I am so happy that I located Red River Paper. I had almost given up hope of ever finding the paper that I needed. Every year I design and print photo calendars for my family. I usually print 5 of them, although in some years I have done more. Printing the calendar grid and the photos front/back, I use 13 pieces of paper per calendar (which means I need 65 pieces of paper total). I absolutely have to have high-quality, double-sided, matte finish paper that is at least 32 lb. weight. I used to use HP Premium Presentation Paper, but apparently that is no longer manufactured. Local stores either had a) nothing that could handle double-sided printing, b) paper was 28 lb. (which I have found to be much too light) or c) card stock (much too heavy). I was able to locate an Epson paper, but it was only 50 sheets - obviously not enough - and it wasn't cheap, either. Days of searching online finally brought me to Red River Paper. When I saw that they produce only inkjet paper and they had exactly what I was looking for, I was ecstatic. And, they're located here in Texas, which made it even better! Ordered a box of their 32-lb. double-sided matte paper. Ordering was easy, and price was actually very reasonable for a box of 100 sheets (even with shipping included). Delivery was quick. Results were superb! No more frantically searching for paper to print my calendars. I'll definitely be coming back to Red River Paper when I need to replenish my stock. read more

I will no doubt say that Red River has great paper especially for the fine art photographer. You can buy online or pick up. Their prices are hefty but worth it. Shipping is worth the price if you don't want to drive to Dallas. You save about $5. Customer service is awful. They aren't exactly the friendliest and they just have this lazy looking demeanor. But hey, when you make great paper why would you have to be nice to a customer? read more

This paper company has good products. But, I am very confused about why their shipping service is so poor. I have placed orders from small businesses around the country and Red River always comes in last. It took two full weeks to receive my last (very small) order from them, and I paid full shipping. In these days of fantastic services like those we receive from companies like Amazon, or frankly the small sellers like on Etsy, it is very weird that this company does something strange with their shipping. I think if they would like to make more money, this is what they should fix. I also recommend if there is anyone out there who would like to start a competing business - all you need is better shipping and you will out pace their sales easily. read more

I agree Red River has great papers. They are definitely a great alternative to Epson papers. I do wish they had more artistic paper choices. I would really love it if they carried a canvas. I love their sample kits! It is a very affordable way to try their papers before you buy. I mainly had to write a response to Esther H. I have been a Red River customer for over 3 years. I deal with their customer service frequently. They have the most knowledgeable customer service reps I have ever dealt with. They have always been very friendly, helpful and fast, which is important to me when I have a ton of errands to run. Their return and exchange policy is one of the best Ive seen. Based upon the tone of your review regarding their "lazy looking demeanor" I am sure they were not the ones with the attitude problem. That sentence doesn't even make sense. I wonder how your demeanor "looks". I hope most intelligent people will try the paper and form their own opinions of the product and the service instead of putting any weight into Esther's childish review. Any professional photographer also knows that their prices are not "hefty" but quite reasonable and borderline cheap, especially for the quality of product. Their ink prices are the cheapest in town. Unfortunately I would not say they have great paper for the "fine art photographer" since they only have two true art paper. I have to wonder what Esther's definition of "fine art" is. read more

Wow I don't know who these other reviewers have been dealing with but this has not been my experience at all. I find Red River paper quality to be as good or better than Epson, Canon or Moab and their prices lower. Their customer service has always been very good. I e-mailed them a question after they closed last night and had a polite response at 8 am this morning. Their tech support has been very helpful. I usually don't write such positive reviews but in this case I just have not had any problems with Red Rivers products or service. read more

I just have to shout out to graphic designers about this great place for ink jet papers. If you run an epson for proofing or are trying to print a portfolio give this place a try for some alternatives to using the tired old epson heavy weight matte. Order their ink jet paper sample pack online and get a chance to try them all out too. read more

Shipping still kills me, but their service is wonderful and helpful, and they accommodate requests for samples (which really helps). Hopefully they find a way to be able to charge cheaper prices for shipping or offer free shipping for larger orders (and yes I read their FAQ about this). All in all their quality can't be beat for inkjet papers. read more

I am a Florida based pro photographer. I use various labs, but often have to come up with a print fast and print photos myself. Red River is by far the best paper available at any price. BEWARE RED RIVER PAPER COMPANY!!!!! I received a severely damaged 24" roll of inkjet paper from Red River Paper, and reported it to them as soon as I opened and attempted to use it. They have refused to replace the paper because I reported it later than 45 days after delivery. This clearly indicates how Red River Paper treats its customers when problems arise! CAVEAT EMPTOR - BEWARE RED RIVER PAPER COMPANY!!!... Tonight I got a very reasonable offer of restitution from Drew Hendrix, a VP at Red River, so they have redeemed themselves! read more

I'm from Canada & have purchased from Red River before. This time when I ordered, the shipping price was disappointingly high - doubled my purchase $. I contacted them by email & Drew checked into this for me & was very helpful & found a much better price for shipping. Besides the shipping costs - I truly love their paper. So many different types/styles & many sizes to choose from & personally, I think their prices are quite reasonable! Hopefully this will always be my go-to photographic paper people!! read more

They have such a great variety of products and sizes, their prices are more than reasonable and their customer service is outstanding. I have been printing my own photographs for a couple of years now and have used Red River papers fairly regularly, as well as several other papers (e.g., Epson, Moab etc). Until recently, I've had good experiences with Red River in terms of product quality, shipment speed, value-for-money, etc. Recently, however, I had a shopping experience that left me very disappointed. I wanted to place a large order (for at least $400 in paper) for a solo exhibition I'll be printing. The exhibition is a fundraiser for a local charity, so every penny I save in production costs is a penny that will be turned over to the charity (and in fact, I'll be donating some of the prints themselves, so I'll be out-of-pocket). I contacted RR to ask if they offered any discounts in situations like this, whether there were some coupons available I'd overlooked or whether they had any imminent sales planned for the premium paper I was ordering. I know that a business has no obligation to offer a special discount or share such information, but almost every other business I've dealt with in connection with the work I've done for charities has been helpful in this way (e.g., letting me know of an upcoming sale, etc.) I gave the rep my account information so they could see what was in my shopping cart and take note of the fact that I was a regular customer with reasonably large and fairly frequent orders for a consumer. The customer service rep told me there were no offers or coupons applicable to the paper I wanted and that they couldn't offer a special discount. Since I was up against a deadline, I decided to go ahead and order the paper - I couldn't wait for a sale. The order went through, and I ordered enough products to at least take advantage of their 5% off price for Rewards Points members. Meanwhile, I had somehow managed to save a near duplicate "cart" under a second email address - I had forgotten that I have two accounts with RR. 24 hours later, I start getting "we see your cart is full, how can we help" messages from RR. And within about a day, I started getting promo offers - the last one was an offer for 15% on my order. I called RR and asked if they would consider either: (a) retroactively applying that discount to paper in my order that was intended for the exhibition,r or (b) giving me a credit for the difference in price to apply to a future order. Again, I explained that the paper was for a show to benefit a charity. Again, the customer service rep demonstrated no flexibility. Red River is of course entitled to run its business as it sees fit and it's entitled to offer coupons selectively, to not apply them retroactively, etc. Their inflexible customer service doesn't detract from the quality of their products. But there are other providers of high quality paper for photographers. Previously, I recommended RR products to other photographers and until this experience I would have expected to continue buying from them. But this experience was a turn-off. I will take my business elsewhere and cease recommending them. read more

I must agree with Esther here, the paper is good, not great but the customer service is very bad at best, I have never dealt with them in person but over the phone and email its just bad. Very rude and confrontational, once they answer your original question they treat you as your additional questions are a bother. I always order the same paper and size but sometimes the paper comes warped like have circle shaped, not flat like other times, I am not sure what that is about but the paper is good but not superb. read more

I have received my inkjet paper sample kit, I am very please with those papers and my new Epson r3000, I wrote 3 times to RedRiver to ask some questions about ICC and how to use 13x38 sheet and each time a received an answer from these peeples in les than 2 hours. i haven't used a lot of Red River paper yet but what I have used is really nice. I'm using the ultra pro satin and it has a light texture it seems to me. i wrote and asked a question and got a quick reply. They rate the paper I'm using at 20+ years. That to me is realistic. The 80-200 yrs other's claim sound like they are saying they don't know but it could be! Ordered the paper on the phone and got it when they said I would. But keep in mind that if it's late, it's usually the carrier's fault. read more
