They said that they couldn't take a credit card and would only accept Zelle, but charged me the credit card price which is $20 more per hour. The owner tried to say that there's some sort of fees, but there are no fees for Zelle. The difference was well over $200 so this is why they're getting three stars and almost got two. To start, The movers were fantastic…read more Here is my main issue. We discussed a payment of $169 per hour for a minimum of 3 hours. Fair enough. We weren't to hard on our movers and get them our in 2:15 total. The issue, upon payment it was brought up we needed to pay them for "double drive time". The person even brought up a California Labor Law website. The additional fee was $175, in cash which was shocking. It felt slimy in the moment and we were expected to just ante up $675 for 2:15. Double drive time implying they went from our old house to the new house. My question is, is that not the standard of moving (2 locations)? And why was this fee not brought to our attention during the initial conversations. I'm sure there is a email they send. But when you advertise $169 per hour with a 3 hour minimum, that was certainly the price we expected.

On the day of the move, Alex texted me that they were on their way and arrived exactly when he said they would. They were super professional and fast and I felt totally at ease with Alex and his crew. For my 2 bedroom move, they sent 3 movers with a huge truck. They had wardrobe boxes I could use for my clothes, which was much appreciated. They took apart things like my table, tv stand, book shelves, etc. and wrapped everything. I didn't need them to pack but I would trust them completely if I had. Very happy with this experience and I'd definitely recommend to anyone moving in the South Bay (Gardena/Torrance/Hawthorne). They never complained and kept pushing through. Jose was great at communicating too. And they ask questions instead of assuming, which I appreciate a lot. I just wish the scheduling person was as communicative as Jose. The scheduling experience was not great - the person on the phone kept mishearing me. I clearly told them my house has 2 bedrooms and a bonus room, but in reality they only planned for moving 1 bedroom, resulting in understaffing, which made me ended up paying more because of the long hours and overtime. The scheduling person didn't even get my name right...the scheduling experience was pretty bad. But the actual moving experience was good. I guess next time I will just have to be extra cautious with the scheduling office.
