Stopped by this establishment because I heard the food was good from locals. Brought two of my friends in. Sat up at the bar area where we thought we would get better service. Set their 15 minutes and watched 2 barmaids/waitresses pass by us several times. I tried to get her attention and called out ma'am several times only to be completely ignored. PROS: The beer was cold CONS: Ordered the Cuban. Turns out they have no idea how to make one! WRONG BREAD IMPROPERLY PREPARED! The right bread prepared correctly is one of the "KEY" components of a good Cuban sandwich. When my order first arrived, it was on "RYE" bread that wasn't even toasted. I sent it back because I hate that kind of rye bread and carraway seeds. The second time my order came, it was on a "SOGGY" sesame hamburger bun and again not pressed on a grill as a Cuban sandwich is "ALLWAYS" pressed panini style... Not sure why this item is on the menu when It's obvious that they never took the time to learn how to make one. I can't comment on the sandwich filling due to not making it past the bread. I would have taken pics, however; I was with a group of friends and didn't want to make a scene. The proper bread is readily available here locally. So not sure what the deal is. $14 down the tube! Service is amazing. Love the bar, very cute dive.. The BBQ on the other hand was not as good as expected.. Too much apple cider vinegar in the sauce and a hit of cinnamon and clove and brushed on everything made it all one note.. Prime rib was soooo overcooked and too thin, ribs and pulled pork were great, again I wish I could taste the rub and not the sauce.. Update my boyfriend got food poisoning... A-MA-ZING!!!! We shared the 2 pounds of ribs with 2 sides (Cole slaw and mac and cheese) and I literally did the food happy dance in my chair! It was our first time in, and chose this place to stop at for dinner on the long road trip from Bend, OR back to home about 35 miles north of Seattle. The directions lead you to the location they JUST moved from (owner said it was only day 3 in the new place) and the sign that led us to the right place was perfect. We found it and went in. Cool mine shaft vibe. The bar area was where it's at!! Game was on, beer was so ice cold, and the food!!!!! Yum!!! I declared that this had to be a regular stop now. This was another spot that I had experienced more than once, but I've never actually ordered from on my own. One evening everybody had a hankering for some barbecue and so we decided to grab some BBQ to go. This place is located just off the main drag in Selah right after you get into town. It's pretty well the definition of a dive bar. Not necessarily in the ironic hipster Way, but in the trending to old west way. There's a decent amount of seating, They appear to have a good number of TVs, and The woman working there was very nice. It's also the sort of place that it wouldn't surprise me to read one day at a giant bar fight broke out and then everybody, after being bloodied and bruised, all get up and had a beer together. We had a smattering of Different things of the menu including the ribs, some pulled pork and The pork belly nuggets. All of the meats were delicious and the pork belly nuggets were a total hit! We're never big fans of coleslaw or beans, and these ones were just OK, just like everyone else's. The one knock I have against this place is that they didn't have corn bread. When you're serving barbecue, you got to have corn bread! Otherwise, the place was solid. As stated above, it's probably the sort of spot you're going to be more excited to get takeout at, unless you're into the mash up of biker bar and cowboy bar. This place is most definitely a dive bar! Don't let the aesthetics ward you away from trying the food though. The BBQ at this place is delicious! I ordered the Pork Belly Mac n Cheese and the Pulled Pork sandwich. Both were amazing AND more than reasonably priced. The server was also friendly, fast, and didn't miss a thing with our order. Can I just say "WOW!" This place is everything and more. I'm currently traveling for work and love to try local places and this place blew me away. You walk in and know this place is full of its regulars. Asked the bartender if their Mac and cheese was good, 4 different people pipped up at once saying things along the lines of "it's good as heck" and they were not kidding! They also recommended the pulled pork with it and it was phenomenal. You could tell the bartender enjoyed her job and cared about the patrons. I will be back next time I'm in town! In today's world trying to find a quality meal at a good price seems like climbing a cliff covered in ice while your whole body is covered in baby oil. So imagine my surprise when I first bit into the prime rib and mashed potato's dinner last Thursday. Talk about slap yo mama good! The meat was thick, flavorful and tender (can anybody give me an ohh, la, la), the potatoes and gravy were as smooth as a post woopie makin' Marlboro lite and the ice water is...well it's ice water but it didn't matter. Did an uber one delivery of a burger and garlic fries. unfortunatly i can't eat onion due to an allergic reaction so asked them to hold the onions. they held everything. i got a cold burger with cheese and regular fries. i always appreciate when a restaurant can honor the request to hold something, especially since my husband works as a cook. sounds like the cook got mad at the request and sent the worst burger. wont try again read more

Good BBQ is hard to find in Yakima. This place solves that problem. Their BBQ ribs are fall off the bone tender and very flavorful. The BBQ sauce is not your typical catsup and brown sugar concoction. It's a thin, spicy, vinegar based Carolina sauce. I'm going to ask if they sell the sauce by the quart. It is not overly sweet, just right. The 4 rib plate dinner will fill you up. The Mac and cheese was the best I have had in a very long time. There were several guys at the bar when I went in, they all said hello. They have Prim Rib on Thursdays and we will defiantly make that real soon. The service was prompt and friendly. read more

Yep, it's a dive bar, but that is sometimes where the best food is made. We met the owners at a Car Show at the Elks Lodge where they were serving up burgers and BBQ from their food truck. They sold out of everything before any of the other Vendors and had to leave early. We talked to them and told them we'd stop by for lunch while we were still in town. Locals were sitting at the bar when we arrived, and we were greeted by Randi the bartender with a cheerful hello and "what can I get you to drink?" Many selections of beer on tap and they were ice cold. We shared the Black and Bleu Burger and Crispy Fries. This was absolutely, by far, the best black and bleu burger we ever had, the onions were grilled and topped with a balsamic glaze. The fries were too the best we've ever had! The only reason I didn't give them a 5 was the interior looked like they are going through a renovation, BUT, it is clean. If I could give it a 4.75, I would. Randi was delightful, the Cook came out and was cordial, happy when I gave him a thumbs up! When we come this way again, this is a definite stop over for lunch or dinner! read more

Stopped in because I was feeling hungry. My server recommended the BLT and it didn't disappoint. Served on Texas toast it had a lot of bacon in every bite. The bacon was thick and perfectly cooked. For my side, I chose the macaroni salad and it was good as well. Pay a visit, the food is good. read more

So today I went to this little dive bar in Selah names Red Rooster. I had heard that the have good BBQ there and chicken wings. I went inside and as advertised, a dive bar. Personally some of the best foods come from places like this. The bar tender came up and said if she could help me. I told that rumor has it that y'all have good BBQ. She suggested the BBQ sampler. It came with ribs, pulled pork, brisket, baked beans, and fries. Let me tell you. The ribs. The meat just slid right of the bone and tender and juicy. The pulled pork was just as moist and tender. The brisket was cut a little too thin for my liking but it was good. The baked beans were good but they serve them cold. I like mine hot. The only bad thing is that the bartender told me that it came with toast and I didn't get any. I will definitely be back to the Red Rooster. Not only because of their food but they are strong supporters of our military men and women and our Police officers. Thank you Red Rooster. read more
