Working with Destiny Olsen was one of the best decisions we made during our first pregnancy…read more Immediately upon meeting her during our initial consultation, we felt connected and a huge relief that she was able to walk us through our first pregnancy. Destiny is a guide, sacred witness, educator, incredibly skilled and knowledgeable in the birth world, but most importantly a present, loving, and deeply respectful human. She supported us throughout the whole process and was available for check/ins, meetings, and provided us with so much helpful information, resources, and referrals in the birth community.  She is a throughout communicator and is very organized and well connected in the birth community. She is deeply respected as an expert and we felt trustworthy of her and her recommendations/information provided.  If you are exploring a birth doula or postpartum doula, I truly cannot recommend Destiny more. She is a delightful human to be in your circle during such a potent time as pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She brings knowledge, evidenced base research, as well as an embodied, heartfelt, intuitive wisdom.

When it came time to labor and delivery she was readily available for all the questions we had. She was a core part of my care team. Postpartum care was necessary for support and integration with a new baby. She did an overnight with us, day time education, lactation support, organizing and overall emotional support. I cannot say enough things about destiny and how amazing she is. Hands down best decision to have a doula and more specifically Destiny in our corner!

I have been wanting to get into something like Yoga for a while now. Well recently I had an injury…read moreat work and Yoga was suggested to me for something that may help. I had seen the advertisement Mindpose had where you could get 14 days for $14 and I decided to give it a go. I signed up and went later that night. My first class was absolutely amazing. The instructor was so welcoming and so kind to me. The second class was not as great--I have found that every instructor sometimes has different teaching styles and also different ideas of what the class consists of. With this specific class, we were doing like a two minute plank in a 98 degree room. Whew. I tried another class that was a lot more about meditation. It was interesting but probably my least favorite just because of the several minutes that she had us holding our necks in a position I couldn't do too well because of the injury I still currently have. I understand that we are not being forced to do every move but there is a lot of pressure to follow along and even more when there is not an alternative option being given. We are supposed to be guided and I don't really want to lay there and look like a lazy bones just because I am restricted from doing a certain pose. I loved a bit more of the meditation and I like when they seem to "guide our spirit" by talking to us about life stuff too (like dedicating the class to someone in mind, releasing negative energy). I really love the music and the atmosphere that Mindpose provides for people. The instructors have all been kind and I love the towel we get after. I wish there was a bit more consistency, even the temperature varies 10 degrees and seems a bit unpredictable. The location is very convenient and I enjoy the dim lighting a lot.

Also, they're very helpful if you need help adjusting the bikes. I wanted to know some of the songs they played and one of the instructors kindly shared me the names of the songs. There is ample parking in the lot. The studio is very clean. Check-in is a breeze. There are lockers to store personal items. What a cute Pilates reformer studio!…read more I loved the hanging plants and the large windows that let in plenty of natural light. There's one restroom in the back. It's a super intimate setting with only four reformers, which I really appreciate because it means more attention and guidance from the instructor. She was helpful, friendly, and welcoming, and guided us thru the movements while still keeping the class challenging. There's parking in the front and streets. I had no issues finding one. I'll def be back for Tuesday Pilates and more of these intimate classes.

These are reformer classes and because they are small sized classes (4 reformers in the studio) each student gets ample attention from the instructor and is able to be corrected on form, ask questions, make modifications, etc. They also have cute pop-ups and collaborations with other small businesses. It is also in the cutest area (I love the Central 9th area) and has free parking. I recommend grabbing a breakfast sandwich next door at Central 9th Market if you're doing a morning class, or some food/drinks at Bar Nohm, The Pearl, Laziz, or Scion Cider if you're doing a night class. What I loved it when I found out I was pregnant, it was so easy to cancel my membership. No costs or hoops to jump through at all. Sadly when my lost the pregnancy, I took a few weeks before coming back. However, once I came back I was able to start right back up without any hoops to jump through at the same piece I was at without any extra costs. I'm only giving 4 stars because the pods leak a decent amount of air. To get the full effects of the heat, I have to make sure I bring a towel and roll it at the bottom. Otherwise the breeze of cooler air is distracting. The pods aren't lined up very well and it's an issue with all the pods. It's a good place to supplement workouts and other fun memberships.
