The food is bomb! My husband and I have stayed here twice and each time its been wonderful. I had never had duck before and the duck I had was so flavorful and tender, highly recommend! The fish and steak were good, but the duck was amazing. AND the twice baked potato was soooo good and the pesto they provide with some yummy buttery garlic toast is super good too. Unique and tasty salad. All in all LOVE this restaurant/bed and breakfast. And the dessert was amazing too! Their breakfast is also good. Love love love this place. Will be coming back for future anniversaries. The massages are really good too. I recommend doing an hour or more instead of standard 30 minutes. The ambiance is nice also. My girlfriend booked a one night stay here and let me say this... absolutely loved the secluded quietness of the place. We had a couple massage, which was my first legit message I've ever received. Both ladies made us feel comfortable and explained everything in detail. A few minutes in after we were comfortable the general small talk was nice and the complimentary mimosas were exceptionally great. Dinner was amazing. Steak, duck, chicken, potatoes, dessert.... 10 out of 10. The lounge and bar areas were peaceful and accommodating. We loved everything. Echo Canyon is my absolute favorite getaway!! My husband and I first visited for our honeymoon in 2015, and we fell in love with this place! So we had to come back for our anniversary this year. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and the owners are always available if you need anything. The kitchen is stocked with snacks and refreshments, so you can drop in any time if you need anything. Definitely try their hibiscus peach juice - it is AMAZING!! They make it from their very own peaches! The two course breakfast that comes with your stay is delicious. I especially loved the oat nut waffle. We also splurged to have dinner there one night, and the dinner blew my mind! The best steak I've ever eaten, and more food than I could possibly finish. What a lovely spa retreat! I knew the moment my Mom, Sister and I drove through the gate that this would be a special girl's trip. We stayed in the two room admiral suite on the second floor of the main building. Lots of room to spread out and sleep privately. Beautiful balcony! Downstairs you are welcome to help yourself to drinks and snacks. The restaurant is awesome! Way better than I expected! In another building on the property is the aloha spa. Oh my goodness, this place is awesome. The meal was unbelievable. The dinner included filet mignon, duck breast, sole filet, twice baked potatoes, green beans, green salad, and dessert. They also had complimentary wine and champagne if you wanted. The flavor was off the chain for everything except the fish. I don't like sole. My tour bus had problems getting in thru the property and they both came out and helped and went out of their way to help us. Okay I have read the reviews and actually wanted to respond to any negative review. This was our first experience at a bed and breakfast and could not have been happier. We stayed 2 nights and had the most relaxing experience. Both nights dinners were exceptional. Probably the best steak I have ever had. Ruth Chris should watch out when Joe is cooking. I have to say the breakfast was great too. One of the complaints I read was in regards to a resort and the lack of activities. If you can't find things to keep you occupied here then you are doing something wrong. Another complaint was the lack of shopping in the area. I guess they didn't use a map. The City of Sulphur is north of the resort and has plenty of things to keep you busy and the lake is close by too. My wife and I enjoyed our time here and can't wait to return. We found this place by simply looking online. Joe and Carol and the entire staff made our stay very nice and memorable. Make sure you take advantage of the spa. We enjoyed a couples massage. The scenery was beautiful with some wild life .. the food was FANTASTIC... I can't say enough good things about this place... I just love this place and the owners! I had heard really good things about this "spa" resort from a friend but wasn't impressed with how high their prices were so I have held off for years going. Recently, it was my boyfriends birthday and wanted to surprise him with a day trip. I booked a couples massage and pedicures and was reluctant again, due to the prices $120/pp for a massage and $50/pp for the pedicures. Since I wanted a nice experience I assumed this place would be top notch as far as spas are concerned so I booked them. -After arriving, my first impression was the decor looks like it hasn't been updated since the early 2000's. You can tell they try to make it tropical but it just looked cheap. -I have received many massages throughout the years and I'm very used to always changing into a robe whenever I have multiple services booked. They simply had us wait in the lounge area by the bar and offered us drinks which was nice. However, they gave my boyfriend coffee in a small styrofoam cup and my mimosa in a plastic cup. If I'm paying over $350 for services at least give us real dish ware. -Once in the massage room we were simply told to remove our clothes and get under the blanket face up. There was nowhere nice to place our things and I had my purse so I heard my phone go off every time it buzzed. I could have turned it off but I'm used to having a separate area to keep my things. -During the massage my therapist smelled like cigarettes especially on her hands so it made the entire experience unpleasant. It was also one of the most lazy massages I've ever received. My boyfriend even made a comment after, that my massages are 10x better and I don't have a license! -They also were whispering to each other during which made it awkward. -After we had to get dressed and they forgot we had pedicures. Because we weren't in robes and it was cold I had to get a pedicure in jeans. Also, they had one person doing both of our pedicures. So she started mine, then would move over to him, then come back to me, then back to him. All without hand hygiene in-between. I love him and I'm not worried about hygiene issues but it's the principal of the matter. Also, it was the worst pedicure. She basically cut and filed and painted. No cuticle work. I pay $35 in a small town that does far better pedicures. Besides the price for the product there's one other major issue I had with this place. During the pedicure the technician proceeded to tell us her stance on gay marriage, abortion and racism. Considering I manage a staff of over 40 people in my profession I tried to be nice, but there's a point where you have to realize you are providing a customer experience and I don't need to know about the government "cutting open women 9 mo. pregnant and killing babies". (Her words not mine) If any of my employees behaved like this I would be mortified. I was extremely disappointed with the entire experience. I will not return in any capacity. If you are looking in the area for a more "spa" like experience go to the Artesian which is where I wish we had gone. read more

Just stayed at the echo canyon last night! Loved the vibe. They have a set menu for dinner that was 70$ per person. The dinner had an amazing stake... duck and fried fish... all included... a dinner salad.. garlic bread... some fancy juice with champagne in it... with free refills!!! Twice baked potato... asparagus! PHENOMENAL! All glass on the back of the main house where you dine. The birds were eating out of the feeders... they had some salt licks out and a few deer came up as it got cooler... they have a spa and an awesome bar in another area that has huge overstuffed couches and the owners were very friendly.... we really enjoyed it... our room had a private balcony... a corner bathtub in the room for love birds and was Marilyn Monroe themed!! So much fun! They have some newer cottages on the property as well... it was chill.... had a very Irish Country home/spa kind of feel... and it's in the middle of nowhere which we LOVED.... so not much of anything else to check out... This is the kind of place you go to and don't leave the property until it's time to check out. Breakfast was included and served in the main dining room, however dinner is the star of the show! They had a pool... not huge... spa services were excellent... food was excellent... bar was very relaxing and the owner was good conversation... just 60 miles south of OKC it's the perfect weekend getaway for couples or a girls weekend that's QUIET.... read more

My husband surprised me with a new year's getaway to Echo Canyon. I loved the fact that this place is completely secluded from the small towns nearby and inside a state park. If you want to go somewhere to really get away and relax, this is the place!! As an added bonus, it's just a short 2.5 hour drive from Dallas. Although it is a B&B type place, we actually felt like we were staying at a ranch for the night. All the rooms were nearby the spa/bar and the dining hall. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by staff that showed us the grounds as well as our room. The room was the epitome of cozy. Huge bathroom, large comfy four-post bed, a huge bathroom, huge flat screen TV, and a large Jacuzzi tub right in the room! We started out our day by having a glass of wine at the bar before our couple's massage. The massage was amazing! I've had some horrible massages at "spa/resort" type places, but these ladies really knew what they were doing! Super relaxing and the pressure was on point. Dinner was next and we were running a bit behind, but the staff there was so accommodating and did not make us feel rushed. They even called ahead to ask us how we wanted our steaks cooked. When we arrived, they had a table ready for us next to the window. The dining area is just as cozy as the rooms. Although it had a home-y feel to it, the food was definitely 5-star restaurant-worthy! We started off with a fresh salad, and they poured us some fresh Hibiscus juice from their garden (topped off w/ champagne). The main entree: filet cooked to perfection, duck, halibut, potatoes, and some green beans and asparagus. So much delicious food in one plate, we couldn't even finish it! (Thankfully they were able to box it up for us). For dessert we chose cheesecake... decadent! Since it was NYE, after dinner we strolled over to the bar where one of the owners (we call him Scottsdale Joe) was there, over-serving us :) Carol, his wife, also came by to hang out w/ the crowd. They even joined in on playing games with the group as we rang in the new year. We really loved how "at home" Joe and Carol made us feel. Like I said, we felt like guests at their home, rather than guests at a hotel. We partied so hard we missed breakfast the next day; however, Joe saw us as we left and offered to make us something before we hit the road. The accommodation Echo Canyon has really blew us away. This was a nice place to take my wife for her birthdays/Valentine's day combo. The site is luxuriously decorated, and I could not believe the attention to detail that went into the decor, as well as the expense We stayed in the cottage, as we always prefer to do when we hit a b&), and it was very nice. Our favorite parts were the epic Jacuzzi bathroom, the leather lounge chairs and the soft bed. The cottage has everything you need including a kitchen, and I imagine you would get more bang for your buck if a couple were to stay here several days. Dinner was great. Our filetw literally melted like butter. I grill a mean steak, but this was rivaled. We had duck breast and halibut as well. Loved the watermelon in the salad, the homemade garlic bread and the hibiscus juice. The fish was a little dry. Service was great, and they unexpectedly lit a few candles for my wife so I could sing happy birthday. We got a couples massage, and it was very relaxing. I was taken a little by suprise at checkout though, regarding the price of the massage. On the website, the couple's massage is listed as $65-$170 dollars for 30-90 minutes. Since this was a couples massage, and nothing else was listed, I thought this was the price per couple. Boy I was wrong when I was hit with the bill. My wife and I went to this resort about a month ago. Overall, we found it to be a nice place. The grounds were nice, the accommodations were nice, the food was very good, and the drinks were very good. My wife and I have traveled quite extensively, and we've stayed at a lot of resorts. I guess because of that, this place was a little bit of a let down. When I hear the word "Resort" I expect there to be onsite activities and things to do. Unfortunately, there just isn't much to do at Echo Canyon. We wandered all over, and pretty much all we found was the bar, the pool, the hot tub, and a ping pong table. I guess you can also go to the "Spa", but I adamantly REFUSE to pay $120/hour for a massage. At the resorts we've gone to (and yes, they were upscale resorts) we've never paid more than $60 pp. So basically, it seemed like our choices were 1) Hang out in our room, 2) Hang out in the bar, or 3) hang out at the pool. Obviously, the pool wouldn't be an option if it weren't hot outside. So, overall, we did have a good time, albeit a little on the boring side. But the dinner was great, and Joe made some mean drinks. Speaking of which, Joe and all of the staff were very nice and very pleasant. No complaints about the owners and/or staff. I guess the biggest problem with any "resort" in Oklahoma is that you're subject to the weather, which I'm sure makes it hard to have a lot of Amenities. I mean, a small putt-putt course would be awesome, but how many months of the year can you realistically use it? Same thing goes for a pool, or any other kind of recreational activity. And trying to have a lot of indoor activities would be somewhat costly because you'd have to build a building to have them in. So for that reason, I totally understand the lack of recreational activities. So, while we didn't find it to be the big "WOW" experience that others seem to have, we did like it. But for the price, I don't think we'd return. read more

We had our own private patio with veiw of trees. Peaceful place to spend a quiet romantic weekend. The breakfast was very good for me who is health conscious. My husband not a big fan of glutten free oat pancakes and turkey bacon. (get the idea. It is health food. But then again it is a SPA) The dinner we had was excellent. Crisped Garlic slices served with fresh Basil pesto made on site. The addition of the watermelon to the baby green salad was refreshingly delicious. The dressing the perfect balance. Orange Duck cooked to perfection. Filet melted in your mouth. Would have been the perfect meal if they had left the fish off the plate. Breaded and overcooked mushy. They serve a drink called Hibiscuss juice! Wow Yummeeeeee. Champagne with juices from their own orchard. Couldn't get enough of this! The downside. There is nothing and I mean ABSOLUTELY nothing within decent driving distance. No quaint shops, no good restaurants, no scenery. I mean out in the middle of nowhere. This place is amazing!! We arrived a little late for our spa treatments and they re-arranged their plans for us with no problem. When we went to check into our room, they offered us 2 options. We had booked a room(which was a little out dated) but they told us that, and offered us two updated rooms that included hot tubs in both rooms! And they also gave it to us for the same price as the first room. We got two for the price of one! The owners are SO NICE. The man made sure to come greet us and made sure to greet our guests as they arrived. They checked up on us multiple times to make sure we were having a great stay. I would recommend this place to anyone. The massage therapists are awesome so I definitely recommend getting a Swedish massage! read more

This was our first time going here or to any bed & breakfast and this place was great. Our first. Ugh you we enjoyed sitting in the bar and having a few glasses of wine with Joe and Casey. We had breakfast both mornings which came with a Vegan style waffle (first shot at anything Vegan) and it was really good!!!! Then for the second plate we all had scrambled eggs, sausage, the best fried potatoes ever and biscuit and gravy. Breakfast was complimentary each morning. We had the dinner at the resort Saturday and it was really outstanding!! The dinner menu was as follows: A 10oz filet, fresh flown in from California Halibut, and duck, twice baked potato, a salad and bread to start with and a choice of cheesecake or chocolate mousse brownie. This was a delicious meal, I'm not sure I would try the duck again, not because of anything they did, I just wasn't a big fan of the taste, but I had to try it once to see. It is a nice romantic little getaway that was a little bit bigger than your normal B&B because they have added things at customers requests. It is very quaint and well worth the time to pop on and stay a few nights. Joe, Carol and all of the staff are very professional. It laid back and a lot of fun to visit with!!!! As you're eating dinner you see deer and wild turkey grazing outside the restaurant windows. But our spa experience...... One name....JASON! If you come here book with him! I know most women prefer having a woman masseuse (because they are more comfortable with a woman), but I've always preferred a man because of the strong hands. My husband and I spent the weekend in mid September. Reservations were made 6 months in advance. Cabin was selected from website review. Upon arrival I was advised that cabin was no longer available and someone was already checked in to that cabin. We were put in a less desirable cabin with no discussion prior to our arrival. The cabin we were given was under construction and there was construction debris in view. The toilet was in view of the living room and did not have a door which was quite embarrassing. The dinner was a preset menu and there was no deviation for someone who is a vegetarian such as myself. Overall the weekend got off on a sour note and was compounded upon for the next two days. For a weekend that costs over $1,000 it was a most disappointing experience. read more

It's hard to put into words the amazing atmosphere created by Carol, Joe and the wonderful Echo Canyon family including Kaci (best massage ever--splurge and go for the hot stones!!), Tammy (most entertaining mani pedi in history... Make sure to ask her about the Footloose Festival!), Johni (amazing manicure and purveyor of wise advice), Chèrie (who always has a smile for everyone), Lupe (who goes out first thing in the morning to spread deer corn to make sure there are plenty of animals for guests to view while indulging in the delectable 2 course breakfast), and every other person on staff who goes above and beyond to ensure that guests enjoy an unforgettable experience. From the blackberry juice squeezed from their own homegrown fruit to the cheesecakes baked by Carol's own mother, the emphasis is on quality and attention to detail. (With advance notice, they have even been able to accommodate all my food allergies!) I have now stayed there several times, often under difficult circumstances, as I frequently go to visit my mother who has been on hospice at the nearby VA. Mom loves to come to visit and enjoy sunset on the balcony--a miracle only made possible because of Joe and Carol's thoughtfulness in assigning us ground room floors. One time, I was able to drive out from North Carolina and pick up my mom's best friend along the way. When I opened the door to our room with two Queen canopy beds and a Jacuzzi tub, she exclaimed that she never believed that such places existed in real life--it was like a dream come true. For Christmas my mom, sister and I decided to take a girls trip instead of buying gifts. My mom started looking on the internet and that's how we found the most amazing spa resort. We were shown absolutely the best customer service from the beginning. As soon as we arrived we were greeted and given a tour of the grounds. Everything was beautiful. All of the flowers and trees and unique decor gives it such a warm feeling. Our room was perfect. You can tell they take pride in their establishment. The beds were amazing. It breaks my heart to have to leave this review, but my anniversary weekend was ruined. My husband and I arrived late Friday night with dog in tow. The boarder they recommended graciously agreed to let me drop him off after he finished bowling. When we arrived, our dog was EXCLUSIVELY in our car. I toured the facility and my husband unpacked, so someone was left in the car with our dog. After that was done, we left for about 30+ minutes waiting for confirmation to drop off our dog. Once he was dropped off, we returned to Echo Canyon for a great anniversary weekend ( or so we thought). We changed into our robes, opened a bottle of wine, and were getting ready to relax when I received a call. The owner, Joe, proceeded to accuse us of having our dog in the room. He told us he watched his cameras, and we never left ( definitely needs new cameras). His accusation was insulting and frankly hurtful. He was practically yelling at me and repeating " we don't allow dogs at this facility." I kept telling him my dog was at the boarder! He told me he tried calling our boarder, but she didn't answer.I was very heated by that point... then a few minutes later he arrives at the door!!! We are in our robes with NO dog! It was such an awkward experience. My husband was ready the next morning to get over it and enjoy our weekend, but I felt like we deserved an apology. His wife, Carol, did apologize the next morning, but I expected one from Joe... that never happened. There were a few minor slip-ups- I asked for wine and strawberries in our room that weren't there, and we were overcharged 60.00 for wine, but I can look past all those... I can't overlook the way I was spoken to and treated by Joe. read more

This Bed and Breakfast is really adorable. They have wildlife all over the property. My only complaint is the way they handle their pricing. We choose to dine on the property for dinner. When we arrived for dinner, we found that they had a fixed menu and there was no pricing available. Embarrassed to ask, we just went it. After dinner, we went to the properties bar. Again, the same situation, no pricing on the drinks. When we told the owner we enjoyed red wines, he told us he had great wine at his house and that he would bring it. He brought back 4 bottles and began pouring, without telling us price, and continued to refill our glasses without asking if we wanted more. This all came to a head when we went to check out in the morning and found out that dinner was $120 and that we were charged $120 for wine! I feel like they need to be open with how much things are so that people know what to expect. read more

It can be pricey, but if you compare what you get with any high scale restaurant, they are very reasonable. Their meals include 3 entrees, salad, dessert, drinks. My husband and I absolutely loved this quaint, cozy, delicious b&b resort. We can not wait to visit again! We drove from Tulsa for a short getaway and are so glad we did. Really wish we could have stayed longer. The owners are super, paying attention to every detail and ensuring comfort at it's finest! You will not go hungry as they make sure you feel welcome to grab complementary snacks and drinks before heading to your cozy room. The Baron of Beef steakhouse is phenomenal, right on the grounds! They bring the outstanding, world class chef right to you! Everything is prepared fresh, using herbs, fruits and veggies from their garden. The breakfast they prepared for us was delish, as we sat in a sun filled room enjoying nature all around. Ahhh, I am happy just thinking about it! It's a romantic b&b people! Stay inside your cozy cottage and reconnect with each other for goodness sake! We have been home for a week and have been so nice to each other. My bff and I found this estate by accident. Googling for nearby hotels while at turner falls, ok. We decided to stay that very night. We thought it was a very well priced typical bed and breakfast. Imagine our surprise when we pulled up to a giant wrought iron gate and entered a code to enter the rolling fields, orchards, vineyard and magnificent estate we pulled up to. The staff was absolutely superb, and we met the owners also, an adorable, loving couple. The 3 course dinner and fabulous homemade and homegrown blackberry coffee cake and fresh blackberry juice in the morning were so delicious. They leave the main house open always so u can relax by the fireplace or help yourself to snacks or drinks throughout the day and night. The bar area is spectacular. And the spa area is absolutely beautiful. Massages on site. The room was the size of my whole apt practically. A giant 4 poster bed and a hot tub by the fireplace. The interior design is absolutely rich, posh and every place u sit or look is stunning and comfortable. Room service. A private deck overlooking the creek and wildlife. My bff and I went to what we thought would be a typical stay. What we found was a rejuvenated spirit. Much needed as my bff goes thru her 2nd round of chemo for breast cancer. We went with tired bones. We left with rejuvenated hearts and souls. Thank you Echo Canyon Resort and Spa for bestowing those gifts upon us. My bff can't wait to come from Cali again to rest in such luxury. read more

Echo Canyon was AMAZING!!! My best friend for over 50 years came to visit and we drove out to Echo Canyon for a four night stay. We stayed in the Rose Palace room which was a lovey comfortable room. Parked right outside the door! Carol and Joe were very helpful. The property is lovely. We had dinner there several nights and the deer, turkey's and rabbits came! I fell in love with their dog Gracie! Dinners are wonderful here. Such a lovely setting for dinners and breakfasts. Mornings the turkeys were out also. A great show to see! I will review the spa but wanted to add Ashley was wonderful for the lavender wrap. Pam was great for the Swedish Massage also. Very relaxing spa time! I thought the Encore in Vegas had the best therapist and spa but I think Echo Canyon topped them! Ask for Ashley and you won't go wrong for sure. I can't wait to go back. The town of Sulphur was nice as well as the casinos in Sulphur and Davis. Veterans Lake has a very nice walking trail to walk. The Cultural Center was great we got to see the Stomp Dance and got in on an orientation at the museum and learned so much. Going back to Echo after a days outing was like going home! I would suggest anyone wanting to get away to visit Echo Canyon. We enjoyed our stay very much. Can't wait to visit again! Certainly the best B&B I've stayed at. Can't say enough good things about Echo Canyon. We both enjoyed our stay very much. read more
