Turner falls was beautiful! The hiking, swimming, everything! The only reason for not 5 stars was how rude the lady was checking us in. Also, if not going in a super busy day buy tickets at the gate to hopefully save those ridiculous fees online. Bring chairs, canopies, ice chests, and make it a day. It was so fun! Parking is easy.

We walked the park to the falls. The recent rains had the water rushing over the falls. Beautiful sight. Driving thru the park we seen three young male turkeys and two grown deer and a young'en that still had spots. We will be back again to visit in summer to swim in one or all of the various pools of water.

this place is beautiful. great hiking trails. there are stinging wasps of some sort. there's a spot to swim. really nice landscapes. the waterfall was not fullly going as much as it would after a fresh rainfall. great photo ops.

This was well worth the stop. We stopped here on the way back from a day trip to Oklahoma. They have a military discount which is nice. I believe for two adults and a 3 yr old it was $26. They accept card, cash and even Apple Pay. We brought our own food and enjoyed it at one of their picnic areas. The picnic area are fairly clean and well kept with a small playground for kids. I would love to return and do some of the hiking trails. The pools were closed when we were there so no one was swimming. My only complaint is the bathrooms being locked so you have to use porta-potty's.

There was plenty of parking on Friday afternoon in November and not a lot of people around. It is easy and well parked from the highway to the entrance. You can pay the fee at the entrance station but it is cheaper online and they just scan your pass and give you a map. I do think it is a bit expensive for the entry fee to pay per person and not for the car. Parking is more on the weekends but free during the week in the fall and winter. It is pretty and the water is clear. It is a short walk and next time would spend some time checking out the castle.

It's a waterfall, it's the largest waterfall in the state of Oklahoma. There's a huge cave system to explore, lots of hiking, or you can just chill in river. I love it there and will be back!

The teeppee was not clean, there were insects inside, wasps, spiders, anthills and crickets that did not let us sleep all night with their singing, the air conditioning did not cool, our teeppee had a hole at the top of the ceiling and the air conditioning came out through there, the beds were dirty with dust and dead insects, they need maintenance and cleaning, I paid more than $ 500 dollars for two nights in a teeppee, it would have been better to have a picnic on the first level and rent a hotel than spend the two nights here in this dirty place full of insects and very hot

The view from Highway 77. Not from inside the park (because there's really not a view inside the park).

Have you ever wanted to go to the state fair, and then take a bath with everyone at the state fair? That's the Turner Falls experience. Oh, also, it will cost you $60+ to take a bath with everyone. All of that and you still might not get a view of the Falls. It depends on whether the first level of parking is full or not. They have 3 levels of parking, and the people working there probably won't be willing to take the time to explain the difference between the levels. The first level is the most expensive and includes the only real view of the falls. The 2nd level is good if you want to access the creek above the falls. The 3rd level is good for camping and hiking; it is also free. My advice: don't go. Instead, support the PUBLIC Parks system and head to the nearby Chickasaw National Recreation Area. It's free, and the employees are and kind and helpful. You'll find similar creek swimming, but the water is nice and cool because it's spring-fed.

I made it to Turner Falls Park!

Turner Falls is a casual roadside stop and attraction located right off Interstate 35 (I-35) going north and south. To be precise, Turner Falls is situated 80 miles south of Oklahoma City, OK and 130 miles north of Dallas, TX. There were plenty of signs for it and that's how I discovered Turner Falls, just by noticing the signs while driving. I was intrigued by potentially how beautiful this waterfall could be. It was $16 entrance fee for myself, 1 person, plus with sales tax of $1.50, the total was $17.50. Upon entering and parking, I then had to walk a short way (1/3 of a mile) to arrive at the falls. In fact, Turner Falls is actually a park with a campground, space for picnics and barbecues, a playground for kids and even concession stands to buy snacks and refreshments. Overall, the star highlight is obviously Turner Falls. Once here, there's a small beach and sand area to lay down a blanket. Anyone and everyone can swim in the large water pool where Turner Falls splashes down into. I give credit to the setting and ambiance. The water from the falls appeared slightly turquoise green which made for some photogenic aspects. During summers I would recommend bringing a bathing suit with you to cool off from the hot weather. Turner Falls is a 77-foot waterfall. When I was here visiting in late afternoon in early September, it was relatively quiet and not crowded. Granted I arrived around 5pm and spent time watching the sunset, but still, if you can come here for a visit during off peak times and hours it will allow you to capture some scenic moments with the falls. After getting a general sense for the setting and surroundings by the falls, I could tell how popular of a tourist spot this must be. During the height of summers, I can only imagine how crowded the swimming waters are and combined with a colorful backdrop, lots of families and young children must come here in droves to enjoy the pleasant atmosphere. For those people who are very particular about their picture taking...I'd definitely suggest coming here in morning times. Because the sun faded behind Turner Falls during sunset, it made for my picture opportunities to be quite difficult with all the glares and shadows. If you were to show up in the morning, I would say the sun would be rising and reflecting well upon Turner Falls making for snapping photos much more efficient and memorable. Lol, this is just me being picky with how I like to take pictures. In the end, it was nice to be here at Turner Falls. Although this place didn't mesmerize me or have me in awe, I still had a cool experience for this extremely accessible roadside stop right off I-35. For those who may have higher expectations of a statuesque waterfall or a grand stunning scene...you may not get it here. Alright, well, this is Turner Falls and Park located in Davis, Oklahoma.

This place is amazing and a hidden gem! I had an absolute blast here. The cold waters of the falls were refreshing to my body. I highly recommend that everyone come and enjoy this falls.

California born/raised Yelper here, was visiting Dallas, TX and my family decided to drive on over to Turner Falls Park in Oklahoma. Turners Fall Park has tons of hiking trails, campsites, cabins, and a castle ...besides the waterfall (see my pictures). So much to do and see. I loved it all! We scored!!! Park wasn't too crowded, therefore lots of parking available. Dressing rooms with restrooms are decent. Multiple concession stands were all closed and souvenir shop closed early too. Glad my family packed food and snacks. Bring water shoes, as the rocks are slippery and your flip-flops might go floating away! Also, bring deet, bug spray -so many mosquitoes (ick!!!). We pre-purchased too many admission tickets online and nice woman at the gate allowed the extra admission tickets to be used another day. I'd definitely visit Turner Falls Park again, if/when in the area again. Thanks, Turner Fall Park for great family outdoor memories made here :)

Do you need to buy a ticket for the park AND buy a parking pass? (the website is super unclear on that). Thanks.

    Yes. Admission doesn't include parking.

    Are dogs allowed?

    Dogs are not allowed.

Do you have to pay a park admission just to hike?

Yes. You have to pay to enter the park regardless of whether you just hike, swim, fish, etc.

    Are dog allow there?

According to their ticket terms and conditions: no pets are allowed in the park

Does any one know if we have to make reservations before we get there or can we pay at the door?

However, we were VERY disappointed in two things: 1) The cabins are old and unkept. We had a hole in the wall near the front door and daylight showing under the front door. The entire cabin was filled with ants. They were on the floor, walls, and ceiling. Every hour I was running around squashing ants. We had to hang everything on hooks/hangers or leave it in the car. Water leaked from underneath the tile in front of the shower. The staff said the State has the money to renovate, but they keep delaying it. So sad to lose customers because they won't spend the money to update it. 2) The pet fee is $40 per day per pet. We had 2 dogs totaling 22 pounds. There was NO extra work on behalf of the staff after we left. Most place charge a deposit that is refundable if there is no damage. They should review their pet policy and consider reducing or eliminating the fee and instead having a refundable deposit. With $80/night for the dogs and $110+ for the cabin, we could have stayed in a nice VRBO home with a fenced backyard and without bugs.

Apparently, the powers that be have figured out that they can make more money off day users by charging $10 / day for a parking permit. Our pass was included with our cabin. Our cabin had many creature comforts. Air conditioning, cold but too loud to sleep with (cycling on and off every few minutes), cable tv, full size fridge, cooktop and microwave. Choice of 1 big bed or 2 little ones. Nice bathroom, too. Towels and bedding are provided and daily cleaning is offered, but we declined and lived in our own squalor, lol. Due to the corona bug, the pots, plates, utensils, etc. were no longer provided. Not sure why these things couldn't have been left with a suggestion that we wash them before using them. Fortunately, we have a camp box with those items, ready to travel. Outside, we had a picnic table, a bbq grill and a fire ring. The grill was about what you expect at a public p k-9ark, with wide gaps and it was really nasty, so I grilled our burgers on a sheet of aluminum foil. Yum! We also brought firewood with us, but there are places nearby where you can buy some. I also brought a smudge pot with citronella scented oil in case the mosquitoes were a problem, but there were only a few of those pests. There are plenty of places to explore in the park and the beautiful lake to enjoy. Break out of your seclusion and reep the benefits of this safe spot to recharge your batteries.
