I had my sister's baby shower cake done here. I had a bubble theme in mind and they were able to…read morework out a design over the phone based on what I was describing. It was really simple and hassle free which i really appreciated bc it wasn't cookie cutter with preset designs. They cake itself turned out super cute and everyone at the shower loved it. It was a vanilla cake with a raspberry filing and butter cream frosting. It had quite a bit of design on the outside with water and bubbles but the frosting wasn't hard or pasty which we really liked bc sometimes places will only want to do fondant which I dont care for. The cake itself was still really smooth and my sister was happy with no fondant. We did a 10 inch round which was more than enough for 25 people and I loved loved loved that there wasn't an outrageous charge for the base board on a round cake (that has happened to me at other places....a lot!) All in all I would definitely use them again. I saw that they had actual animal shaped cakes which is what first peaked my interest so now I'm thinking next time maybe an armadillo cake... kinda in the Steel Magnolia style?? I'm weird I know, definitely would have to be red velvet though! :)

So impressed with every sweet treat I've received from Sugar Magnolia Bakehouse! I've purchased…read morecookies previously from pop-up sales and I've always been satisfied. I recently ordered cookies for my daughter's 3rd birthday and they were better than I could have imagined! The process was smooth from start to finish - order form was simple and easy, invoicing was straightforward and I was contacted before order pick-up to confirm details. Definitely recommending to friends and will use in the future!

I stopped into this small bakery, which is situated next to a new hair salon... which itself is…read morewhere my old friend Linit had his Best Donuts shop in the past. I was curious to see what they had compared to Linit's goodlicious fresh donuts, kolaches, and other morning goodies... as he had a solid FIVE STARS from me and I'm sure pretty much everyone else who had crossed his threshold! It was sad to have him move out of state and lose all those goodies... but... Anyway, walking in I was greeted by two smiling faces and one sleepy one... the young daughter of the owner. She's not quite two, but is adorable! I asked if I could take pictures and got the okay... they're not quite finished with everything, but have opened and are working around getting everything else put in place. I have to say WOW on what's in their bakery cases... it's edible ART. BEAUTIFUL. Abel, the owner, came from LA to the little town of Shelbyville to escape the madness that is California; he lived there 15 years. He and his wife are so sweet... I feel like family! They are so welcoming... This is a more Hispanic type bakery than an "American" type... and the bakery cases are filled with breads almost too pretty to eat... cheesecakes, tarts, flan, many gorgeous sweets I have no idea what they are but I want... mega YUM... beautifully decorated cakes and pies that one doesn't normally see around here... it's a literal feast for the eyes before you ever buy anything to eat!!! (I do need to brush up on my Spanish, as English is their second language... but Abel's English is fantastic. No one will have a problem understanding anyone, I don't think.) They offer free coffee with purchase, and if you had been there when Abel had brought out a fresh tray of croissants straight out of the oven... I'm talking SWOON!!! Oh yeah... y'all have to stop in. You really do. The visual makes you want one of EVERYTHING. I think he and his family will do well. Wedding cakes or quinceañeras... parties... birthdays... Abel and his lovely family can handle it beautifully; literally AND figuratively!

I was driving through Shelbyville and saw a bakery :) it was cute . They had pan dulce bread , flan…read more, tarts ... I got a pastry . It was sooo good I will be back if I ever taking. A road trip .
