It hasn't. I give up. While the store was neat and well-stocked, the prices just always seem ridiculous. Even the clearance item markdowns weren't all that impressive. It really bothered me the number of soles that it looked like someone had been dancing around the store while wearing the shoes. On another note: The service was commendable and the cashier was helpful. Although I found what I was looking for, I doubt I'll return. __ I eat. @f.hux I thrift. @DCthriftish

I recently visited two Encore Shoe Store locations--Springfield Mall and Potomac Mills--while…read moresearching for two specific Sketcher models I had found online. Sketcher makes durable, comfortable sport and casual shoes with wide fit, and I wanted to try on two styles in different sizes. Online sources indicated that the largest Sketcher selections in Northern Virginia were at Potomac Mills and Springfield Mall, but none mentioned that both stores were operated by Encore, which I discovered only after walking the malls. **Springfield Mall - Positive Experience** The Encore store at Springfield Mall was well managed and provided excellent customer service. A young salesman approached me promptly when I needed assistance. He was knowledgeable about sizing, accurate in measuring my foot, and helpful in evaluating the fit of different widths. He offered guidance without any sales pressure. Although the specific style I wanted was not in stock, the professionalism and competence of the staff made the visit worthwhile. **Potomac Mills - Disappointing Experience** My experience at the Encore store in Potomac Mills was very different. Three employees were on the sales floor, but none acknowledged me or offered assistance. They appeared to be engaged in personal conversation, though I cannot say for certain. When I approached them and asked for help, I was directed to a new employee who openly stated she did not know how to measure feet or advise on fit. I then asked the two employees at the register--there were no other customers in the store at the time--for assistance. One handed me a measuring device as if I should measure my own foot. When I explained that I needed a salesperson to help, she accompanied me but stated she was not good at measuring or fitting shoes. I asked if someone with more experience could assist, and we eventually worked through the process, but it was clear that the staff's primary skills were limited to taking money and operating the register. I also shared that I was accustomed to shoe stores where employees are trained to help customers determine proper fit. I did not sense much interest from the staff in learning or improving in this area. **Conclusion** Based on my experience, I would recommend the Encore store at Springfield Mall for anyone looking for Sketchers or other shoes, due to the knowledgeable and attentive service. I would not return to the Encore location at Potomac Mills, as the staff there did not demonstrate the training or customer‑service skills needed to assist with proper shoe fitting.

As everyone knows, I'm a huge Converse/sneakerhead, but when I saw that Vans had a collaboration with Nintendo (my other love), I just had to check them out! The shoes are pretty comfortable, and I like that they have the styles for those who are just into laces, those who like the hi-tops, and those who like slip-ons. Staff members are friendly, and check-out was a breeze. Just note that you can also make easy purchases online and returns are hassle-free! I'm glad to see a Vans location closeby - be sure to check their goods out! +Nintendo collaboration! :D +located in Springfield Mall, near Target, next to H&M

I always give a Puma store a visit when I see one. They have become my shoe of choice. However,…read moreeven with that, I still look for shoes that seem to have been discontinued. Each store, no matter which outlet they are located in, all look the same. This one is no different. Same dark walled, well lit box of a space. I went directly to the men's section to check out what they had available. I went up and down the aisle a few times, saw a few options, but weren't exactly what I was looking for. Throughout the search of the aisle, I was approached several times to see if I needed any assistance. The first time, I didn't notice because I had my music going. The next time, I made eye contact with the guy and told him I was good. I also made a once over of the clearance section. Not much there. I am going to have to check out other locations when I stumble upon them. Not a bad location, but you kind of have to keep coming back as the stock rotates.
