Monica is so sweet and healing, she welcomed us in with such positive vibes so I had to check it out if it was the real deal.

Book Tony. That's it. That's all. That's the review!!!…read more I typically visit every three months for an 80-minute hot stone massage and was previously seeing Gabe (unfortunately, he's no longer with Woodhouse). Gabe was fantastic--he always listened to my needs and paid extra attention to the areas that needed it most. This time, I was paired with Tony and OMG--he was amazing! You know a massage is good when you catch yourself snoring? That was me, LOL. Tony provided the perfect amount of pressure and, like Gabe, really listened to my concerns and focused on the areas I needed most. I left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. Highly recommend!

I visited Woodhouse Spa Walnut Creek on Sunday, July 19, with a friend. I had a facial, and my…read morefriend had a massage that I had purchased as a birthday gift using an online gift card that I purchased in October of last year. Both the facial and the massage were enjoyable, and we were happy with the services we received. Unfortunately, the experience at the front desk completely overshadowed our visit. When we checked out, my friend was told she owed the full amount for her massage. I explained that I had purchased the online gift card in October of last year. The front desk immediately asked for the confirmation email. I explained that the purchase had been made months earlier, I no longer had the email readily available, and that when I called before our appointment, I had been told we did not need to bring the confirmation because they would be able to look it up. Instead of trying to help, I was told that wasn't how they handled gift cards and that they had no way to look it up. Rather than feeling supported, the interaction became unnecessarily uncomfortable and felt more like I was being questioned than assisted. The staff came across as rude, disorganized, and unprofessional, showing very little interest in finding a solution. Ironically, after insisting they couldn't look up the gift card, they eventually searched under my name, even though the gift card was for my friend, and found it. Then, after processing everything, they initially told my friend she still owed $100. When I said I would pay it, they responded, "Oh, sorry, correction, you actually have a $100 credit." That level of confusion only reinforced how disorganized the checkout process was. When it came time to pay for my facial, I was then asked, "Would you like to just do the customary 20%?" Rather than presenting tipping options or allowing me to decide for myself, the question felt presumptive and added to the uncomfortable experience. To top it all off, immediately after everything we had just gone through, we were asked if we'd like to rebook another massage. After the experience we had at the front desk, it felt completely tone deaf. There was no genuine apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience. The treatments themselves were good, but customer service is an important part of the overall spa experience. Unfortunately, the disorganized, dismissive, and unprofessional interactions at the front desk overshadowed what should have been a relaxing day. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because the quality of customer service did not reflect the quality of the spa treatments.

I was a member at the Danville location for two years and paid in over $2,038.80, always on time…read more When I signed up I was told my monthly credits would never expire and cost nothing extra to use later that promise is the only reason I kept the membership through a long stretch when I wasn't visiting. The therapists are genuinely good and the front desk that day was friendly, so my one star is entirely about the billing and ownership. I came back recently for a single massage and at checkout was charged two prepaid credits ($169.90) for a service that costs $159.95 more than a walk-in pays because I'm "no longer a member." When I asked whether the extra could go to the therapist as a tip, I was told "NO", I was asked to "forfeit it to the business", I find it to be very wrong. When I questioned any of it, the owner became hostile and accused me of being rude. I was told my last remaining credit will be charged extra in the future, even though they have collected the money in advance. Two years of watching constant staff turnover, therapists, and now I understand why. Being asked to forfeit money I prepaid, pay more than a non-member, and denied the ability to reward the therapist, and wrongfully be accused right after a massage that's supposed to relax you, was the last straw. I DO NOT recommended.

I handed her my card, and she informed me of a $5 credit card fee. I was okay with this until she asked for a tip before providing the service. This made me uncomfortable, so I told her I would tip after the service. She then led me to a room, saying she would need another 10 minutes for some reason. I ended up waiting for 30 minutes before she finally started. While waiting, I noticed several signs stating they didn't provide sexual services and that police could inspect the rooms at any time, which gave me really weird vibes. When the masseuse finally began, her technique involved pinching and a weird rapid pressing motion that was just awful. The last 20 minutes of the massage was low effort. I was quite annoyed by the end of it and wanted to be over with it. Despite the poor experience, I still opted to give her a 20% tip and she had the audacity to be upset with the amount and asked for more. I was shocked but stood firm and refused to give more despite her trying to "negotiate" her tip multiple times. She finally processed the tip amount I had decided, and I left. Overall, it was a terrible experience, and I would not recommend this place.

I enjoyed the relaxation lounge where they had water, tea, nuts and books to unwind after your massage. My massage therapist was excellent. One thing I would change about the facial is the addition of more skincare products and tips. Everything with the facial just felt sort of like a massage, there was no description of what was being used and not much was suggested. I also didn't love the group setting of the relaxation room, when I think of the spa I think "peace and quiet" and while it was peaceful, it wasn't very quiet considering all the interactions in the locker and relaxation room.

The front desk staff was very helpful -- walking me through the consent forms, showing me the changing area, and helping me set the password for my locker. After changing, you're given a robe and slippers. The robe is incredibly soft and almost weighted, which added to the comfort. It even has pockets for your jewelry or glasses. Phones are not allowed in the treatment area, and no video/photo is permitted past the changing room, which I appreciated (and respected) for privacy. The facial itself was extremely relaxing. The music was at the perfect volume, and the room lighting was dim without being too dark -- just enough to enhance the experience. The service included a hand and arm massage with hot stones and warm compresses, which was such a nice touch. One minute I was getting a scrub, and the next I was waking up -- it was that relaxing. They also have a retail area at the front where you can purchase the products used during your service. Overall, a wonderful first spa experience. I'm already looking forward to booking my second facial and trying other services they offer. 100% would recommend

However , they expect me to " gift my gift cards" to my family and friends -just a matter of time for those that go there to stop going there! Save your money and go elsewhere !! If this company can't take a 3 start to improve their customer service with their patrons don't waste your time !! I have seen other posts from other companies with negative or constructive feedback where the customer is using explicit language, however, the company acknowledges the feedback and learns to take it in , they don't bully people over yelp or personal emails . No wonder they have a huge turnover!! Look at who's running the place !

Before coming to Changes I'd never experienced such a relaxing and luxurious pedicure and I basically got hooked. No other pedi service compares to lounging in a recliner for a pedicure and being pampered from start to finish. I also love that they use fresh, individual foot bowls for the pre- pedicure soak instead of the yucky foot whirlpools found in the typical nail salon. Everything about this service is elevated. Shoutout to my girl, Vivian! I also began doing gel builder manicures with Nellis last summer and wow are they fantastic! I had a really hard time growing my nails out and keeping them long without breaking one and having to start over. Gel builder allows me to grow health nails, strengthening them so they don't break. I'm pretty hooked on this too, but for someone not wanting to commit to regular service this is a great option because removal doesn't ruin your natural nail. There's also no smell, unlike acrylics, so you don't feel like you're inhaling chemicals through your service. Highly recommend! So great that Changes is staying current with trends and offering new things. They have a relaxation room you can enjoy before and after services. They also offer facials, massage and hair services. Pay parking across the street, behind the salon and kitty corner at the library.

Two things that I can't ignore and hope management reads this. 1. There is room for improvement on the locker room getting so crowded. 2. Do NOT trust the sandals. They are plastic and incredibly slippery when wet. Since they are not sized to the individual, it's dangerous. I slipped out of my sandals and fell down the stairs in the large Russian Sauna. This resulted in multiple abrasions and a large laceration on my forearm and I actually got stitches for the first time. Sandals have to be fixed, there's stairs everywhere here. The people in the sauna were super nice and helped me, luckily, I'm pretty fit, but it could've been really really bad. Credit to the staff for not charging me for my time there, honestly, I would've rather paid and left uninjured.
