Every time I've driven past this place I've been scared off by their very intensely named weekly specials. Now after a full year of living in the area I finally took the plunge and tried red star coffee. A red velvet milkshake with espresso is honestly crazy and the fact that the smallest size you can get it in is a 20oz is even crazier... but I loved it. It was extremely creamy, it was extremely sweet, it did taste like a red velvet cupcake, and between my wife and I we basically finished the whole thing. The coffee aftertaste to the sugar bomb really makes it next level and I can't believe I exist in this amazing lifetime. We have already planned our next ice cream order. Also, cute logo! It's a drive through coffee so there's not much to say about the vibes but it was as quick as I expected and the worker was friendly. Typical experience and I don't feel scared to go back so that's a good sign. read more

Coffee is what they are known for and they have other offerings as well, like smoothies of various types and other cool and hot drinks. Drive up windows so service is fast. The location was in a gas station parking lot across from UI. Around the building was clean, drive up is on both sides. Not sure about walk ups. I went twice while in town. Support local! read more

Baristas were nice. I like to go here whenever I'm in town. I appreciated the barista explaining the different flavors of specialty's drinks. For this reason I gave a good tip. I love the Christmas menu. The only reason this lost stars was because my latte was served luke warm rather than hot as I asked. I even stayed "extra hot" since I've found recently baristas in the area tend to let the espresso get too cold by time they froth the milk, resulting in cold latte. I was asked if I wanted straws and a jacket and said yes. I got a large regular straw. The drink was cold enough for me to gulp out of the larger soda straw. Lattes should be served between 150 and 160 degrees, not 75. It's 35 degrees out so would have loved an actual hot latte. read more

Stopped by to pick up a mid day coffee. It's perfectly located near shopping and downtown. There is always a line at this place, which means you know it's good. The line moved pretty quickly in my experience. Even though it's a drive up shack I believe they take walk up orders. Red Star has their full menu on the side of the building which is very friendly for new customers or people who like to switch it up. Would recommend, will go again. read more

I've worked in many coffee stands before I found my home here at Red Star. My first coffee shop job was at my middle school coffee stand where I learned the basics of pulling a shot and preparing drinks. I then went on to volunteer at my church coffee stand before I turned 16 and got my first real job at Starbucks. I worked there for a year and half before I moved to a different coffee shop called Gravity coffee. Long story short, l've seen my fair share of the behind the scenes in many different coffee shops. Red Star is the only coffee stand that I've worked at where I can confidently say I am proud to be a part of the team. I'm proud of the products we sell, and furthermore I'm proud to see the impact our stand is able to have on the community. We sell real coffee from a local coffee roaster, we put real espresso and ice cream in our blended drinks (as opposed to Starbuck's frappacinno which is instant coffee water, liquid sugar, and ice.) and I can honestly say l've never worked at a coffee shop that has a higher standard for cleanliness. I'd volunteer to kiss the floor at the end of the night, it's that clean! What customers aren't able to see behind the drive through windows is that Red Star is constantly evolving and pushing the standards to make great coffee and great customer connections. I've worked here for about a year and half, and I plan on staying for many years to come. We are a family at Red Star and I hope every customer that comes through feels like they are a part of it! read more

This company is doing some dirty business. I ordered a Buzz off the cold menu which states $5.50 was charged over $7.32 I asked why from two employees got the same answers it's for the extra shots... no where on the menu does it even mention extra shots. I have no idea when the customer service here became so poor. I used to come all of the time and loved seeing everyone and their smiles. This last time was a different story. I don't know her name but she has long blonde hair and wears glasses. Literally no idea how someone in this industry can be so rude and make someone feel like such a nuisance. I've been in this industry for six years and have never been so rude. Next time, don't make a person feel stupid when you can't understand what a white mocha with caramel is. And when I said bye have a beautiful day? I'd appreciate more than "yep" and shutting the window. Incredibly rude and won't be going back and I will tell everyone about this experience. read more

Well well, finally a decent coffee place in northern idaho. Staff was friendly, and coffee was pretty good. I wanted an iced coffee, but they did not offer that so I settled for an iced white mocha. It was not the best but by far better than an local coffee I've tried. It wasn't thick and syrupy. Could have used more coffee flavor. I'm not sure how many shots they put in it. I was visiting Pullman and I needed caffeine. Red Star Coffee Company is a drive-thru so it's really convenient you don't have to get out of your car to order :). The girl working the window was really patient, and recommended the pumpkin white mocha latte. The latte was good and they even give you a chocolate covered espresso bean on top of your coffee! read more

This place is horrible. The first time i got an iced tea there it was pretty good--the next few times i've gone back, they've added so much syrup i had to water it down later. Even when i specifically asked for half the regular syrup amount, it seemed they put even MORE in than usual. It literally tasted like cough medicine--they can't seem to get an order right at all. While it's true that drive through coffee is nice, walk up coffee is nice and the service is good... What really gets me here, is the snickers Buzz or the adrenalizer. I went here with a friend recently I got a regular Mocha and she got some candy bar peanut butter drink that was recommended to her. I don't understand how they are still in business. The mocha was literally barely warm water with coffee grounds in it and the peanut butter drink was a scoop of peanut butter in water and blended. Wast of money that was dumped down the drain. Will never go back to this sorry excuse for a coffee company. The one star is because the employee was kind. Other wise it would be zero if that were possible. read more
