I was really looking forward to visiting this place, but I was kinda disappointed because I arrived when it was closed. However, this place never disappoints. I can't leave a bad review just because I didn't check the schedule. The location has ample parking, which was really convenient, and the place was very clean. The landscaping and surroundings are absolutely stunning, and the interior is just as beautiful. I can't wait to go back when it's open and experience it fully!

We only stopped here to see the giant boot and the museum. No shoe shopping for us (actually I never realized how expensive these boots are!) We love quirky attractions like this so we knew we had to detour here from our drive down the Mississippi River on the Wisconsin side. We found parking right out front and stepped inside to be greeted but the giant boot. It is wonder! The very small museum upstairs from the boot was interesting and I learned a few things about the history of the company and their products. The videos on how they make the boots was also very good - boy are we geeks! If you are fans of oddities then do stop.

Super friendly staff, constantly ready to help us find the right fit and best shoe for our needs! The museum and history of the historic Red Wing Shoe company is located on the top floor with the sales and service on the main floor and outlet/specialty shoes in the basement. When you walk in, you're immediately surprised by the GIANT authentic Red Wing boot...big enough to live in! We appreciated the candor and guidance by the staff on both the main and lower levels. However, I would have appreciated a larger variety of women's work boots in the lower outlet and main floors. Even the staff female member agreed Red Wing lacks inclusive sizes for people (particularly females) with larger or smaller than average feet.

I'm a 240 pound scientist, so I spend all day on my heavy feet, stomping around the laboratory. I am consequently brutal to my shoes - a cheapo pair of Sketchers can fall apart in two months with the way I burn through them. I have to look professional though, so it's hard to split the difference between utility and appearance. Enter Red Wing. I was advised by a hard-working brother to grab a pair of these and elevate my durability game. I picked up a pair of 2962's, the Blacksmith Yuma round toe style, cork sole. Break in was about five weeks, but man, it's all good after that. Great fit, super thick, obviously high quality leather and stitching. I returned them to the factory for service after three or four years of hard use. They resoled and polished up for $125.00, even threw in a nice tin of mink oil. Mink does darken them a bit with repeated use, but it's OK. These boots are beloved and have saved me money over time. Not too many times you can say something paid for itself, but this time it's a definite. Great shoes!

First off we had a young woman by the name Deni. She was excellent. She helped my husband actually get into a boot that will help his feet and in turn help his back. We both got measured by computer graphics. I'm an average foot but not my husband and that is how we found out he was buying wrong sized boots. We ended up spending $800 but we felt it is worth the cost to get the right boot! Also Red Wing is a pretty neat town.

This is a very neat museum on the foundation if the Red Wing Shoe Company and his their boots are made. Free and open to the public. It can be easily seen in 15 to 30 minutes. A must see if you see if you are ever in town.

Well this is where is all happens and started.. Red Wing Boots are the highest in quality and presence in this community! I dug that not only is this a really sweet store, they have an incredible BOOT MUSEUM and the largest Boot ever to take selfies with.. The store is immaculate and the staff was super sweet! I wasn't heading in looking to buy anything, but you should still check it out even if you are browsing.. Cause the store is legit! And who knows you might end up with something to take home..

Great customer service! Took the time to help us find the perfect pair of winter boots.

Postman shoes. 3.5 years. Still good condition after 2nd re-sole.

Love Red Wing shoes and boots. Most of their products are made in the U.S.A. The quality is superb and shoes and boots here last years. They'll cost you though anywhere from $200 - $300+ a pair. Having worn many work boot brands thru two decades, I could say that Red Wings are the best I've had. I also have a pair of Post man shoes which I use for office and casual wear. It's has a great vintage look and made of Chaparral leather. The same leather used for leather seats in Ford Trucks of decades past. So, they're durable and in fact what policemen and US postmen used to wear back in the 1950's. I've had my Postman shoes for about 3.5 years and wear them half the time. So with excessive wear on the soles, I've had them re-soled twice already. Any Red Wing store will take them and ship them out. Re-soling is about $100 and they'll touch up the inside of the shoe if need be also for any loose threads. This review is primarily for customer service. I took my shoes the Pasadena, CA location who mentioned it would take 4 weeks to re-sole since I took them just before the holidays. The Pasadena store shipped them to the Red Wing Store location in Red Wing, MN to make sure they have the factory soles and they'd re-sole them to spec. My gripe is their customer service. 4 weeks goes by and I call the Pasadena office a few times with no call back. When I do get a call, they tell me it's another week or whenever they're done because of the Holidays. One week later I call, leave 3 voicemails and when someone calls back, the same thing, a few more days. 7.5 weeks later.. I finally get my shoes with no apologies. I'd expect better than this. I'm all for Made in the US but I'd expect better customer service by them calling me and giving me updates and providing express shipping for their late service.

I don't need steel toe shoes but if I ever did, this would be the first place I would come to. With that, there wasn't much that interested me but it is a store everyone should stop into as it's unique and interesting!

I went here with Debra R, Jose R and a few other people. We bought some boots and saw the museum. The place was kind of cool.

But thanks to…read moreElliott, I left with a great pair of boots and a surprisingly enjoyable shopping experience. Elliott was incredibly helpful and informative. He took the time to sit down with me and help me try on a pair of shoes, something I honestly haven't experienced since I was a kid. That kind of service really stood out to me and made the whole visit feel more personal and thoughtful. He helped me find the right fit--while I usually wear a size 12, we landed on an 11 1/2, and it felt perfect. He also explained what to expect from the boots over time and how to take care of them properly. It wasn't just a sales pitch; it was honest guidance. What I appreciated most? Zero pressure to buy. In fact, Elliott even mentioned the discount store downstairs, which says a lot about the store's integrity. Personally, I'm much more likely to make a purchase when I'm given space after a helpful introduction--and that's exactly what happened here. I ended up making a purchase I felt great about, and I can't wait to wear these boots this fall. Highly recommend stopping in--even if you're just browsing.

WARNING Buyer Beware Vasque: Trust on the Trail is their motto.....NOT!…read moreI recently purchased a pair of Vasque Women's Skadia Ultradry Snow Boot I do a lot of hiking and urban walking. These are warm, dry and comfortable for the three days I have worn, but..... I had a very serious malfunction occur due to lacing system on boots. While walking, the lacing system and eyelet/grommet failed causing me to fall head first flat down on concrete sidewalk. I ended up with a huge knot above my right eye and serious swelling and bruising to my right eye along with scrapes and bruises on other areas. I was lucky something more serious did not happen, especially when hiking! Scary to say the least. Days after, I am still experiencing pain and bruising is still worsening around eye. Lucky to not have lost eyesight in right eye! I did go to doctors. Contacted the company RED WING Shoe Boot company who makes these boots, explaining to them what happened along with photos. Received an unsatisfactory answer...all they said was to return to original seller. Seller has nothing to do with faulty lacing system. Seriously!? Buyer Beware
