This truck is alright by me…read more The pulled chicken is delicious. It's moist and has really good flavor. We had the Dyl sandwich (not really sure what the actual full name is). I appreciate that the bread is homemade, and that it's a pita/naan type bread. However with all the wetness of the chicken, it got real mushy real fast. Not so bueno, especially when you're eating at a park on the ground. The fries are a waste. They were bland and also pretty mushy. I'd consider ordering from here again because the chicken meat itself was delicious, but considering all the other trucks that come to the event local to my fiancee's house, there's better options.

Okay, oasis is pushing it a little bit yet it isn't a mirage, either. They were out of most of the things on the menu when I got there and they had done a poor job of keeping their sign up to date, leaving me with few options and a mouth fixed for barbecue. I ended up going with a brat and while it was good, there wasn't anything special about it and not even any barbecue sauce to go with it, either. Watching the husband and wife duo running the truck argue turned the experience into dinner and a show, too!

Upon opening the box once again meaty looking pink ribs, this picture was taken with a better cell phone camera than my last posting so a truer look at the meat. See my pictures. They smell amazing by the way. The grill marks are a good sign also. At first bite once again that smoke taste paired with a charcoal grill flavor. I have not seen the cooking process so I don't know how this is achieved. These are not the steamed texture type of ribs but the smoked style with a good chew to them. They are sauced with a thin mild smokey glaze like sauce that complements the meat and doesn't mask the true flavor of the meat. They are meaty and not all bone like some places serve so they satisfy. Once again I have not had any sides or other meats to review. Over all if you want big BBQ / Grill flavor and I mean real flavor this will satisfy. This is my second tasting and I'm a fan. The meat stands on its own here and is better than 90% of the BBQ places I have tried. See my pictures.

As Rachel pointed out in her Roll MKE review, I'm a BIG fan of the Roll MKE guys (and I may have eaten there about 6 Tuesdays in a row) but look out, they now have some stiff competition from the Eats & Treats Truck. I had heard about them through a story in the Journal-Sentinel but have never seen them around on a Tuesday at Schlitz Park, so when I heard they were coming today, I had to give them a try. First and foremost, the service is outstanding. I hate that I will probably end up comparing everything to the outstanding quality I've gotten from Roll MKE....but Christine couldn't have been nicer. I mean, what other food truck offers you fresh-popped popcorn while you wait? Have you been to a movie theater lately? Popcorn is REALLY expensive! Nice touch! Secondly, let's take a look at their menu. They seem to specialize in Waffles and Burgers. What a combo. And some of their waffle creations sound a bit intriguing, and also insane. Who would have ever thought that a beer brat waffle would be a good idea? I was certainly intrigued....but the newspaper review said the burgers were the star of the show. So, the burgers. I'm a bit of a burger connoisseur. I've had about a hundred bland burgers in Milwaukee, and a handful of delicious ones, and this one fit right towards the top of the delicious ones. Hand-pattied burgers, the real deal. The bun was amazing, the burger patties were damn near perfect, and everything was just great. The only minor complaint was that most of my cheese somehow ended up on my wrapper, which was a little sad, but not enough to ruin the party in my mouth. I'd really like to try a waffle next week, but not sure how crazy I'm going to get with it. Between Roll MKE and these guys, it might be a matter of who parks closer to my office door next week!

This burger had cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon jam, and burger sauce. It also came with chive fries...mmmmmm chive fries. They were pretty busy, which I generally take as a good sign, but I had to wait about 10 minutes for my burger. Not bad of a wait really. They called my name and presented me with my burger and fries. It looked great! I hurried by to my office, eating the delicious fries along the way. They were crispy, hot, salty, with just enough chives that you knew they were there but they didn't overpower. I dug into the burger as soon as I sat down. It was fantastic! The burger was cooked to a perfectly pink medium. The bacon jam was amazingly flavorful! I have no idea what burger sauce is but it was great. The lettuce and tomatoes were nice and fresh too. The sesame bun was nicely toasted and the cheddar cheese was nice and melty. I liked that the bun held up well and didn't fall apart while I was eating it. I was in burger heaven! I sure hope this food truck will come by regularly. The rest of their sandwiches sounded great too and I can't wait to try them!

I ended up back for a Taco Ruck with friends this spring and everyone in my group raved about the tacos and corn cup. I've been back again for breakfast and dinner and they always exceed expecations. Add in some drinks @ Boone and Crocket on a summer day with the waterfront view and you'll be having a great time!

But now that I've had Double Dub's in my life all other wings are nothing compared to them. The wings are perfectly cooked and dripping with sauce. Big juicy wings that there are plenty of meat on so you don't feel like you're not getting what you paid for. Service is always super fast, and I appreciate that they give you pagers so you don't have to keep track of when your food is supposed to be done or be standing around waiting but the truck. I like that they stuck with the theme throughout the naming of their sauces, the different meals that are offered, and the decor of their truck. The staff has always been super nice and helpful for answering questions. Also this is the only establishment I've found where I will order the fries every single time over the tater tots. I've had their tater tots and they're perfectly good tater tots, but Double Dub's does something to their fries that makes me want to get a job there just to know how they're made and seasoned. I dream of both their wings and fries, and I may have a new final last meal now that I've discovered the wonder that is Double Dub's.

Anyway, I couldn't resist the smell of the tortillas and had to try them out! Their menu on the truck has no pricing, which I didn't like so I researched online and found they have an actual location (which I'll try soon) but food truck prices are usually a bit higher. That was the case here, and after asking the prices I went with the birria tacos over the quesadilla. Tacos were $4 and included the protein, onions and cilantro in two corn tortillas. The wait was longer than I was expecting at about 15 minutes but they do give you a buzzer to know when it's ready. I added some of the orange salsa to my tacos which was good! After eating just one I was feeling a little full, they didn't skimp on the fillings. Overall I thought it was pretty good but not necessarily a taco I'd dream about. I'd get it again if I was near their truck but would try other options too.
