The little shop in the main building check in area was very cute and had a lot of fun things to look at and buy! We stayed one night in a tent camp spot. There are restrooms attached to the main building with showers, toilets, and sink/mirrors. There's also a dish washing space for longer stays. The camp site had decent shade and grass area to put your tent on. There were a couple picnic tables for use as well. There are free-roaming peacocks that are beautiful but are definitely loud in the morning! We went in July which is really hot for the hot springs, but it was nice since it wasn't busy! We had our soak time from 8-10pm which was great to view the sunset and soak while the air cooled off. It's such a unique hot spring location with bathtubs and larger pools. The owner walked around and made sure everyone was comfortable and was super friendly. I liked that they weren't sulfur hot springs so you didn't stink after! The negative reviews here seem like they didn't read the website that explained what to expect. I appreciate the websites honesty in keeping this location rustic and authentic, while acknowledging there are things they could improve. Knowing you're not going to a five-star location would be beneficial. The small business aspect played a huge role, in having great hospitality and a very friendly atmosphere. We were literally 20 minutes away from our destination to this RV park when we were involved in a terrible wreck. When my son called to cancel the reservation, the young man on the phone was SO gracious and kind, he literally offered to come help us. Unfortunately, we were past the point of being helped as the authorities, other passers by and ambulance were already there. That left such an impression and we want to return, as guests, and experience the place and areas surrounding it. Need to find and replace our rig first, this may take a few years.... When we pulled in yesterday Ali (Owner) & Dan were on the roof installing this awesomely & artfully designed "Ace's Place" sign. This cafe is next door We proceeded to have a fabulous dinner before heading off to the priceless Red Hill Hot Springs up the street. Our bodies fell into a sweet slumber in comfy bed at the adjacent sweet & historic Monroe Inn! I love Ali's touch, she has thoughtfully remodeled this Inn and added such personal & artistic flair throughout the Inn & Cafe. Ali remembered I wasn't fond of lights at night & unplugged the ones in backyard. Dan is the man who seems to excel at everything including cooking! The Inn was exactly what we were looking for to recharge and reconnect outside of the big city. The Innkeeper is so wonderful and hospitable, we loved all of the little touches-everywhere from the garden to the shower curtain. There is also a stellar little diner attached to the Inn. We found the chef to be extremely passionate about his cooking and the labor of love that is the Monroe Inn. It seemed like everyone we encountered was passionate about the Inn and the beautiful little town. So many people were working together to make the Inn and its diner just the most relaxing, beautiful, and enjoyable experience. We fell in love with this sleepy little town and can't wait to go back.

We stayed at Capitol Reef Resort and had a really good experience overall, with a few surprises…read moremixed in. We got there right at our 4 pm check in time and our Conestoga wagon was ready. I figured this was probably my one chance in life to sleep in a wagon, and it had plenty of room for the four of us. The setup is really cool. All the wagons are arranged around a huge fire pit and they look awesome in person. For pricing, our first night in the wagon came out to 319 dollars plus tax. With sales tax and lodging tax, the total for that night was 361.17. We had already paid that as a deposit, so it was covered. The bathrooms are not attached to the wagons, but you get your own private bathroom with a shower and you access it with a key card. The wagon itself has a front door that uses an actual key, which adds to the whole experience. We grabbed dinner, came back, and had a great time at the fire pit while the girls roasted s'mores. Everything felt perfect. We went to bed around ten. Then the wind showed up. At about 2 am I woke up to the sound of the wind hitting the canvas. It was loud. Way louder than I expected. The girls slept right through it, but my wife and I were basically awake for the rest of the night. The funny part is that when I walked to the bathroom at 4 am, it was not even windy outside. The canvas just catches whatever breeze there is and makes it sound like a storm. By six we gave up and got up for the day. The next morning I went to the front desk to see if we could switch rooms. The staff was super helpful and understanding. For an extra 90.58 we upgraded to a cabin and it was absolutely worth it. The cabin was awesome. It had a loft, a big main bedroom with a king bed, four bunk beds, a full size fridge, a microwave, and a two burner stove. The bathroom had a tub, shower, toilet, and sink. It was comfortable, clean, and honestly felt like a small house. After spending the day hiking around Capitol Reef, coming back to that cabin felt amazing. Our second night in the cabin was 399 dollars plus tax. With sales tax and lodging tax, that night came out to 451.74. Between the wagon night, the cabin night, and the upgrade charge, the total for the stay was 718.01 before taxes and 812.92 after taxes, which we had already paid. The front desk staff deserves credit. They were friendly, patient, and gave great tips for food and even where I could charge my car. Bottom line. The wagons are a fun and unique experience, but if you are a light sleeper, the wind might get you. The cabins are fantastic and worth the upgrade. The staff is great and the location is perfect for exploring Capitol Reef. I would stay here again, but next time I am booking the cabin from the start.

My room was not ready, so I was unable to check in until after 5:00 p.m. More troubling was the consistently rude and unhelpful attitude of the staff. The resort's restaurant was also very disappointing. Rim Rock, directly across the street, offers a far better dining experience. The final problem occurred after checkout. A package had arrived for me the previous day, but the staff neither notified me nor gave it to me when I checked out. They called only after I had reached Moab. When I called to arrange for the package to be returned, the person identified as the supervisor hung up on me. An average property can be forgiven; rude and careless service cannot. I recommend choosing another place to stay.

Has every amenity you could think of or need. Full hookups, back in or pull through Rc sites, cabins or tent sites. Grassy areas with picnic table and some with fire rings. ATV access to Piute trails from the campground. Pool and hot tub. Emmaculate restrooms with flush toilets and separate hot showers. Game room with air hockey and foosball (not the best) and they are building a playground for kids. We are definitely going to be returning!

The staff at check-in, even late at night, are extremely friendly, price is decent, parking good, and overall area and motel are great. They even have a dog bed in the pet friendly rooms. Additionally, there is a middle and elementry school a few blocks away where you can walk your dogs. Overall, we had a great experience and stay here, and if you need somewhere nice to stay in this area, definitely stay here.

Came here with some family members to go Tubing. Pretty laid back company that was ran by younger…read morekids. They do a pretty good job with taking care of customers. They supply life jackets and a ride up river for $18 a head. Once in the river you float about an hour & half back to their base. This time of year the river is basically a shallow canal. They call it the Lazy River Float and that's what you get. Fun for younger members and relaxing for the rest. We had a good time and we had about 25 others that seemed to echo our experience too. Tubes & Life Jackets were in good condition. They have a raft trip that goes also. Zip line & endurance course too. You can rent UTV's too.

She was good to give us directions and she she even inflated a tube by mouth so my wife could have the tube she wanted. The trip was fun and it was very reasonable price. Next time we may do the whitewater rafting. If you are in central Utah and need an activity look up Big Rock Adventures. 10 out of 10 recommend
