You'll…read morefind the charming delicatessen and shop on the north side of US 70 in the west end of McEwen, TN. Five stars for a road-side business? Yep. This humble establishment is shining full-on and out-classing others in more expensive places (that should be taking notes or otherwise be ashamed of themselves!) Expecting white bread and bologna?? It's there, but part of a menu that offers the best selection of sandwich meats (15 to 20+?,) cheeses, and artisan sandwich breads I've encountered in a long, long time. They simply do it well. I suspect you'll be hard pressed to find anyone else stocked to produce velvety smooth liver loaf on a cheddar and jalapeno bread (not sorry that I was too busy enjoying my meal to snag a pic.) It was not only tasty, it was beautifully done. It's not over-the-top and it's not high-volume. It's clean and truly memorable. There's a variety of sodas, teas, and coffee. Yes, they sell marmalade...and fudge...and top-notch prepared salads to-go...breads, bubblegum cigars...cookies...sauces...and just explore the shelves to find yourself smiling. You're in the country and your mileage is only likely to vary by the road that brought you there. So, enjoy the porch...the picnic table... or your car seat. All orders are for carry-out (no indoor dining.) Take time to smell the flowers and enjoy the potted plants which brighten the place (and are also for sale.)
