We came here to try their deli sandwiches and while they are passable, they're only just that. The other "Amish deli" nearer to me, Walker Valley Market, definitely has them beat on portion, food quality, value and especially seating! This place only has outdoor tables and the inside is very small. I can't say it was all bad news, as my guest who got a gluten free sandwich was very happy with it, but the drink selection is also sparse and I'm probably not going to seek this place out again. read more

I had a fun time visiting the Bread Basket when I was in Roanoke. The store is brimming with all kinds of pantry items like fruit preserves, spices, local merchandise like soap and honey, deli counter, a very robust selection of gluten free items in the fridge area, specialty coffees just to name a few. I got to try their pizza sub that had lots of deli meat inside. It was very salty and could have tasted better with some cheese and tomatoes of sort. The highlight of the store in my opinion was their light and airy snickerdoodle cookies and the very reasonably priced vanilla extract. The entire town of Floyd is a lovely area to visit and I look forward to stopping by again when I am in the area. read more

They sell spices, candy, snacks, milk, honey, etc. The people there are always very nice and friendly! The store is super cute and it's easy to find what you are looking for. I was passing in and out of Floyd, and this store kept coming up on "beat things to do in Floyd." I stopped for lunch and got one of the best roast beef sandwiches ever. The sweet 1000 Island dressing made it almost perfect! My only "complaint"--Get Coke products and Dump Pepsi! The store itself offers hundreds of spices, baking ingredients, candy in every form and a Deli. I can't wait to return! read more

Haven't been there, but a friend shared this notice on Facebook that was apparently posted there. If you are a conspiracy theorist who doesn't care about the health of your fellow citizens, I would highly recommend this place. If you have a rudimentary understanding of science and the law (for instance, HIPAA does not apply to places of public accommodation), then I'd recommend shopping elsewhere. My wife and mother both have MS, so I find it especially annoying when people try to use laws designed to protect the rights of disabled people to justify their own selfish behavior. We're always learning more about the disease, but, at this point, it seems likely that some people with MS are at higher risk of serious illness or death from COVID-19, so I really appreciate those who do wear masks. read more

This is a great little bakery/grocery store/deli! It's one of the places that I am happy to go well out of my way to visit and patronize more often. I live in Blacksburg, easily half an hour away, and this little store is well worth the trip. The people are extremely friendly, the store has many things I can't get elsewhere, and the bakery is just absolutely fantastic. I definitely suggest going here if you're in the area. I like to stop in for a quick sandwich but tried the gluten free bread and it was so bad I had to just eat the meat off the bread. Ugh. Beautiful drive out from Christiansburg and nice quaint place to eat a sandwich for lunch. Sandwich and wrap were fresh, amply stuffed and very tasty.
