We went to the glacier first thing and saw mountain goats and spectacular glacial views. It was absolutely breath taking! Eric provided excellent commentary throughout - telling us about the natural history, geography and events that shaped the area. When we stopped back in Homer to refuel his wife Kirsten joined us to see bears and she was such a pleasure, adding even more interesting bear facts! She helped us to spot some moose and some super cool bear dens. We got to see a lot of bears in lake Clark national park and had plenty of time to take stunning pictures. Eric went out of his way to accommodate our desires and we were able to skip the volcano (very cloudy today) and go to another spot for more excellent bear viewing! The scenery was breathtaking the whole day but the last spot was truly stunning! It will be something we will remember for the rest of our lives! Also, they provide everything you needed for the trip including waders and a delicious lunch, so all we had to do was enjoy our day! Truly a wonderful experience

The seats did need to have more leg space, but otherwise it was fine. BEARS OMG the bears were soooo cute! I wanted to boop them! There were bear paw prints on the sand as soon as we landed! Saw a total of 16 bears this day! One came within feets of us as we were heading back to the plane! Dave was afraid that the Rangers would give is grief, but all was good, the Ranger totally loved my hair LOLOL NEGATIVES The mosquitos! They were everywhere! I thankfully ordered a mosquito net prior to coming, they may look stupid, but I was spared for the most part! One did get me on the left hand, but to only have one was fantastic! But I can't put the mosquitos on Emerald's!

We were paired with a larger group, so we also kayaked with Jackson and Erin who were super friendly and helpful. Between our water taxi ride to base camp and our paddle to Halibut Cove, all three guides helped us spot bald eagles, sea otters, osprey and even sea stars. They each had kayaking tips and interesting nature wisdom to share. Emma even took photos of our whole group and sent them to us afterward. Once we landed on the beach at Halibut Cove, Emma sat and ate with us, telling us all about the hike we were about to embark on. She was originally from our neck of the woods and it was so nice to connect about other kayaking adventures we had each tried. She was a an absolute gem and we would be thrilled to kayak with her again.

Bonus that we got close up with bald eagles, puffins, sea otters, seals, and a black bear. Topped off the kayak with a short hike. Our only regret was not staying longer. Have you ever wanted to load into an old Cessna airplane, and crash land on an island inhabited by…read morelarge brown bears? Do you wish you could sneak over the fence at the zoo? If so, this tour is for you! Zack expertly flew us out to his secret spot, threading the needle between mountain tops and volcanoes to land us on a remote wilderness. We hiked over to a feeding hole and watched as the bears came in to cool down, fish and play. No one else was there with the visible bears well outnumbering our group 2 to 1. The bears came as close as 50' but Zack and Tim kept us calm. We stayed tight in our group and enjoyed the show. It was fantastic. We hiked back and found the planes and we were airborne before we could say "where is the runway?" Bears aside, it was a beautiful ride and amazing location. I can't wait to do it again.

He is a former wildlife and marine biologist, and knew a lot about the history of the area, something we were really interested in. We saw bald eagles, puffins, otters, seals and many other types of birds. Also got to visit Halibut cove and Gill Island. Glen also followed COVID-19 protocols, which was extremely important for us. A highlight of the trip was a great salmon dip that Glen had made for us, and also all the his stories. We would definitely recommend Glen if you want to do a wildlife tour in the Kachemak Bay from Homer.

Brad knew the names of all the beautiful volcanoes in the Aleutian range looming in the distance. We caught a lot of Halibut! The boat was pretty deluxe. I wanted to live on it. Brad filet'd the fish on the way back, and a fish processing boy was waiting for us at the dock. Getting the fish vacuum-sealed and frozen was a cinch! I'd definitely fish with Silver Fox again!
