It was first time ever having Nepalese or Himalayan food and must say I was impressed. We wanted to try something new and some of the other people we had spoken to highly recommended the Sherpa Kitchen. It was a short walk from our hotel so we gave it a try. It's very small but when we arrived there wasn't a crowd at all. I think we came right before the lunch rush around 11:30 am. You seat yourself and there only appeared to be one waiter working. He brought out water in the cutest hand made copper cups. I chose to get the lunch special that came with deep fried onions, a homemade lemonade, and the lamb curry with rice. Everything was absolutely delicious and not too spicy. The lamb was very tender and didn't taste too gamey. Service was quick and the waiter was very friendly. The prices were reasonable as well. My lunch special was 16.99 and it was enough to fill me up. We also had a platter of the MoMo's. They are steamed dumplings filled with veggies, Chicken, or beef. The platter had 4 of each. I preferred the veggie ones. To me they had the most flavor.

This unassuming Nepalese restaurant has the best chicken tikka masala I've ever had in my whole life! Everything we ate was incredible, spiced, flavorful, delicate, and authentic. Service was fast and polite. It's a bit spartan in decor, but the prices were more than fair, the portions were large, and we couldn't stop raving about the meal after we left. If you like Indian and ethnic food, give this a try!

10/10! We went on a Saturday night and only had to wait a few minutes to get a table with no reservation. We got the lentil soup, momo variety, chicken curry and veggie chow mein. The highlights was the lentil soup and curry. The service was great and the staff was so nice. Our favorite place in Burlington!

The atmosphere is subpar with booth seating and fluorescent lighting. Plates came out with a sticky residue, though could be the finish as they were plastic. The bathroom was dirty, the floor had mud tracks all over which could be in part due to it being mud season, but we came exactly at 5pm which is opening of the restaurant. However, upon walking through the front door, the foods smell fragrant and amazing. Prices are very reasonable. Most dishes between $12-15. We had the combination dumplings, which were good, the vegetable stew, which as piping hot with good flavor (my favorite), the chicken tikka masala (not my favorite, it was sweet and tasted a little burnt) and the Sherpa bread, which was essentially a rolled steamed bun. Overall, the food was and service was very friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Maybe would've been better as take out??

My favorite restaurant in Burlington. As a fan of Indian food, I at first had trouble finding a satisfactory Indian-style (Nepalese) dinner in Burlington. I have visited many times and it is first on my list to bring people out. Some of my favorite dishes are the vegetable pakora, the beef thukpa, the samosas, and the beef momo. I always order the hot chai. Each dish has a very complex flavor profile, with spice mixes which differ from typical indian fare due to the nepalese origin. The pakora batter is delicious and perfectly compliments both of the chutneys which are beautifully striped across the dish. This dish has the best presentation, and I always order it when I bring people with me here. The samosas have a similar flavor profile, but are a more hearty app due to their potato filling. The beef thukpa comes in the most delicious beef broth I have ever experienced. Typically it is impossible to find beef dressed in indian spices, but this dish shows the strength of the combination. This dish combines the best parts of ramen, indian spices, and beef stew and is perfect to warm up on a rainy day. The broth makes it super filling, and I have a hard time ordering anything else anymore. The beef momos have a totally different vibe but are equally delicious. The soft cool dough brings some balance to the spicy meat inside. Like every dish, the flavor is complex and unique. The staff are always super helpful, and have treated me well both when I have come alone, and with others. The location is great and there is often street parking within a block. Super cool decor inside, and super reasonably priced.

I absolutely love the food and service at the Sherpa Kitchen. I ordered the chicken tiki masala lunch special and it was delicious. The Momo's are also very good, think of them as a Nepalese dumpling. Very affordable for Burlington and the surrounding area. I recommend doing some book shopping at the many local bookstores and finish with lunch at Sherpa Kitchen. You won't regret it.

We are four people. Two ordered the meat thali, I had the Sherpa lamb stew (comes with noodles which wasn't necessarily clear from the menu) and the other had beef noodle soup. We shared an order of mixed dumplings as a starter. The beef dumplings are by far the best. The veg were a bit lacking in flavor but all in all decent. We each had three and it was plenty. We also ordered one roti and one of the momo bread. Momo bread was like a bao hun but in cinnamon roll form with curry powder between the layers. I wouldn't order that again but for 4$ it was fun to try and a nice size. The roti was delicious. Everything on the thali was delicious. A few small things: rice was a bit mushy. Lassi was delicious. Like most Indian food, lots of sauce with little meat but everyone was full and they left half the rice. My stew was absolutely delicious. I don't love noodles so I left those alone but the broth and spinach and lamb and radish and carrots made up for that. It's not a thick stew. Everyone liked my broth better than the soup. The soup was decent but not as good as the stew particularly for me bc I don't like noodles very satisfied. 100$ before tip but for a family of four with what we ordered, worth it.

Wonderful experience! Some friends and I stopped in for lunch and enjoyed everything we ordered. The spiced tea was refreshing, my chicken tikka masala was perfect. Plus, our server was extremely tentative and friendly throughout our visit. I would definitely recommend Sherpa Kitchen!

Amazing food! I have never tried Nepali food before but everything we tried was so good! Vegetable soup, vegetable lo mien, vegetable momos. The iced tea was chai spiced and very tasty. The service was slow but the food was so good it didn't even bother us!

They also have some vegetables, frozen food, some cheap looking household deco stuff, and calling cards to India and Asian countries. The store is owned and operated by a Nepali family and is quite evident when you see them all hanging out behind the counter like it was their living room. The owner did ask me to let him know if I needed something in particular or if I couldn't find what I was looking for. The store didn't look particularly clean or organized which is typical of Asian stores in many places. I purchased some Indian chips/snacks to give them some business. The owner's wife was curious of my iPhone photo snaps both inside and outside the store and asked, "Why are you taking pictures?" I replied, "To help you guys grow your business by letting others know on social media ..........like Facebook, Twitter, Yelp.....!! I am a huge fan of momos and always looking for a chance to dine out…read more Friends love this place and we decided to go during the holidays and do a family style dinner. We ordered fried and steam momos to start, a combo of vegetable ones and chicken ones. Nepali bread (I forget the name, but was like fluffy pancakes), Butter Chicken, Bainghan Barta, Goat Curry, Saag Paneer and Nepali Chow Mein as suggested by the owner for the main dishes. The momos and chow mein were awesome. The other dishes were not as good as I've had elsewhere (including when I make at home). The goat was very tough and chewy, which was unfortunate, as goat can be tender and amazing. I would recommend coming for true nepali dishes only. Yes, Indian food is found in Nepal, but focus on the Nepali dishes and you can't go wrong. Also, it's a BYOB/W, so feel free to bring wine or beer (there's a store down the street if you forget.

Not only is the food delicious with large servings, but the folks at the restaurant are extremely nice (that alone makes me want to keep going back!). I usually opt for saag paneer, paratha, and steamed veggie momos. The saag paneer is creamy with lots of rice, the paratha buttery and flavorful, and the momos (I think they come with 8 or 10? it's a lot!) have a nice, spicy sauce to accompany. This amount of food usually lasts me at least 3 meals, and tastes just as delicious over the next day or so as I indulge. I haven't been able to eat in yet (COVID :)) but the takeout is usually ready within 30-40 minutes. They do get busy, so just call ahead with plenty of time - and when you're in there waiting, they'll make sure to update you and get your food ready as soon as they can.
