My review is based off of multiple visits beginning May 2015 and ending October 2015.
My first visit in May was to have her onsite braider at the time do Senegalese twists. Setting up my appointment was easy and I was even given a reminder via text. The cost of my twists was a bit better in price than what I had paid for at another shop a year prior and my braids looked great. However, either the size of my twists (medium in size) or the type of hair used on my natural hair (even though I used Kanekelon expression the first time I had twists the year before and they looked great and kept up well) was not good for a long lasting look. I had twists coming out within days of me getting them done and by a week out my entire back was extremely loose. I explained this to the owner, Raveece, and she had me reschedule to have them redone at no cost to me. So by two weeks I had them redone with Marley hair. The Marley hair was a bit better but as time went on I realized I didn't like it with the Marley hair. I couldn't wear my braids down because the ends looked extremely rough and scratchy and the braider hadn't kept the braids consistent in size. So I kept it in a bun.
Overall, the work was good and Raveece was great in getting everything straightened out about my first set of braids. Also, it kept me from having to do my hair while I was at home dealing with a new baby. But, I didn't think I would have my hair braided there again until the last time I went to the salon. I noticed she had a new braider and the girl was doing an awesome job on the client. Next time I get twists, I am thinking to have her new braider do them.
The third time I went to the salon was to have the owner Raveece do a makeup trial for my wedding. She listened to everything I said about how I wanted to look and how I didn't want the makeup to look heavy. She made a look for both me and my girls (only the maid of honor was present) that we both thought would look great with the colors of my wedding. I was very pleased with the look and how she explained out the full process of what she would do the actual day of the wedding so there wouldn't be any surprises.
The fourth time was my wedding hair appointment. Over the months previous, Raveece and I had settled upon the style I planned to wear for my upcoming wedding. All I can say is that the actual thing was better than I could have imagined. She did a wonderful job on my hair and the style seemed to have been made for my bridal side comb piece that I wore for my big day. She worked my tightly coiled natural hair into a thing a sleek beauty. I couldn't believe how easy she made it look blowing out my hair for the style. I plan to go back to her for a blowout and style. I got to see if my hair will last straight as long as I think it will if she does it LOL!!!
My last interaction with Raveece and her Salon was in October 2015. She and her assistant makeup artist came to the hotel to do the makeup of me and my 5 bridesmaids, plus a touch up of my hair to bring my wedding look to completion. Can I just say that she and her assistant slayed me and my girls!! You couldn't tell me one bad thing about my look and if you did....you could kick rocks lol!! My bridesmaids felt the same. I know I felt like million bucks and it was all thanks to her!
Given all this, I definitely say hit up Red Label Salon and products. Raveece will make sure you have quality work done and she will direct you to the best person at her shop to help with your needs. If any issues she is quick to resolve them. Also, the pricing is comparable to many other shops. I definitely will be back soon!
Thanks Raveece!! read more
