Although there are televisions w/cable service in both bedrooms, we never watched as the scenery stole the show, as did the cow and calf moose walking past the place! We were a party of 4 adults (3 men, 1 woman) and the only things we cold come up with were to add a steamer basket and a garlic press to the kitchen amenities... A+++ place to stay! Will definitely stay again if/when we go to Homer, Alaska again!

Finding the office was a bit confusing but once we did find it there were two ladies in the office. One of them (older one) pretty much scowled at us while the other one (younger one) politely informed us that our room was not ready yet since we had arrived a bit early. She awkwardly asked if there was something we could do for an hour while the room was ready. We went about our way and while in the car I was thinking about this interaction (my first impression). My husband aaked "did you notice that lady was scowling at us?" And I said "yep, I don't know why. Maybe she didn't realize that she was doing that". We shrugged and decided to visited town while waiting on our cabin. We arrived later in the afternoon and were greeted by someone completely different. This time we were greeted by a very warm and cheerful couple whom I believe must be the owners. They were very welcoming and so helpful. The lower Moose Caboose was very homey and almost reminded me of a small studio or apartment. I thought it would be an actual Caboose but it wasnt. Despite this I was very pleased with all of the amenities. This place was nicely decorated and in great condition. The view was also beautiful! Overall we had a wonderfully peaceful time. Our warm greeting from the owners, and our experience with the cabin itself was a great experience. I'll definitely pass up the scowl any time :-) but would definitely return. The lower Moose Caboose is excellent for a couple looking for a nice, peaceful time in Homer. Definitely recommend!

The lodge is beautiful, Chef Julius is amazing and the staff could not have been more fun! Watching the otters and bald eagles from the deck was a daily must! And the sunsets...absolutely spectacular! They set us up for fishing with Captain Ron, who was not only a great wealth of information, but an all-around great guy! All fishermen/women in our group caught their limit each day! A few of us decided to do the Glacier Lake hike and loved it! What gorgeous views! Overall, the only thing we would change is coming home without Chef Julius! We became VERY spoiled by his cooking! If you're looking for adventure with all the amenities...try fishing, (there's also hunting and kayak/canoe rentals nearby), hiking or just relax at Cove Peaks Lodge. You will love the unbelievable views and delicious food!! Looking forward to going back next year!

The Redoubt cabin has a toilet in the main room with no walls, as in not a bathroom just a toilet. Augustine at least has nice views. An actual bathroom with a shower. Make shift curtains it looks like with towels and trash bags. Small but usable kitchen, we used the stove and toaster. They could use a pull out table from the wall because there isn't a lot of seating. Two fold up chairs were under the futon. It's priced appropriately but could use some easy updates.

A movie theatre that's so comfortable you will likely doze off... a candy room next door.. then a room with games and space and books and did I mention the views? I found a great deal of peace at this home and couldn't be more thankful for alteredself.com for bringing me to Alaska (I chose alaska for two reasons, this retreat and between beaches - don't go there as they lie about it all). In any event, I loved the spa area. They have the COOLEST pool and I had heard about them but wow... I will strive in life to have one! Treadmill, wave pool, swim assist and warm... steam room and sauna are amazing as well....next door is the Turkish bath that has jets and just beautiful natural surroundings... there was so much thought put into this home! Every space is wildly different but all just work so well together.. I loved all the different sinks... and I was almost getting bored at how perfectly done this place was that when I found a black splash I didn't like... darn it, I can't remember which room but it literally made me laugh out loud as I loved everything else about this place. Observation room is so relaxing! A Magical place that I can't wait to explore and will get there earlier so I can take more photos :)

BEWARE! Terrible…read moremanagement,cleaning and grounds crew My family stayed there with a wedding party a couple weekends ago. Lawn was overgrown the night before the wedding, the guests at the house mowed and raked the grass, even after the maintenance guy stopped by, who never offered to do it himself, no trimmer/weed whip. 4 kids cut their feet on a sharp drain in the pool, one getting a staff infection. Hot tub had cigar ash where a cigar was put out from the guests before. All the pool and hot tub water smelled terrible. If your having a wedding reception, expect a phone call at 10pm to shut your music off while having a dance out on the deck. To top it off management kept the bride and grooms deposit on a bunch of false accusations. Never an apology or explanation for any of the issues. This place is tens of thousands of dollars to rent for 4 nights. They are so off from classy management it's not even funny. House is cool though!

The staff is wonderful and very prompt with their responses. Our new plan had us staying in the Wolf Den. Upon arrival our suite was spotless and so so welcoming. The suite offers everything you need for a beautiful trip away from home. The yard just off of the suite allowed for our dogs to stretch their legs and have some fun as well. We will definitely be back and will recommend Kenai Peninsula Suites to anyone. The stay was exceptional and the view of Katchemak Bay was second to none. Thank you Kenai Peninsula Suites!!!
