Mike Dolge, Jason, and James helped us re-build the front half of the house to be a more open, larger feeling living area with clever and charming built-ins that add needed storage space while preserving flexibility. They were able to blend building back in some Craftsman detail with a more modern, lighter sensibility that makes it feel like we added SF. Of the many compliments that we've received, my favorite is "it looks like this is the way it was always supposed to be," even though it looks and feels very different. We are so pleased with how it came out. Mike is creative, an excellent listener and had many good suggestions as to how to improve the space in the way that we wanted in a cost-effective manner. Both Jason and James, who did the majority of the work, are highly skilled carpenters who care about quality. We're kinda particular (my husband is a designer), so they had to do alot of checking in with us and problem-solving to get what we wanted. The whole crew are nice guys who were kind to my children and careful with clean-up. They've done everything from show up on a weekend evening at my home to help trace the source of a leak/drywall damage to completely gutting and remodeling our four-unit apartment building. I've worked with every facet of their company - administration, project management, carpenters, painters, subcontractors, etc. I always go to Monet first because their quality and honesty are incomparable. And I've worked with many different types of contractors, for many projects, on many levels. Their communication is almost always excellent, so when delays happen or issues come up (because issues will come up, especially on large projects) I'm able to get answers on revised estimates and schedule impact. Monet is also excellent about billing to estimates and keeping to schedule as much as is within their control, especially if that's an important aspect of the project for you. Any issues I've had with Monet have been extremely minor and the owner, Dave, and his team have always been quick to respond to any concerns I have. Do I occasionally have to chase them for a response? Yes. Usually? No (and especially not on anything critical). Are they frequently busy, and it's sometimes hard to get on their schedule? Yes. However, I've learned to avoid contractors who are always readily available, no signs of busy-ness in sight. Because the good ones...yeah, they're hard to get a hold of sometimes because they're exactly that - good at what they do and, therefore, in high demand. On a final note - because of the sheer volume of work they've done for us, I've also been in the position to see what happens when things come up that need repair/attention months or even a year or more later. And consistent with their excellence and integrity, they've been right there to stand behind their work down the road.

I searched for other dry wall contractors on Yelp & found Matt with 5 stars. Matt not only answered the phone when I called, but came by the same morning to bid the job, which was less than $2k for 4 - 5 days. He started a week later. Matt was incredibly thorough. He sanded everything smooth & repaired all the sloppy work from the previous contractor. He got my feedback on texture & verified color before applying anything. He masked everything off, vacuumed up each day, & even emptied the medicine cabinet when dust started to get inside. He finished sanding & painting the kitchen ceiling that the last guy had left incomplete after mudding, which wasn't part of the original bid. And, he stayed a few hours after he'd given me his final invoice to touch up the botched job on my painted doors for no charge.
