We ordered a lot of food from Mountain Valley Restaurant. We came here this week since our kids are on school vacation, and we decided to stay in Burlington, Vermont. This eatery was located right around the corner from where we were staying. The food and service were fabulous! We ordered: Daal makhani Chicken tikka (dry) Coconut chicken curry Malai kofta curry Cauliflower gobi Manchurian Kheer (5 stars!!) Chicken momos Kaichi chicken Butter naan Garlic naan Everything was delicious. The coconut chicken curry was underwhelming and had a similar taste to the malai kofta curry. The chicken momos were phenomenal. The wrapper was thin and the filling was juicy and flavorful! I was a big fan of the kheer since it was a combination of rice and tapioca balls in a milk pudding! So delicious! The staff were very friendly and explained dishes to us if we had questions. They gave us pricing over the phone and honored the online ordering discount over the phone too! This little hole-in-the-wall spot here in Winooski is definitely packed with a ton of flavors. The food is made fresh and so good! Momos are my favorite. My son and I came to the restaurant late, but the owner kept the place open for us fed us spectacularly with a wonderful lamb biryani, chicken Sakuwa, masala Chiya, garlic naan, mango lassi, and mango chutney where the best dishes we have ever eaten. And on a cold evening in Shelburne the all-in-one owner, waiter, and chef was also the best of hosts. But the food!!! especially a lamb biryani was just out of this world, and also for those who cannot take the spicy nature of Nepali food he made it just right for me which means mild and perfect for my son which means spicy as you can make it! I cannot recommend this place high enough. Whether you're in Shelburne or you're in Burlington and want an extra 10 minute ride--you do, as its worth it! Also ambiance is homie comfortable. Best little hole in the wall, with delicious food. Popped in on my lunch break and devoured a delicious Mango Lassi. It was vibrant, smooth, and extremely flavorful. Also ordered the butter chicken and butter naan, which was extremely flavorful and delicious. The butter chicken does come with rice, which I believe might've been jasmine rice. Will definitely be eating here again, especially when the staff is so helpful and kind! read more

Came here while on vacation and the food was amazing. The food is made fresh to order which is a plus. I ordered vegan friendly options of Samosa and Malai Kofta. It's a small but very busy place. Been here multiple times now! Authentic Napali food in the old pho dang spot. Food is amazing they're open pretty late and on mondays which is great. I chose asap and the food was ready at the estimated time. Chicken Tikka Masala is my go-to dish for comparing restaurants. It was delicious! You have an option of mild, medium, or hot. Not knowing their definition of hot, I went with mild. It was spicy at all, next time I will try medium. The sauce was thick & rich. I could've had just the sauce and rice, it was so good. Coconut Lamb Curry - the lamb was tender, and the sauce was wonderful. Garlic Naan & Onion Kulcha - both were good, but probably prefer the garlic naan. I don't know if there has been a change of ownership or what's going on, but I was so disappointed getting takeout. They were out of chicken kadai, the dish I ended up ordering was barely spicy, and they don't serve their fabulous naan anymore (it was literally incredible)! This was the best spot in Vermont for Indian food... now, not so much. read more

OH MY GOD! BEST Nepali food I've had in chittenden county. EVERYTHING is seasoned to perfection and spot on. Last night my boyfriend and I got paneer tikka masala, chicken tikka masala and beef momo. The paneer was so squeaky and the sauce was rich and flavorful. The chicken had the smoky taste of the tandoori oven, and the momo was excellent. Had an amazing dinner here! Two of us shared Samosa Chaat app, Naan, Lamb Vindaloo, Chicken Korma (and brought home at least half). Medium spice on all was zingy without taking over. Great flavor and super service in a small store front with 8-10 tables. Lots of takeout came through as we ate. We heard this was good and it didn't disappoint. We stumbled across this very small restaurant when a nearby one was closed. It's a bit hidden in that the sign isn't easily read in the dark and the interior with just a few tables is plain though warmly welcoming. And what a wonderful experience! As others have written, flavorful delicious food with good service and very fair prices. We're from out of town and chose to eat here several times during our stay. This was possibly the best food we've ever eaten at a restaurant. It's a small dining area, but there were tons of takeout orders picked up during our visit. The service was top notch, and the food was absolutely amazing. We had the potato cheese naan, cheese naan, butter chicken (medium), goat coconut curry (mild). Failed to take pics... I love spice and probably would have upped the butter chicken to spicy. The hubby does not like it spicy, so he loved the curry just as it was. I actually thought the curry was a bit spicier than the butter chicken, so it may be the spices specific to the dish that make a difference. Absolutely the best Indian food I've had in a long, long time. The flavors were divine and the service excellent. This is a small place with only 4 tables and a large menu.
