These people scamming you ! If they say they charge same price to install just know this place is ripping you off ! You don't actually get as many bales and when they do installs it looks decent from far away but when you walk up you notice a lot of brown and very thin when they put it out ! They should have it 3-4 inches ..they spread this crap 1-2 inches maybe ...yeah would never used this company again obviously they are scammers in the Pinestraw buisness ! You don't get a lot of trash but the pinestraw def isn't "RED" one of the most expensive places to buy it and you def get ripped off here ! Also a lot of these companies keep string from old jobs and include it making them think they didn't rip You off ! This is probably the worst pinestraw business in ga ! It's a SCAM ! They brought old decomposed pine straw to install and refused to bring fresh pinestraw when it was pointed out. I have used them in the past but the quality and service has taken a steep decline. Would not recommend for pine straw. Very disappointing read more

We ordered 70 bales for our property, we did end up needing more but the guys who came to install were great and we just added the extra ones on! Our yard finally looks good! While they were easy to schedule and on time, they either short you bales or their bales are half the industry standard size. I have lived in my house 20 years and 140 bales reliably provides a thick coat throughout. However with this company it provided a very thin coat and they left 1/4 of the yard not completed because he said he ran out. Buyer beware. Either go with another company or double your order. read more

It is difficult to overstate the value of a company like Red Pinestraw. For a reasonable price, a homeowner gets a choice of pine straw with delivery and installation included. They are hard to beat. I experienced friendly customer service over the phone and a very courteous and professional delivery person/installer. The only area of improvement: A more meticulous placement of the pine straw, being more careful not to cover flowers and shrubs. Other than that, it's hard to imagine ever buying and laying down pine straw by any other method. I was quit impressed by Red Pinestraw. The second time I utilized their services I actually received a slightly better deal than I did the year prior. The delivery and install person did a marvelously meticulous job. Again, even better than the person who delivered the pine straw the first time we hired this company. The bad news is that dealing with dispatch can be extremely frustrating. Customer phone calls that go unreturned, scheduling issues, and general communication problems. A bit more attention paid to operations process improvement is in order. I can certain understand how busy Red Pinestraw is, especially considering their overall value. It may be time to increase the number of front office employees. Despite the problems with dispatch I am again awarding Red Pinestraw four stars. If there is a better deal out there, other than doing it yourself, I am not aware of one. read more

My only issue was with the lack of accountability for all the pine straw. We ordered a lot of bales and I wanted a count as they came off the truck. Unfortunately, I could not keep up and I think I was charged for more bales than were actually spread. But I found one bale in some trees still unopened after the delivery crew left. So maybe they were just disorganized. The result looked good. read more

Redpine straw is the worst at ensuring customer satisfaction and staying committed to timelines. I had scheduled 2 weeks in advance a delivery and installation of 150 bales. 75 for me and 75 for my next door neighbor. They gave me a delivery time if 9-10am for today. That worked out well because we were leaving to go out of town at 2:00pm today. They called me around 10:15am to say that there late due to the rain. I understood and was cool with it but 12:30 came around and I called back to get an ETA because it was supposed to be earlier that morning, why are they now 2.5 hours late. Amy said she would call me back after she spoke to the driver. She called back and said that he could not be there by 2:00pm and if I wanted to reschedule. Hell naw, because we agreed to 9-10 today and we wanted our yard looking nice before we left. So I asked her what time could they get here and she said 2.30. This would put us behind but I told her we would wait. I called her back at 2:24 and she said they are on the way. I then asked her if she could give me a discount due to the inconvenience and putting us out of our schShe said they don't give discounts. It is now 3:25pm and I they are still not here. What kind of business are they operating?If I supposed to be one of the first this miring, why am I still waiting 5 hours later? Never will I use or recommend this business to anyone. Ordered 80 bales of pine straw, they showed up and the bales are half the size of a normal bale; the driver even agreed with me that they were not full size and said hey " I just deliver the stuff" I called the main office and told them the bales were half the size of a normal bale to which they said they would take 20 cents off per bale. I declined and they just hung up. The delivery guy said sorry loaded up the bales and drove off. read more

This team was great. They were able to accommodate my request on very short notice (after another company no showed on me), showed up promptly, and communicated well throughout the scheduling and appointment. I was VERY pleased with the employees and the customer service. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the Pinestraw just doesn't seem to cover as thoroughly as it has in the past with other companies. I texted Red Pinestraw earlier this week and was able to schedule delivery and installation to my home later in the week to accommodate my schedule. Carlos and his assistant came out, arrived early, and got to work after I showed them where I wanted the pine straw laid out. I had a feeling I didn't order enough and told them where to not spread it if, indeed, I didn't order enough. The pine straw was clean and bundles were large. The guys worked quickly and efficiently, too! Sure enough, I didn't order enough. Once the guys were finished, they walked me around and we discussed how many bales I should order for next time. Based on their prices, responsiveness, professionalism, and honesty...I'll certainly use them again. Highly recommended. read more

Two weeks in advance I made an appointment for pinestraw delivery. A week later they called to change the appointment, fine. Then they simply texted to change it back. Fine. Then texted again to change it. The day before the new delivery date at 9am I called to confirm since there seemed to be a lot of ambiguity. No one called back, so I called again at 6pm. Finally they confirmed the next morning at 9am. At 10:30am the next morning they still did not show. They texted to say their driver did not show and they would be there by noon. Fine. At 12:30pm they still had not shown up so I called them. No answer. I called every 30 minutes and texted, no response. Finally late that afternoon they called to say they were on their way, but I had an afternoon appointment so said that day was no longer good for me, that I already spent ¾ of my day waiting for them. They said they would call back after 6pm to reschedule. No phone call, and I even called them at 7pm without a response. The next morning at 9am I called and they actually answered. They didn't know if they could come that day or not. After several more phone calls they said they could come. They actually came. For 6 years I have gotten 50 bales and it covered the yard thick and looked great. I tried Red Pinestraw because of the original company I used went up in price and this company received great reviews online. What looked like about 30 bales worth of straw they said I needed to order more. I said no, that 50 bales is always more than enough. They said ok and spread more with little argument and only charged me for 50 bales at the end. They tried to scam me. From start to finish Red Pinestraw was terrible and I will not be using them again. read more

Buyer Beware! I ordered 75 bales of long leaf pine straw from Redpinestraw, Inc. to be delivered and spread for $5.45 @ bale, a decent price. The delivery schedule was a week out and about an hour before the delivery was to take place I received a phone call cancelling the delivery due to an emergency with the truck driver. I rescheduled for Tuesday, April 17 and verified the terms were unchanged. A Redpinestraw truck did show up at the designated time but only had one worker (Junior from Duluth) with the truck and straw. I walked the property and showed where I wanted the pine straw spread; this was easy as the pine straw from last year was still apparent. Hearing about scams in the area, I watched the worker unload some bales from the truck onto my driveway. I watched and counted each bale taken to be spread around my house and in my yard. Trying not be so obvious, I went into my house and watched out a window overlooking the back of the truck and the pine straw. I counted the bales taken away. I went back out and observed the new straw; it was very thinly spread so I went to Junior and told him he was spreading the straw a lot thinner than I do. He replied that this was just the first layer of straw; he would go back and add another layer of straw on top of this. I went back in the house and observed again the rear of the truck and the pile of pine straw. When he closed the truck door and appeared to be pulling away from my back yard, I went out to engage him on the number of bales delivered and spread. I had counted 35 bales and I asked him how many he was supposed to deliver. He mumbled around and said he had spread all I had ordered. I told him I had ordered 75 and he had only delivered 35. No, he said, he had delivered 75. It was absolutely clear at this point that this was not a matter of miscounting a couple of bales. I told him that I had not received half of my 75 bale order and I was calling the police. This really got his attention and no, no, no -don't call the police. I asked him what he was going to do to correct the problem and he pulled his cell phone out to call his supervisor. This turned out to be Amy; he told her that he had delivered the pine straw but I did not agree with his story that he delivered 75. He gave the phone to me and I repeated the discrepancy; Amy said he may have miscounted and I said there is no way he miscounted 40 bales more than I saw. She said to tell him to leave the amount I said was missing. He talked to her again and then asked me where I wanted the extra straw. I said I wanted it to be thick enough so I couldn't see the old pine straw underneath. I had not looked at the areas that were supposed to be covered so then I discovered nothing was placed on the outer perimeter of the back yard fence. He went to the truck and raised the back door. He asked how many bales I wanted and I told him the areas that still needed to be covered. I told him anything that was left could be put against my backyard fence at the end of the driveway. I said I needed 40 more and then he said that he had delivered 45 so I only got 30. So now he was admitting not 75 bales were delivered but 30 less than that. I may have missed a trip when going from outside to inside but I am sure I had received no more than 35. He proceeded to throw about 30 bales off and then began on the perimeter of my fence. When he came back I told him he could fill the bed of my truck and put any remaining after he finished the fence in a stack at the end of the driveway. He said he wouldn't load my truck so I told him to put it all in the driveway stack. I ended up with 27 bales in my driveway. Naturally, the worker was in a hurry to get out of there so I paid with a check and asked him to clean up some of the straw scattered in my driveway. So to sum up the transaction, I did not get the full amount of pine straw that I had ordered and the price was based on spreading it once delivered so I lost on that. I minimized my loss by holding the company to deliver what was ordered or close to it. I will not speculate whether it was Redpinestraw, Inc.'s tactic to attempt to short change me on the number of pine straw bales delivered vs. what was ordered or if it was solely the worker who came to make the delivery. The spreading was not up to standard as many bare spots were observed and the clean-up will have be done by myself due the lack of quality provided by the worker. So I say Buyer Beware to any who plans to purchase delivered and installed pine straw; stay with the truck and count every bale taken away by a worker and do not allow yourself to be distracted. You can ensure several ways to ensure you are getting what you pay for; if you have room, have the pine straw unloaded in one place and count the bales before it is spread. I used Red Pinestraw last summer and was pleased with their service. Called them again this year and it was a completely different experience. The crew came and put out the pine straw. This pine straw was loaded with leaves and sticks it looked really bad. I thought that after a couple of weeks I wouldn't notice it anymore but it still looks really bad. I have a large hill that has some landscaping growing in. When the crew installed the pine straw the buried all our blue junipers and our bushes were covered in pine straw I had to pull the pine straw away myself. While doing this I'm not even sure the full 140 bales I ordered and paid for was actually installed the new pine straw looked very sparse on top of the old. When I called I was offered 10 cents off a bale for pine straw that should not have even been installed in the first place due to all the leaves and sticks but once it is out in your yard you can't return it. I am extremely disappointed and will never call or recommend Red Pine Straw again. read more

We have used this company before and we were familiar with the cost. However they came to a new property and installed the wrong needle and charged us a lot more money. When it was explained that we were not told the cost and that it will not be the short needle, the woman on the phone said that the other girl would have given us the information and although we told her that we were not told she held that the information would have been provided. They did not care at all that we explained that it was not the fact. We will go else where for our future installation. Extremely poor customer service. read more

Red Pinestraw was very reasonably priced and could deliver next day. They were prompt, friendly, quick and did a great job. The Pinestraw is very good quality as well. I scheduled installation with Red Pine straw for may 15, 2017. They showed up 6 hours late with the wrong type of pine straw. i ordered red/gold pine straw. They showed up with brown pine straw. I was very upset. I called the company and no one was available. Unfortunately I had to send back the guys that showed up with the wrong pine straw. My experience was a big disappointment. I found these guys online as I needed to get pine straw down ASAP before I get a violation from the HOA. Called / texted this morning and they just happen to be in the Marietta area. Showed up at 4:30pm as promised and now my yard looks 100% better. The crew was fast and even cleaned up the drive way and bed sides. Pine Straw is clean too. VERY WELL PLEASED and no hidden charges. I saw one of my neighbors had some fresh pinestraw put down around May timeframe, asked who put it down and would they recommend them. He gave me the phone number and I left a message. They called me back with in a couple of days with a quote and a date of installation. I had them put down 300 bales of the long needle. They did a great job in just a couple of hours, putting a good edge around all my beds and the pool. They cleaned the yard nicely and had it looking great. I paid for the straw and the guy came back to the door telling me I paid him to much. I said it was a little extra for a job well done. It's now fall, so looking to have them put down some fresh pinestraw out front again. I think a return customer says it all. read more

Here's my fair assessment: I called and booked them on the next day, they arrived 15 mins late, laid the pinestraw but tried to upsale me twice. I noticed 4 solar lights broken and laying under the pinestraw, so I called them and they denied breaking them; and also suggested that my regular landscaper did it. I am not happy about my solar lights but satisfied with the pinestraw. read more

They brought 125 bales of clean pine straw and carefully distributed it and made it look neat. They came when they said they would. Beware! The most unprofessional business I've ever seen! Ordered 125 bales of long needle. Showed up 2.5 hours late. 30 mins after discussing what I need done and how many bales in each area and they went went to work, I was told it would take twice as many bales to cover the area and it was laid very thin. I was confused when I used this company before a few months prior at our previous residence which the landscape was much larger and only took 125 bales laid very think and at $5.45 a bale. The guy installing it told me he's been turned away several times due to the size of the bales which were very small and change in management and said he would get the price reduced since they already laid 43 bales. I received a call 5 mins later from a very rude individual who said I should have never excepted the job in the first place. I told the crew to finish the one area and I'll pay for what pinestraw they used. The owner called the crew and told them to pick up the unused bales they dumped in the islands, collect payment and leave without cleaning their mess (this told to me by one of the crew) Thankfully they finished the area and cleaned up asking me not to tell the owner. Really who treats clients and their workers like that. Trust me spend the extra $2 a bale.. you get what you paid for. Plus they come on time, prepared (not knocking on your door for bottle water 15 mins into the job) and you'll get quality Wish I could attach pictures of the pinestraw to this review so you can see for yourself. read more
