Because of this, there's a great sense of community going on there, but new faces are always welcomed here too. I used to gig here in my younger years as mick and jackie had always been into music and promoting the local music scene. Quiz nights are always great fun and the service there is very quick. A really great place to go to and I think it caters for people who don't exactly feel accustom to gastro pub vibe. It's a very honest place with nice friendly people. The drinks were fine and not too pricey for the area. The staff were friendly and most important for us they were happy for us to bring our dog along. As it was a summers evening we sat outside on the picnic benches at the front of the pub. This also turned out to be the smoking area but as there wasn't anyone using it at the time that didn't bother us. Will certainly be heading back next time we are in the area.

The lounge bar is a bit less interesting, and it can be tricky to get served round there at times. As for beer, they sell Timothy Taylor Landlord, which alone is reason enough to be paying them a visit very soon indeed.
