My boyfriend and I were very happy with our meal at Red Panda! We split the chicken dumplings (absolutely delicious!), Lamb Biryani (a rice dish that was perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented) and buttered naan. I had the Rasmalai for dessert, something I had never even seen before. It was 4 spongey cheeseball cakes in a sweet syrup with macadamia nut shavings. I didn't love the texture of the cheeseball cakes (personal preference) but the syrup was yummy. All of the food surpassed our expectations. The environment was relaxed but classy. First time eating here today! It tasted amazing. The table ordered: a vegetable biryani and it had this lovely kick to it. Nothing that would be intense for people who haven't had it before. Malai chicken curry, that was so so good. Had such a lovely creaminess and aromatic taste. A medium spice would be good as I feel any hotter might overwhelm the flavors. A goat vindaloo, "The best vindaloo I've had in a very long time" as stated by my father. He got the hot level of spice and said it was perfect for him and that getting extra hot would be overwhelming and wouldn't compliment the flavors. The vegetable spring rolls, very good. Nice, light and crispy. The chutney and tamarind presented with it were very good as well. Finally the momos, the only thing we were disappointed about. Maybe it wasn't a good day for them for making momos. The wrapper was a somehow dry especially on top. No broth at all on the inside. Sadly this is what we were looking forward to the most as we don't see momos barely at all. Over all though, this was a really good experience and the service was amazing. Amazing food and wonderful staff!!! Once in a while a restaurant comes around that you hope and pray makes it past the cursed two year mark, Red Panda is one of them. The goat curry is phenomenal, and the chow mein is perfect. The dumplings are not my favorite but that is STRICTLY a personal preference. If you like your momos with a slightly thicker dough you will love them. One wonderful word of warning... I love spicy food, so if you ask for your curry hot prepare yourself mentally and physically cause they will bring the pain. read more

This is the place Burlington has needed for years! Indian food in BTV has been a little disappointing, and This place had one of the best meals I've had in a while. We went for lunch and it was quiet and the service was quick. We had an amazing Goat Curry, the Corn soup with chicken, Beef dumplings, naan, raita, and some Masala tea and a bomb mango lassi. The food had incredible flavor and the perfect amount of spice (we ordered medium spicy and it was hot). Their sauces were well made and fresh tasting as well. When our bus trip was delayed several hours, we took advantage of the time for a lunch special at Red Panda. We were happily surprised. My girlfriend and I each ordered a lunch special: I opted for goat curry and she chose a lamb dish. The food is some of the best I have ever tasted, easily the best in all of Burlington. It is flavourful, nutritious and the spices are sublime. A man with less self control would go broke making the Red Panda is a full-time meal service. The dishes are served in elegant bowls and plates. The servers were kind, speedy and charming, and the decor made the experience splendid. Finally a great Indian restaurant in Vermont! We went there for the first time for dinner on a Saturday night and were quite pleased. The service was very efficient and polite. We ordered two appetizers, two main courses, two varieties of Naan, and a mango lassi beverage. The only item we were a little disappointed with was the dumplings, and I'm honestly not sure if we just don't like that style of dumpling vs. could it have been better? Since this is a very new restaurant, I would encourage people to go check it out if you like this type of food so we can ensure its survival! Also because it is a new restaurant, a couple of suggestions for improvement for the owner(s): -Don't use styrofoam containers for leftovers. This is really bad for the environment and Vermont is a place where people care about that sort of thing. -Consider cutting down on the number of menu items (i.e. focus on the Indian/Himalayan/Nepalese items). I find that restaurants with a very large number of menu offerings rarely do all items well, and I personally think it's better to have fewer, but all stellar items than many options with some not-so-good. Looking forward to coming back again and trying some other things! read more

I love, love, love this place. Forever I've been wanting delicious Indian food in Burlington (their Nepali food is good too). They clearly are working to establish themselves in the business. But each time I've gone it, they've been friendly and accommodating. I saw the owner turn up all fo the lights for a few minutes because an older couple was having trouble reading their menu. The always smile and have thanked my group for coming. And the food, is fantastic! Lots of vegan options. Lots of variety. One person said the portions were small. I disagree. The food is absolutely incredible, but it took 90 minutes for us to get our food after we had ordered it. Everything we got was super flavorful and delicious. The naan was soft. The paneer was the perfect texture. It's clear that there aren't enough people working there, so the service is really really slow. Got two dishes, returned both and left. Chilli Chicken has tiny, stale, deep fried hard pieces in some insipid sweet sauce. The Curry goat turned out to be curry lamb which has a whole different games taste - and then we had a said said about what the animal really was. Apparently they had starved a sheep and sheared its wool off, leading to some confusion about its breed and the matter ultimately got sorted on my palate. To their credit, they owed up to the consistency in dishing out snafus, and did not bother my pocket. Went to Everest that easily hopped and skipped over the low bar set. read more

I'm no expert, but I've been to Nepal and India a few times, and the food at Red Panda was as good as any, and better than most, of what I had there.
