Darts, pool, karaoke nights, and good drinks. What more can you ask for. The drinks here that i've gotten have always been consistently good. The food from what me and my friends have had has also been good. The fries here are delicious. The space is decently sized and there is large outside seating area. Per Fred's comment on my review, if it wasn't a language barrier then why when my cousin tried to explain that he merely TRIPPED on the steps going into the establishment did he say he was intoxicated? Without trying to understand or hear him out? Or having another guard to look at him? We hadn't been to Hoops for years. We were looking for someplace new for lunch and not overpriced. Wow! We had a great lunch. My spouse had Turkey Bacon Melt with the Seasoned Battered Fries, which were both great. He started with the fries and after the first bite stated "you have to test these". Of course, I did and they were great as being perfectly cooked and flavorful. I had the Hot Dog with cheese, bacon bites and onions which was very good. I substituted a salad for the fries. I might rethink that choice next time as the fries are that good! We'll be back to try more items. And the price was reasonable as it's a Dive Bar. read more

The security guard was checking ID's and asked us if we specifically went to sports center, when we said we went there for ONE drink he told us he wouldn't let us in and told us to go back to sports center because we weren't welcome at hoops! We didn't even do anything wrong, Later on that night, a hoops employee who would rather be at sports center, told us that hoops claims that sports center is their rival, as I see it, hoops is losing customers with that bad attitude. I had lunch with a friend last week. The food and service was great. Sadly I am a reformed smoker and can't tolerate cigarette smoke. I would like to return to your restaurant but can not due to people smoking while I am trying to enjoy my meal. This place absolutely sucks. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. The bartender who's name was Stephanie was rude and didn't give me or my friend the time of day. When she was confronted about it she just got even more rude, stumbled on her words and eventually completely ignored us. Not kicking us out but just utterly ignoring us. Almost like she didn't want to have to do her job. This lady Stephanie should be fired and should not work in the customer service industry. Usually go here every Saturday night and have no issues, last night however my tab is literally 100 dollars more than it's ever been due to the staff allowing people that aren't me or my wife put drinks on our tabs. I don't usually post things like this but when I brought this to the attention of the staff I was met with hostility and rudness all around from the bar outside on the patio. Attempted to go to Hoops tonight for the first time in a few years for a friends divorce party... boy let me tell you a funny story! We show up an attempt to go inside and are told to wait outside so we step back outside of the door to wait until we can go inside, we continue to wait about 2-4 minutes mind you it's cold outside.
