We had a delightful Date Night last night at Red Lobster! We started the evening by sharing a very reasonably priced, large happy hour, and on the rocks strawberry margarita drink. And it was perfect as we ate our warm and crispy Red Lobster specialty biscuits. Thanks to our awesome and very knowledgeable server, Fabian, for professionally assisting us in selecting the perfect seafood boil with just the right seafood items we both preferred; cooked with delicious garlic pieces sautéed in butter and mixed with a lightly spiced seasoning. Also included in the seafood boil were delicious sweet corn on the cob and small red potatoes. Plus more warm and crispy biscuits. So Thank You! On my daughter's 18th birthday, my husband and I took our daughter to her favorite restaurant, Red Lobster. My husband wanted to surprise our daughter with a cash envelope and placed it in his back pocket. As he bent on one knee to take a selfie with the live lobster tank, the envelope slipped out of his pocket. We walked to our table and when my husband wanted to surprise our daughter, he couldn't find the envelope anywhere. He frantically looked under the table, restroom, and our vehicle. Disappointingly, he broke the news to our daughter what he had planned to give her. Our waiter, Ruben, asked if he could help and my husband told him that he lost an envelope that he was going to give our daughter and said he doubted anyone would turn it in because it had money. Ruben said he'd help look for it in the restroom. Then, the manager, Milagros, came and asked us if she could help, my husband told her he lost an envelope. She asked him to describe it. Then, as true miracle to her name, she said she found an envelope but wanted us to describe it first. She went to her office and returned with the envelope for our daughter. My husband felt extremely blessed to see that there are still good people out there who do the right thing. Needless to say, we are extremely fortunate to have chosen Red Lobster to celebrate our daughter's 18th birthday. Over priced, slow service, bland tasting food. Restaurant itself seemed pretty clean. We waited almost 10 minutes just to get acknowledge by waiter. He ended up placing in an appetizer that we didn't ask for. We went in for lunch and ended up with an $80+ check. No idea how.. their menu is overwhelming and in my opinion this place is over priced. Look, I'm from coastal New England, and I'm pretty stuck up about seafood I was a commercial fisherman for years. First of all the restaurants got some pictures of Downeast lobster boats so already I felt at home. I had muscles. then I had fish and chips and if I had known there was a tank I might've had a lobster. Let me tell you, the whole thing was delicious! I've always heard bad things about red lobster, but this place is on my list now. The fish and chips were damn good and I enjoyed myself. I got an alert on my Red Lobster app about the endless shrimp. We got there at 8 pm. We placed our drink order, an appetizer and our main dish order. 3 of them. They brought out the bread and the pieces have gotten way smaller. Then at 8:15 they brought out our appetizer. Crabby French fries. So we finish our bread and appetizer and our waitress told us our food order would be out shortly. At 847 we decided to go ask where our food was. The manager told us they had a large order in the other side of the restaurant and it had the kitchen backed up. The whole reason was for the endless shrimp. If we would've stayed we would've only got one order of shrimp in and they would've probably made us wait another 45-50 min for our next order of "endless shrimp ". I'm addition, they closed at 9. As the manager told us about the large party I looked over to that side of the restaurant and it only looked like 6-8 people. That's not large enough to stop our order from coming out. I can only assume they do this on purpose to only have us wait for another order of shrimp so we do t eat as much shrimp. We won't be back in a very long time. The service has really dropped significantly. We can't afford to go eat there and spend over $100 to get the service we got tonight. read more

We came here for lunch, a few things went wrong but fortunately our waitress was very good at her job. She fixed drinks that were wrong or weren't made well, example, they make fresh lemonade.. but it was served warm, not room temp... it was actually warm because they need it warm to dissolve sugar, so she brought extra cups of ice. Other things she had to fix were some of our sides with our entree's were wrong. After I said something, the waitress said "oh yea I saw that, I'll get your side" it would be nice if she had fixed it before I said something, it kinda feels like a 'maybe they won't notice' atmosphere. This was definitely a sign of things to come. My group was seated for a lunch visit this week on Wednesday 7/29. The server was very bland and no personality at all. We placed our drink orders which two of us ordered a sprite and diet soda. The sodas were HORRID! They tasted like lemon cleaning solution was mixed with them. The server finally returned and we told him. He returned telling us they are out of CO2. The entire place is out of CO2??? In addition the soda had carbonation that was not the taste we had something else was going on. So our only option now was water or tea. We took the water option. The water must have been unfiltered tap water. It tasted horrible like the metal piping. So disgusting!!! The appetizer was the stuffed mushrooms which was made correctly and tasted fine. (well until you drink the metallic water lol) The salads continued this journey through horror. Two of us ordered Cesar salads. They did not put anywhere near enough dressing on it. So we asked for additional dressing. When it arrived there was weird flaky stuff floating on the top. We sent it back and did not finish the salads. The lunch meals came out and they seemed to be cooked ok. The Parmesan tilapia was under seasoned and the green beans needed salt. My peers said their means were mediocre at best. We were completely shocked as well after telling the server was aware of all the issues with our meal no manager every came by to talk with us. No one ever apologized for the poor food quality or issues with the drinks. Management clearly is not engaged here or the staff is very poorly trained then again could be both. Had we not been rush to catch a flight we would have left at the start of the horror show. However we kept hoping it would get better and never did. I highly recommend going somewhere else for awhile until they figure things out here. Hope they improve as I am a fan of Red Lobster in general. read more

Recent visit reinforced our support for Red Lobster in Brownsville.. Been going at least yearly for over 20 years and only ever had one issue prior to most recent visit, however although major misfires occurred pertaining to our order, the server and manager made it right and we will definitely be returning. As a regular restaurant patron, I believe that it is important to bear in mind that while issues can take place, the efforts of the people that operate the establishment make all the difference - and despite a less-than optimal execution of the entrees, the fact that we were taken care of in such a compensatory way was, in my mind, above and beyond the requirements of the situation. Kudos to Red Lobster for knowing their business and taking care of us. We ended up having a very nice time due specifically to their positive actions.. read more

I don't know why, because there are many reasons why a fresh lobster still can taste not very well. The service was friendly! Today was dinner with my roomate and I decided on Red Lobster in Brownsville. Unfortunately the side we like sitting on was closed so we decided to sit at the bar. We were greeted by Christian and he was very friendly and polite. As he was taking our order he acknowledged both of us and was very attentive to how we wanted our salads. Got it right the first time. We never had to ask for refills and our food came out in a timely manner. After bringing us some condiments, we dug right in and let me say, the food was great and to my liking. The steak was perfect and my lobster topping mashed potato was on point. I'll admit I was a little skeptical when we were greeted by a host that looked like a freakin' model, who probably has every right to be a little snobby, that the Red Lobster restaurant days I am used to were over: they're now high-class places to eat that I felt way under-dressed in a red polo t-shirt. Alas, when she seated us (in our requested booth-style seating), it wasn't long until we were greeted by a wonderful waitress (Maria)! To sum up the bonus points for this particular waitress in this particular Red Lobster restaurant: 1. When I asked for filtered water, she asked me if I wanted a lemon (yes, that is great!). 2. She was friendly and explained the fresh catch of the day in a way that I was almost tempted to get it, even though I already had an idea of what I wanted. 3. She was conversational about the history of the building (okay, most people could care less, but, I *thought* the architecture was way different!)...ends up this was the last Red Lobster to get a much-needed face-lift and, I learned from her, there will be an official Grand Opening later this month (that she invited us to). I ordered the raspberry smoothie (with a super yummy strawberry on top), scallops & clam strips, with the Lobster mashed potatoes (i didn't really like the lobster on top...it was kinda "fishy" tasting...i thought they stirred them in with the potatoes last time?), and *drum roll* the coleslaw. You'd think coleslaw would be the boring, same old coleslaw they serve everywhere else, right? WRONG!!! this stuff looks...and TASTES...like Home MADE coleslaw. ...Enough about the coleslaw, everyone knows Red Lobster is famous for their cheesy biscuits. I don't know if it's because I've been having too much garlic in my diet lately, but, these weren't as flavorful as the biscuits I'm used to Red Lobster having. Oh well, I'm totally cool with that because if they were as super-addictive as they used to be, I would've ate more of them... and we all know eating too many carbs is bad. Horrible. We used to come often to Red Lobster, but ever since the new manger the food has been getting worse and worse. We ordered the lobster and seafood artichoke dip and it was horrendous...it ruined my appetite. It was watery and tasted bad. The shrimp linguini alfredo was watery... a pasta is supposed to be creamy not watery. The steak we ordered was just bland and not seasoned... it was not even medium rare it was fully cooked. Worst sea food ever. My husband and I love sea food, and thought to give this place a chance. Paid $80 for a meal that was incomplete. Got an appetizer of stuffed mushrooms $9 the cook cut up the mushrooms in half and stuffed them. Ordered a $30 plate which turned out to be crappy and incomplete. Waiter came over apologizing because the cook forgot to put the main sauce on the meal. Not only that, on the description it said that the salmon, lobster, and shrimp would be in top of potatoes. Damn plate only came with 3 mini potatoes. Salmon was not even cooked properly. My husband's meal was also $30 and they managed to mess his up too. I have always had a good perception of this business along with any of the Darden Inc restaurants (even though they separated) I feel like the quality of the food is going down hill to try and find short cuts of cooking food for customers and so on and so forth. The food is still rather tasty but it's still rather overpriced for what you get. The servers are about either good or inattentive and lack effort. It's my first time going to Red Lobster and it will be the last one. Worst customer service I ever had. Paid with a 3 gift cards (obviously this is why I had to go). After I left the place the manager went to my cars saying that one giftcard was locked. He made me wait for 20 minutes and the problem was that they never swipe the card. Took my wife and two daughters to Red Lobster in Brownsville at 5:15pm on Saturday . We were promptly seated and then waited as we watched 2 staff members sweep the same area of the floor, one waitstaff carrying a tray of drinks out of the kitchen followed by another waitstaff and then both going back in to kitchen area without delivering the drinks. 4 more staff walked by the table in a group apparently for someones birthday. 10 minutes and no one took drink orders or acknowledge our presence. Never experienced this lack of service at this restaurant before and do not expect to return for another experience either. We are enjoying a nice dinner at another restaurant. read more
