I love Café Artista : ) I go in a few times a week before work, and I sit around and play my Nintendo switch in their little cozy corner by the window. The baristas are all extremely nice and friendly, and I can really admire the hard work they're doing when it gets busy in there! They offer a variety of gluten free items which I appreciate as someone who cannot eat gluten. There's a bunch of cute coffee stops in Moscow, but café artista has absolutely stolen my heart as my favorite : ) I am looking forward to their hours being extended again, as they are currently closing at 3, but it's understandable with the season. read more

I came here on a Sunday afternoon. Great atmosphere, friendly staff & yummy coffee!

Stopped by this cafe on whim while waiting for my son's high school lacrosse game to start. It's a rainy day and was looking for a hot cuppa and maybe a bite to eat. Cafe Artista didn't disappoint! My mocha was done to perfection and hit the spot. I also ordered a veggie biscuit, which beat my expectations. It was deliciously filled with egg, spinach, sundried tomatoes and artichoke hearts. I also ordered a breakfast burrito for my son, who also said it was absolutely delicious. Everyone was nice and friendly. As out of towners, this was a great experience all around and we will be back when in Moscow again! read more

I like the relaxing environment at Cafe Artista. I appreciate that this place is like a home away from home. There's an area where it's a living room like feel and I can just relax and read and if I want to do some serious work, there's table set up for that as well. It is a good place both to study as well as to hang out with friends and play scrabble. The customer service is fantastic. Friendly, inviting Baristas. Once again, the small things in customer service goes a long way... smile, greet, and willingness to help. I am on a special eating regimen and needing to not have dairy or sugar with my coffee and the lady recommended a latte made with Almond Milk. It was superb... It was hard to get used to drinking latte or coffee for that matter without any type of sugar flavoring. Cafe Artista made it happen for me. It used to be Sister's, but not anymore! A couple things changed: the decor. Now it's cleaner and more empty looking and not as cute as before. It doesn't smell like coffee. Maybe it's had recent renovations but it smells more like paint. We're a fan of the mexican mocha which is there still - and good! 4/5 stars just because we liked it better as Sisters. Since this is only my second review on a cafe, so I draw all comparisons to the Starbucks Reserve in Seattle, WA. I recently moved to Pullman from Seattle, so I am what you may call a coffee snob. I enjoy the aroma before my first sip, I enjoy the feeling my local cafe gives me as I walk in, I enjoy critiquing every sip from the first to the muddy last. Yes, I am that guy, I am an asshole. This cafe is very quaint and in a good location for people watching. If you truly enjoy creeping they even converted a windowsill to a makeshift bed/couch to watch those who pass by without them suspecting that you are indeed, creeping. That seat would make John Herbert proud. The rest of the cafe has a very nice variety of couches, tables and bar stools which is suitable of you are of midget sized up to a WSU football player. I am neither. The baristas are nice, but not in a Starbucks "Hi, I'm fake please like me so I don't get fired." kind of way. I'm sure if I asked them a question I would not get a bland corporate cookie cutter reply. They do not rush you, they do not judge your drink of choice even if it involves getting an ingredient from a different dimension. They are quick, but not too quick. Polite, but not fake. And *gasp* I believe their smiles and niceties to be unfabricated. I have not tried to use their internet as I, like most normal humans nowadays use their cell phone's to create their own hotspot for safety. If my browser got out, we'd all be in trouble. I drink black coffee. Yes, I am probably the opposite of the Most Interesting Man in the World. While he brings the elephant to the room, I on the other hand prefer my cat mewosier. But for those of you that drink black coffee you know that there is no sugar coating it. It's either good, or it's not. No sweetener, syrups, milk of foam to cover up their terrible cup of joe (I'm talking to you, Starbucks). And their coffee is good. I've been there at busy times, and at slow times and not once has my plain, boring, black coffee been anything but perfect. However. In the first sentence I stated that I am comparing this review to the Starbucks Reserve. So here is a direct comparison. Taste, Artista. Price, Artista, Ambience, Artista, barista knowledge, Reserve, barista friendliness, tie. However. There is one area in which Cafe Artista is lacking the Reserve and if it could find a way to improve this I would be forever thankful. When drinking that $8 cup of drip coffee at the Reserve I had the most satisfying, long, and pleasureful #2 that any man, woman or child had ever had in their entire life. It was unnatural. If you, Artista could match that, all my money would go to you. All of it. read more

Can't explain how much I love this place. The food, the drinks, the place, the staff, the vibes, everything's sooooo good.

This is a beautiful and cozy coffee shop to hang out and I wished I could have done just that when I visited. One could even cozy up on the pillows in the front window and lay down. I stopped in to get an English breakfast tea,of which a small was $2.95. That's a lot more than Starbucks! I also didn't get a good vibe from the snarky signs in various places.....such as the one telling customers they may only take the sugar packets they need and that they are being watched. Really? Do people walk out of there carry a purse full of splenda? Rather tacky if you ask me. I will say that the two girls working were perfectly nice. Quad-shot Americano has no kick, and the Internet that you need to request a password for has no Internet. Slightly rude baristas. Anxiety-inducing music. Oh, and no Internet. Not impressed with this coffee shop. My friends and I went to try this place and when we first walked in, the atmosphere seemed really great and it smelled amazing too. However, things started to go downhill when we asked if they do just plain iced coffee. The cashier was happy to offer the fact that they can ice the lattes, macchiatos, etc. as well as offer their cold brew but I really just wanted a plain brewed coffee with ice. When I asked if they could just ice their classic coffee, her tone got a little snarkier in saying "yea, that's our cold brew" which is incorrect. Iced coffee and cold brew are not the same thing and have very different tastes but I just ordered it anyway. For a 16oz cold brew with oat milk, I paid $6.47 which is wayyyyy too much to pay for a coffee, regardless of what it is. When I did get the cold brew, it wasn't even very good. My friends who got a pumpkin spice cold brew, chai cold brew, and iced peppermint mocha also did not enjoy their drinks. We definitely won't be going back and definitely wouldn't recommend. read more

I am sitting here during the noon hour on a Sunday. The place is packed. NO ONE is sitting at the tables outside. Why is everyone (except myself and two other people) drinking out of plastic cups (with plastic lids and plastic straws)?? This is a college town. You are going to always be busy. Do everyone a favor and start serving all your drinks in reusable glasses/cups. If, of course, someone is ordering it "to go", that is different. I doubt, however, that all of these students sitting here with their books, laptops & books told you that they were ordering their drinks "to go". I don't like washing dishes either, but we ALL need to consider our impact on the environment. JUST SAY "NO" TO PLASTIC read more

Cafe Artists is a great place to have a cup of your favorite brew, if you're going it alone, on the way to UI or meeting friends, it's my go-to coffee shop. I've been going there for the last 2 years. I've never been disappointed. No matter how crowded it gets, especially on Saturday's during the farmer's market, the gals are always friendly and the service is fast. On Saturday, get your drink "to go" and walk across the street to the market. The atmosphere is laid back, with conversations going on and people "working" on their laptops and phones. read more

Coffee is very inconsistent and took them awhile to prepare. Not sure if the barista was new but coffee shouldn't take longer than five minutes to make. I love this place! It's so cute and cozy; couches, books, you name it. There's a toaster oven and microwave available for use, and even a couple computers. My coffee was delicious... one of the best lattes I've had in a long time, actually. The reason I took off a star is because of the hours, I just wish they were open a little later so I could come more often! Closing at 6pm makes it hard for people to get there after work, especially if coming from Pullman. read more

Not into coffee shops normally. Never understood the attraction! Met a couple of friends at Cafe Artista the other day. I really dig the vibe. Pretty chill. I even thought it'd be a nice place to read or work for a couple of hours. Got decaf. A bit lighter than other places. Fine by me though. I prefer them that way. Friend bragged about her choices in teas. In the back, a small meeting room great for intimate gatherings. I think it's my new go-to place to meet friends from now on! Quiet and relaxing. Baristas are helpful. Customers are respectful of others around them. Only gave a 4 star because it was my first time there. May revise to a 5 if they are consistently awesome. read more

Rude baristas. I brought my already over-priced americano back to the counter because for what was supposed to have 2 shots of espresso, it tasted like hot water with a hint of coffee. They told me that they wouldn't fix it and tried to make me pay an extra 60 cents for more espresso. I'm sorry ladies but I AM a barista, and I know that this is not what a 2 shot americano tastes like. Hey, pulling weak shots on accident happens to all of us. But as a barista, if you do this and a customer asks you to re-do their drink, the proper thing is to own up to it. Very, very bad customer service. They really concentrate on serving a quality product and doing so in an environment that is welcoming to every single customer. I was a regular customer at this coffee shop. I like stump town coffee and I liked the quiet atmosphere. Today they lost me as a customer because they wanted me to pay 60 cents for a teaspoon of honey! I tried to reason with them but got the cold shoulder instead of an apology! Instead of making the customer unhappy and loosing business they could have raised the prices of the coffee to offset the cost of the honey. Customer Service is want makes a business great. There are typically two varieties of caffeinated drip at the ready, with one free refill! (I'm looking at you, Bucers). The complimentary water is iced and infused with orange or lemon slices, and tastes nothing like the lead/metal flavored water at...other...coffeeshops. Fair selection of baked goods available from a bakery in Palouse, WA. Great seating with many couches, tables, and the famous window-sill seat! Music isnt too loud, its a coffehouse after all, and is usually extremely good (I heard an underground UK favorite). My only complaint is the short hours of operation! I usually enjoy my time here however, the new baristas are pretty rude. I made it clear that my fiance and I wanted drip coffee . The baristas told me each cup gets one free refill. I got my drip coffee first and went back to them to buy my fiances drip coffee they snarkily said I could use the same mug I was using for my fiance to use. I had to clarify that I did not receive my refill yet to get another coffee mug. Personally, I find this to be ridiculous because I made it obvious I was getting another mug for my fiance and they accused me of already having a refill when I did not. I was not asking for another refill when I just needed a drip coffee and another mug for my fiance. I would have gone to Brucers if it was open on Sundays it is inconvenient how you always have to ask for the wifi password and drip coffee is 2.50 for a 16 ounce cup. The atmosphere is not really inviting they get inpatient when you try to decide what you want to drink on other occasions. Time to go back to Brucers because the wifi is password free and the baristas are alot more friendly and they serve better coffee for around the same price. read more
