The Groupon entitled us to two private lessons, unlimited group lessons (during the week(s) of your private lessons) and two dance parties. We met with our dance instructor, Andrea, for our two private lessons and we both had a ball!!! She is amazing. Funny and sassy... she made it so much fun for us!! Sadly, we haven't been able to make the group lessons or dance parties because we live quite a distance away and my husband's work hours are insane. We would very much like to continue our lessons, but the cost of the private lessons is a little more than we can afford at the moment. I imagine the group lessons may be a bit more affordable so we're going to look into that! Ask for Andrea (pronounced Andre-a), she's a delight!!!

If you are looking for a well rounded competition dance program, this is NOT the studio for you. If you are looking for a studio that plays favorites, ignores dancers the owner doesn't like, and hires questionable teachers, this IS the studio for you. This studio focuses on jazz and lyrical. That's it. For tap, it depends on the teacher as to the experience you'll have. Competition students are NOT offered classes in hip hop, contemporary, modern, or musical theater. Only the favorites get those genres and only as competition routines. You are incredibly pressured to do private/semi-private lessons. That's the only way you MIGHT get any extra routines that are worth your time and money. But that's only if the owner likes your dancer. If she doesn't, get ready to only get a Pom Line (over 20 dancers) and a Hip Hop Line (over 20 dancers). Pom and hip hop are crap, rarely place well at competitions, and are not worth your time. Oh, and all the favorites are also in those routines, so be ready to be a back line spot filler. Extra routines, duo/trios, and solos are expensive. Solo choreography costs $750, and that is before a costume and competition entry fees. And your solo will only be in the annual recital if you are a graduating senior. Some teachers are great, some are not. There is a competition jazz/lyrical teacher who is one of the most insufferable humans I have ever met. I cannot believe the things I have heard her say to students. And because her dances do well at competitions, there no consequences for her. The owner has chased away many, many students with her insane favoritism and special treatment. Do yourself a favor...do not waste your time here.

For example, a family with two dancers left the studio in the summer of 2014 to pursue fame on the TV show Dance Moms. They joined a rival studio and competed for them. When the fame grab failed miserably, the girls came back to the studio in March of 2015, just before competition season. Not only did the studio owner welcome them back with open arms, but the best choreographer created five new dances just for these girls! The girls did not have to take twice weekly dance classes like all competition dancers are required to from September to May or attend a required convention. What kind of message does that send to all the other dancers? And that is just one example - there are many, many more. We have heard rumors that they give their favorite families discounts or waive costs all together too. Quite a few families quit the studio based on this unprofessionalism and preferential treatment. On the competition teams, Gotta Dance moves dancers up based on everything except ability. In the past, they have moved dancers to better groups based on scheduling conflicts, friendships with parents, and blatant nepotism. This favoritism has driven great dancers from the studio to the determent of the competition teams. This is no way to run a successful dance studio.
