We were in the area of Floyd, Virginia and at the recommendation of a local, stopped in. We visited in early January and the weather was bitter cold, so it was a perfect opportunity to stop in for a hot coffee. Easy to find, with a large parking lot on both sides of the building. The parking area was extremely spacious and allowed us to maneuver a truck pulling a car trailer with a car on it, no problem. We walked in and it was fairly busy with a good amount of the interior tables full of customers. We took a spot in line and quickly looked at their various swag. We both decided to order our standard vanilla lattes and were a bit surprised they did not offer almond milk, but they did have coconut milk, which we both opted for. We also ordered a couple of cookies for the road. We took a seat at one of the tables while our orders were prepared and visited the restrooms before heading back to North Carolina. Overall, this was a good stop but we would have loved the almond milk and the ability to order a 20 oz. coffee, they topped out at 16 oz.

Amazing local coffee shop with the best coffee in the area. My oatmilk latte came with beautiful latte art, and the orange cardamom muffin was pretty good. Their syrup options are made locally and are also available for sale in bottles. I love the cafe seating area downstairs with multiple windows and lots of merch displays. You can also sit upstairs, but the upstairs decor is a little bare. Service is friendly, but during rush times, the food and coffee can take a while. Overall a wonderful coffee shop, and I can't wait to be back!

Really cool coffee shop. Coffee is really good and sweet and savory pastries, and delicious breakfast sandwiches. They also sell an assortment of bagged coffees from Latin America, merchandise, and kettles and coffee tools. Everyone was very patient and friendly. All staff had a mask on while handling food and drinks too. Overall I really nice coffee spot to hang out, do some work, or just to grab coffee and go.

The menu is expansive and the building/sidewalk feel is great. Walking in you know you are in a coffee place- love that smell! They have refurbished an old building and really made a cool space, especially upstairs. This is my second time here- first time was good, so when we found a little flyer for 20% off we decided to come down to see them again! The immediate staff member (no name tag or I'd give him a shout out!) was friendly and informative. Unfortunately it kinda went downhill ( reason for 3 stars) when we showed the flyer and they acted like they were doing us a favor- I felt very awkward and probably wouldn't be as apt to return. We stood our ground and they gave us the discount, but ugh. BUT- the coffee was really good and maybe since they now know the little brochures exist they will be less defensive moving forward. They have a great variety of selections for coffee and tea/matcha lovers. Ps. They have order ahead:)

Stopped in while visiting Floyd Country Atore to get some beans right from the source. We have bought their beans before where we live and enjoyed them. We also picked up a tshirt, coffee mug, some local teas and local barista syrups. We ordered an ice tumeric latte which was yummy!

Red Rooster is absolutely a hidden gem of the SWVA region, and I'm so glad I made the trip from Roanoke. If it we're closer, I might just be back every day. Disclaimer: I'm not yet a coffee connoisseur. However, my pour over was delightful. I told the barista I like Ethiopian coffees, and although nine were available in-store, the barista recommended a wonderful Peruvian one instead. It was bright and acidic--just how I like it. The coffee was also served at a hot but very drinkable temperature, which I appreciated, but may not fare so well if taking your coffee to-go. The star of my breakfast was the local egg and cheddar sandwich on a sourdough bagel. The bagel was soft and tangy, the eggs rich, and the cheese tied everything together. Even without meat, this was an excellent breakfast sandwich. Last was the lemon blueberry donut. I was expecting a warm, soft donut and instead I got a cool, slightly crunchy one. This was a bit jarring at first, but not entirely unwelcome. The icing was perfectly balanced between the two flavors, and sweet enough but not overpoweringly so. It's not a reason in itself to make the trip, but I'd get it again when I return. Overall, this is a phenomenal little coffee shop, and I can see why it got crowded so quickly. If you love coffee, or just a great breakfast sandwich, I'd highly recommend stopping by.

Everyone working was so nice. I had never stopped in here before despite driving by many times. I stopped in to get coffee for a friend and was amazed to see how many things Red Rooster has! Coffee, teas, pastries, chocolates, drinks, kombucha, oils, flavored simple syrups. I gave it 4 stars not 5 because I did try the lemon poppy seed muffin & a blueberry lemon biscuit and neither were very good but honestly the service was good and there's so many options that I'm sure there's going to be something I'll enjoy. So I will try other menu items- they also have breakfast sandwiches and such so I'm excited to try some of those and lunch items! :)

Friendly baristas...

Great place! While looking for a spot for coffee in Floyd, Virginia--I found this delightful place! If I lived in Floyd, I would probably frequent the Red Rooster a couple of times a day! Unique drink options, friendly baristas and a wonderful selection of merchandise (from Red Rooster logo jean jackets and sweatshirts) to healthy food products. Plus, they have a great selection of baked goods--including beautiful cookies! The barista mentioned that those goodies are baked daily. Simply a not-to-miss place!!

Very good coffee and breakfast bagel sandwiches. Service was a little slow, and there was not much seating.

Good food and coffee, but the cashier can be quite rude and unpleasant. May not be coming back, it's a bit out of the way too.

The baristas were very welcoming and knowledgeable, providing a sample of the coffee (we were given a coffee from Burundi) , providing some information on their harvesting and roasting practices, and opening up the floor to an audience Q&A. Ambiance is very modern and chic and there are two bathrooms open to visitors in the facility. I would recommend going on time to the tasting if possible for the best seating/experience. I came 15 min late and the seats were all taken and it was a full house. There were no issues with finding parking; there is a gravel lot adjacent to the roastery. Overall, a very unique experience!

He was very friendly and very personable. You can tell he absolutely loves his city and coffee. He was just phenomenal. Several regulars stopped in and he knew them by name. They were equally as excited and praised his coffee. They had me super excited and glad that I stopped by. He does not sell prepared coffee drinks in the shop, but did recommend local bakeries and cafes that did. BTW, Dots & Pearls was one he recommended and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! He sales coffee beans. This is a roastery, so you're getting fresh roasted beans from some of the most notable coffee regions in the country. It is awesome. I purchased a bag of Sumatra dark roast and a big bottle of chai concentrate. My partner said the chai is delicious. I wholeheartedly recommend that you stop by and chat it up with the owner and of course purchase some high quality coffee. I definitely cannot wait to come back to High Point. Oh yeah, you can purchase the coffee online!!

Walked into Salvation Coffee for the first time this year, but I've been here multiple times…read morethroughout 2025, so this isn't a one-off experience. Kept it simple--nitro cold brew and an iced Bear Claw with almond milk. First off, that nitro was clean as hell. Smooth, no bitterness, and the fact that it's naturally sugar-free without sacrificing flavor? That's a win all day. The Bear Claw was solid too--nice balance with the almond milk, not overly sweet, just easy to enjoy. And one thing I really respect--their whipped cream is always sugar-free. That's huge for me living a sugar-free lifestyle, and it shows they actually think about their customers. Best part though, out of nowhere, both the barista and I looked up and boom... line out the door. We kind of just looked at each other like "well damn," and honestly, good for them. That's what happens when you're doing things right. Even with the rush, everybody kept a great attitude. Customers, staff; just good people all around. That small-town Burlington feel is real here. Folks talking, connecting, or just chilling on the couch doing their own thing--no pressure, no weird energy, just a genuinely cool environment. And this place actually feels welcoming. Not that forced "too cool" coffee shop vibe you sometimes get. Just real people, treating you like a normal human being. That goes a long way. Also worth calling out... So their rewards program is legit. You get 10 points for every dollar you spend, and it adds up fast. I've already built up enough where I could knock about half off my bill if I wanted to. That's real value, not just marketing fluff. It's got that perfect mix of small-town vibe with modern convenience, and I really hope that never changes. This has been a consistently solid spot for me, and I'll keep coming back!

I've been to Salvation many times, and it used to be one of my top-recommended coffee shops in Burlington, NC. Unfortunately, not anymore. Customer service during my recent visits has been disappointing. The baristas often made me feel like an inconvenience rather than a customer. While there was one occasion when the person at the register was kind and welcoming. My most recent visit was the day after Christmas when I met up with my siblings, and the experience was especially unpleasant. The atmosphere was unwelcoming, customer service was poor, and the coffee itself was underwhelming. The espresso in my latte was barely noticeable. Worst of all, the music was extremely loud and filled with constant profanity, to the point that we felt uncomfortable staying inside and had to leave to meet outside instead. I hope this review is not taken in the wrong way, but I genuinely used to enjoy Salvation Coffee, but the decline in service, atmosphere, and overall experience has been noticeable and disappointing.
