Way WAY upmarket Vietnamese food. Five stars for atmosphere and chic and élan and some other words that mean stylish that dont spring to mind. Food is pretty much the same as Phamish but with some nice additions. I had the Gai Du Du which was exactly like Phamish's papaya salad but twice the price. I don't mind because the pork was smoky and full of flavour and the chilli vinegar dressing was white hot and sweet and perfect. I didn't see any of the Nguyen clan or any chefs who have married into the Nguyen clan so I assume they have let someone else into the family's secret recipe club? A truly beautiful place and the food is fantastic - like I knew it would be!

Definitely lived up to its reputation and fulfilled my Vietnamese cuisine expectations. I loved the cheery, fusion-filled interior (a mix of modern and classic), and the golden-red colour scheme! The food was exquisite - every dish was so unique but flavoursome! And the service was fantastic as well!

I was so happy to be able to eat at one of Luke Nguyen's restaurants.

I shed tears, actual tears, tears of love lost, when the original District 01 off Oxford St shut…read moredown earlier this year. Sydney had lost one of her raddest venues and a place renowned for putting on ace performances, plays, sales, exhibitions and just about anything else you can think of. It was making way for a bakery. Now, I'm all for baked goods, but Sydney can't afford to lose little gems like this that add something irreplaceable to the fabric of this damned fine city. Huzzah, then, that District 01 has risen - phoenix-like! - from the ashes of corporate suckitude and is reincarnated in Randle Lane, a small, clean alleyway near Central Station and the place is cooler than ever. HUZZAH I SAY. I attended the relaunch party last night and while there were canapes and live tunes and drinks what I really got excited about was the venue: a white-walled space ready to be transformed into whatever, whenever. A blank canvas waiting for imagination to recreate it into anything the user desires. Light globes hang low from the ceiling. Entry is up the stairs of a repurposed loading dock. And . . . there's just something about partying in a secret alleyway that makes me feel cooler than I probably (er, actually) am.

This is definitely one of those places you've stumbled upon by accident and you want to keep it a…read moresecret. Down a little alleyway off a quiet street, there's a set of door with a sign on them that reads "District 01". Inside is a converted warehouse with white floors, walls and ceiling and a few stacks of white pallets. I was here for a Yelp event so the projector was beaming District 01 offers with intermittent Yelp logos. The night was fairly warm and humid but the venue remained cool enough even though it was packed with people. This is defo worth keeping in mind if you're an event coordinator/PR/marketing peep looking for cool, new venues for events.

Let's say that gaining entry can be a bit difficult. Somehow I first ended up in a food court…read morebefore I found some elevator hidden in a corner that got me to the entrance for the actual Eye Tower. I stood in line for the kiosk to purchase a ticket, but the folks in front of me had some difficulties with it and so an attendant came to help guide them through the process. Apparently I look old and confused because when it was my turn he just ask me how many and type of visit and before I knew it he handed me a senior discount ticket. Wasn't sure if I should be glad or insulted. I made my way up to the top on a rickety small elevator and arrived safely.. had my doubts there for a minute. Once you step out of the elevator the world opens up again. The view is spectacular and you can walk around the entire perimeter and view 360 degrees of Sydney. And may I say the city is huge. I delighted in seeing an actual working mailbox there which is marked the highest mailbox in Sydney, well yeah... Of course I bought the picture package, because who doesn't need silly commemorative pictures of oneself with Koalas, in a kangaroo pouch or atop of a map of Australia. Also I must say that the gift shop here was able to fill all my souvenir needs easily. It is extensive and reasonably priced too.

We visited the Sydney Tower Eye tonight from 7-8pm, hoping to catch sunset (7:41pm), but…read moreunfortunately it was a big disappointment. The interactive touch screens were confusing and not very helpful, and the binocular viewers were basically useless. The biggest issue, though, was the dirty windows, and tons of lights in the background which made it difficult to take any decent photos. You can barely see the Harbour Bridge or Opera House as they are obstructed. After doing the Sydney BridgeClimb, this experience felt like a complete waste of money in comparison. There were tables available to sit at, but both staff and guests seemed unwilling to clean them, which added to the overall lackluster experience.
