Very Sweet n Friendly Owners!! Accommodating!! Have stayed in 3 of Their Cabins; Each One is Unique and Special . All had great sleeping arrangements, one bathroom with Shower, kitchen area and a Jacuzzi that looks out into the beautiful surroundings. Quiet, Pet Friendly, Family Friendly, Peaceful, Beautiful Area, No Distractions. A lot to do close to the area Dining, Casinos, Turner Falls., Would be there Every Weekend if I could Afford it

Four of my kids and I are on the way back from a weekend spent at Red Top Cabins. We stayed in Cabin 1 and there was just enough room for the 5 of us. I got the bed to myself (which is raised a way off the ground), my 6 year old and 11 year old stayed in the bunks that are also in the bedroom. My 3 and 4 year olds stayed in sleeping bags on the couches. I think they fold out into beds but we didn't use them that way. The living room/dining room/kitchen is all one big room with a beautiful high ceiling and the back wall overlooking the porch is all windows. It is beautiful. There are a couple cabins (I think 5, total) in the area that share a circle drive. My kids were able to run around and play safely. The cabins are right off a small highway but are set far back enough from the road enough that no one would need to drive up close to the cabins if they were just turning around. I have Verizon for my iPhone and could not get a signal at the cabins. The owner said he had wifi but the network never came up on my phone. I thought that was nice, though. Taking a break from the digital world helped us truly relax while on vacation. I only mention the lack of service so that you can plan your other excursions using yelp, etc before you arrive. We didn't plan ahead so our first night we ate a very expensive, bland and kind of dirty Mexican dinner at the recommendation of a Walmart cashier in Sulphur. While in town the next day, I looked for a restaurant for dinner and found a WONDERFUL BBQ restaurant where all 5 of us ate for half the price of the Mexican restaurant. And we had leftovers! (Yay, Smokin' Joe's.) The kids and I hiked all day at Turner Falls on Saturday and it was so nice to come back to the cabin and the HOT TUB! It seats 4 so we took turns. It has a beautiful view of the night sky. We got to watch the moon rise while the hot tub relaxed our tired feet and legs. The bathroom has a shower/tub combo. We tried to all shower right in a row and ran out of hot water so you'll want to take turns. You may also want to bring a power strip because we couldn't all charge our devices simultaneously. (The kids were using old iPhones and iPods to take vacation pictures.) There's a fridge and microwave and a coffee maker. Plenty of dishes to cook with but no dishwasher, so we just had cereal and snacks while we were there. There's a TV with cable or satellite-I'm not sure because we have neither-but the kids were happy at night to have so many shows to choose from. The kids all said their beds were comfortable. Mine was too. The pillows and blankets were clean and comfy. The towels smelled really fresh. Definitely bring your own beach towels for coming in from the hot tub in the cold winter night!! There's a table outside on the back porch as well which is perfect for sipping coffee in the morning sunshine. I can't emphasize enough how beautiful the cabin and scenery are. My kids got a chance to run around and play outside without all the worries of being back home in the city. While we liked all of these things very well, absolutely the best part of staying at Red Top Cabins is the owner and his wife. They were so welcoming to the kids and me (most people when they see four kids run and hide!). Charlie took them for a ride on his golf cart, they didn't mind the kids chasing the cats that live under their porch and they even surprised them with some balloons and a croquet set. Charlie made sure we had a map so we wouldn't get lost and didn't mind my giving my mother his phone number so she had a way to contact me in case of an emergency. We thought the fridge had stopped working (one of the kids must've just turned it to low) and Charlie immediately came down to help and was very friendly and helpful. He even took our picture on the back porch of the cabin, without him we wouldn't have had a single picture of all of us together on our vacation. I'm a single mom of 5 and can't afford to take my kids on vacation as often as I'd like, but this was a very reasonable trip for us and everyone loved it. I cannot recommend it highly enough. We will definitely be back to stay again!! We loved our visit!

Loved the peace and quiet. Watching the stars in the sky from the hot tub was awesome. The sounds of the coyotes and frogs were our nighttime music. Bed was very comfortable. We stayed in #4 which has a kitchen so we were able to cook breakfast each morning. Hosts were friendly and although they live on site, it was as if they weren't there. Wifi was a nice touch because no service otherwise. Although it was kind of nice to unplug for a couple days. It's all part of the charm and seclusion. Best part of getting away from the DFW area, it's only a 2-hour drive to get to the middle of nowhere! We were so relaxed after our stay. It would've been nice to stay longer.

This is our 2nd time visiting. The first time in February 2018, it was magnificent. Our 2nd time, it was extravagant. The beautiful sunrise in the mornings gives you the perfect start of the day. Our cabin #2 has been clean both stays and feels like home. My fiance and me love and thank the owners for allowing us to stay and escape the busy every day life in Dallas area. We will definitely be back

Went for a romantic weekend, was disappointed in the cabins. Cute on the outside but the inside was garage sale furnished. Dub the bed the "murder bed" because it had a nasty stain on the corner. The futon looked like it had came from a teenagers room, had lots of old stickers on the side. The chair was 70' s gold and they tried to cover up the worn out side with a towel. The front door had 2" gap under the door.

Cons: DIRTY CARPET (carpets and rentals don't mix), only one burner worked on the stove top and it took forever to warm up ( would not boil water), no oven, the front door was really hard to open, no outdoor lighting or outdoor plugs, very small grill, the fireplace was permanently sealed off with a piece of plywood, no fire pit, refrigerator kind of acted up some of the fruits and vegetables for freezing, dirty curtains around the beds, the cooking utensils were not what i expected... we had to go buy a larger skillet and silverware no coffee pot but a very old microwave that we did not use, make sure you bring TP! Think of this as if you are camping in a camper or tent... bring everything you would need just keep in mind the plus side of having indoor plumbing and an air conditioner with a heater! Things we were thankful that we brought: Grill lights, Solar string lights, radio, extension cord, knife, cutting board, toilet paper, paper towels , cleaning supplies, trash bags and towels, sheets, pillows and blankets. We had a great time and plan on coming back! Literally a Mile away from Turner falls. We just felt like the cabin had a lot of potential that was being neglected. Little things could make it so much nicer.

We rented two cabins (5 & 6) for a family of 20. Mr. Kiser set the window unit A/C's on a certain…read moretemp and told us not to touch it because it will freeze up. Each cabin has two window units (one down stairs and one upstairs) with two old ceiling fans on top floor. Cabin 5's A/C were working excellent (very cold) but Cabin 6's A/C's were not working, they were blowing out hot air. We called Mr. Kiser twice and he didn't answer. The Wi-Fi did not work either. The cabins were clean and the beds were comfortable. But in the summer with 100 plus degree temps and no A/C working makes your stay awful. The coffee maker as so dirty and the handles on the fridge looked like they had not been cleaned in some time. There was another camper there in another cabin, we thought it was Mr. Kiser but it wasn't. We asked her to call him for us an guess what.... He picked up when she called. This is the only way we got to talk to him about the A/C's for Cabin 6. He didn't want to hear our concerns nor come out to look at the A/C's. We lost respect for him after this call. We will not be going back.
