which was really good. It was not frozen so it did taste fresh. I would like to try them again but only if it is fresh and not frozen.

The bakery isn't huge but has a great selection and the goods are great quality to boot. I picked up an apple fritter, beef sausage roll, and two cookies for the kids, a Smartie and sugar one. Apple fritter was just freaking awesome!!! It tasted super fresh and it was a good size for the price with chunks of apples and just the right amount of crispiness. Beef roll was a bit spicy but really filling and it's hard to find a great sausage roll that isn't made by a machine. I will be making another trip out here and want to try out their Fort Bread as it looks delicious.
