Don't use RedCab. They cost way too much and they went back on a quote. I called them a day before I needed their services and was quoted $25 for a six mile trip. That is exceptionally high for a taxi ride. A 6 mile ride in New York City is $26.... this ain't NY. This is Lynden, Washington which made their quote exceptionally high BUT I was in a pinch and had no choice. I get back today and I find out they charged my son $35/each direction. They claim there is a minimum $35 charge... seriously? They failed to mention that. They said NOTHING about a $35 minimum and, like I said, this isn't New York. They should NOT be charging people that kind of money for just a six mile ride. I think they need to revisit their business. I do NOT recommend using these rip off people. They lied about their quote and took advantage of my son who was by himself just trying to get to work and back, and didn't know any better. Shame on them.. Shame!!! read more

We were landing at the Bellingham airport at midnight. I was concerned about available rides at that time of night, so I called Red Cab several hours before during our layover at SeaTac. Shawn promptly answered. I explained my situation and we arranged for a pick up. He asked that I call when our plane touched down. Again, he answered promptly and cheerfully said, "Well be there". Not only was the cab exactly on time, but he drove right up to the door and helped load two very heavy suitcases. Upon leaving the airport, he asked if we had a preferred route to our house. His driving was efficient and professional. When we arrived, the driver, once again, helped with the heavy luggage. He carried both suitcases up a flight of stairs and placed them directly in front of our door. The fare was less than I had guessed and the service was certainly more than I had expected. We are an elderly couple and all the "extra" considerations and help were greatly appreciated. I highly recommend! read more

I called Red Cab at 9:00am to let them know I would need a ride around 2:00pm home from the grocery store. I use Paratransit, and am not allowed to take more than 2 bags, so I have to pay for a taxi. I call at about 1:45pm and ask to get a ride home. I'm told there is no taxi in the area and it will be an hour. The power had gone out and I was upset that I would have to wait outside in the wind (gusts to 50) and cold for that long with my medical issues. I asked why they didn't have a taxi in the area sice I had called in the morning to tell them I would need a taxi around then. The lady on the phone was very rude and defensive, saying I hadn't made a reservation. I explained that that was why I called in the morning, and would have made a reservation at that time. I know I was angry, however she was going to not pick me up at all because I was saying it was her fault. I had to beg for the ride because I had no other way home. She was at fault though for not scheduling the ride I was requesting in the morning. read more

The day before our flight we were called by the owner I want to to be told that they were doubling the cost of the trip, and would not take us over the border as they had miss quoted the price. I was at the airport and my App said no Ubers were available. I looked up can fare online it said $50-$65 to my location. The cab driver said no it would be $100, He called his boss and she told him the same. I had no choice but to agree. He was very defensive and said he was just a minimum wage worker. He never started the meter. The posted rates for the can were 70 cents per 1/6th mile, so the fare should have been $75. I have worked in tourism for over 30 years, there is nothing more that can destroy repeat business then cab companies ripping people off. I paid the $100. Darren and his crew at Red Cab are truly great. Ride-sharing services have been hard on local companies such as this, but Red Cab has only upped their game and level of service. Since Covid, their drivers have added extra protection such as screen and gloves to protect themselves and their patrons. The employees are patient and helpful, I have used them to help senior citizens get rides and the drivers will assist loading and unloading items for them and make sure they get inside safely. The last thing I will say is this company is honest and will tell you if they are further away so you can make a decision to call someone else if necessary instead of making you wait. read more

I have a love/hate review for Red Cab. The service varies drastically with one experience being good and another experience being horrible. I called to schedule a ride to the airport and for an airport pick up when I returned from my trip. I called to confirm again, as they don't take your flight information or send you an email confirmation, so you can't trust you actually have a confirmed pick up. When I called about my pick up for my return ride home, they said it wasn't in the books, which makes me really not trust them. I called again from the airport in Seattle to confirm they would pick me up in Bellingham and left a vm, with no call back. I again had to call and spoke with a very rude and unprofessional man (Brian?) who clearly could care less about service or his job. Here's a tip Red Cab, if you want return business, don't be rude to customers who give you business. Confirm ride reservations, be nice, and answer your phone. I was getting dropped off before my trip at the airport and a gentleman walked over to the cab and said he tried calling to make a reservation but couldn't get ahold of anyone. The driver just struggled it off snd rolled up his window without saying anything. Why should anyone use your services??? This will be my last trip with Red Cab. This is a follow up review. I have been a client now for almost 2 years. Red cab is the best, all their drivers are friendly, polite and on time. Allen is my favorite driver, Diane and Makail are great too. The cars are clean and don't smell like smoke. Even when it is snowing they show up on time and get you to your destination. They will often wait for us if my Dr. appointment is less than 30 minutes, but even if they don't they usually send your pick up right away. read more

I had to catch a bus in Bellingham at 3:30 a.m. I made a reservation with Red Cab, but was worried that something would go wrong and I would be stranded, with the next bus not coming until that evening. Red Cab arrived early, putting my mind at ease, at least about that part of the trip. The bus station in Bellingham is in a pretty deserted area, and the actual terminal building was closed,. I had at least 40 minutes to wait for my bus. The cab driver stayed with me (with the meter off) until the bus rolled in, to make sure that I was safe. Many drivers would have simply dumped me out and left me there. I will definitely use Red Cab again if I'm ever in Bellingham. Oh, and the cab was really clean and the driver drove safely! read more

After having mixed experiences with other cab companies in the area, I decided to check Yelp for a better option. Red Cab Company has a perfect score, so they won my business. I was returning to Bellingham from SEATAC via the Airporter shuttle bus, and I needed a cab to take me and my bags the mile or so from the shuttle office on Iowa Street to my home. When the shuttle reached Burlington, I knew I would be back in BHam in 30 minutes. I found the Red Cab Co phone number prominently displayed on their website and called it to book my cab. The representative was soft spoken (almost like he had just woken up). He was kind, but also a bit casual in his interaction on the phone. Fortunately he was willing to book my cab for me, but only after he learned of my address, destination and pickup time. It seemed like the company was a small operation. He took down my phone number, name, current address and destination. A few minutes later, I received a call from an unknown number in BHam asking for a Hester or Lester. I think it may have been the driver or cab co calling for another fare that hadn't shown up yet. Again, it showed a level of chaos and disorganization that accompanies small businesses. My shuttle bus showed up about 5 minutes late. My Red Cab was already there waiting. The car was in good condition and easy to pick out because of the vibrant red paint. Despite the frigid temperatures, the driver was standing outside his driver's door. He verbally verified that I was his fare by confirming my destination, then he offered to help me with my bags. He loaded the two large bags (what can I say, it was after Christmas and my family loves me) into his hatchback. Oddly enough, he asked me what was the fastest way to get to my destination. I gave him directions. He had a headset on and was frequently engaged in other business calls which made it difficult to tell if he was talking to me or other clients. We made it safely to my home a few minutes later. The fare was $7. He took my bags out of the trunk and thanked me for my business. Even though it wasn't perfect, I would still pick this company over the other two outfits in town. Red Cab Co was prompt, courteous and the vehicle seemed to be in decent condition. read more

We took rides with this company about 6x during our Bellingham trip. They were great both over the phone and in person. One time they were about 15 min late but they did text us with the update, so we were prepared and our driver got us to our movie in the nick of time. The other 5 times they were always on time. And on the day we needed to go to the train station and it was vital they be on time, they actually showed up early. Quite impressed! They also text you with updates to let you know when your driver is 2 min away so you can be prepared. I needed to collect receipts and they can either wrote them out or email them to you. Our kids were returning to Canada via land border in Blaine, and we needed a cab to get them the final Kilometre to the actual border.(COVID-19 times). We set up a reservation with Red Cab for when the shuttle arrived. Shaun (the driver) contacted me just prior to the pickup time with very very helpful information on a better process to get the kids as close as possible (they had substantial luggage to carry) to the actual border. Without his help it would have resulted in the kids dragging their luggage well over half a kilometre. okay I so I took the taxi the Red cab from my place where I live to Kentucky Street which is 6.4 MI at $2.50 per mile my ride should not have cost more than $16 or thereabouts however when I turned on to Kentucky Street in the taxi the meter read $14 and then the driver made some motion and I heard a click I look back at the meter and it jumped to 25.60 cents so why did it jump all the sudden over $10 I asked the driver what just happened why did the meter just jump almost $11 and he acted like he couldn't hear me and I said excuse me I'm asking you a question I know you can hear me well he then finally said it's by the it's by the mile I said that's not what I asked you why did the meter just charge me an extra $11 and something and he never said another word wouldn't answer any more questions nothing so I feel like I got scammed by the fucking taxi driver or duped or whatever so I don't know I suppose I could call the supervisor and ask him why did that guy do that why did he charge me an extra $11 and something for the ride it shouldn't have been any more than the $16 or abouts..I used my debit card so i could file a claim on it. I feel i paid an extra $12 for the ride. I just needed to go from the airport to a nearby parking lot to pick up my car. Two different Red Cabs refused to take me, saying it was too close and they didn't want to lose their place in the airport queue. That was embarrassing and discriminatory...if I walk into a restaurant they don't refuse to serve me if I just order coffee. Fortunately there are two companies that are convenient, friendly, don't discriminate, and get rated, so they have an incentive to be friendly...Uber and Lyft. read more

I ordered a cab for 6 people to transport our group to my son's wedding. They arrived on time but there was no way a party of 6 adults could fit in the cab. I had stressed several times I needed a vehicle to hold 6. Fortunately, another guest at our hotel offered at the last minute to transport 2 of our group. Bill was our driver and he did a great job. After we were dropped off at the venue, one person in our group realized she left her phone in the cab. We quickly received a call that Bill would drop the phone off at our hotel, which was very kind. We intended to tip him generously for his extra effort. A little later I got another call from the cab company stating they needed $20 to drop the phone off. Understandable. I was prepared to immediately pay but the man who called me was driving and said he'd have to call me in 5 to 10 minutes. I advised him that my son's wedding was literally about to start and that I could not be available in 10 minutes. I told him I had 2 minutes right that moment or I could call in payment the next day. He kept talking and telling me he needed 5 to 10 minutes to pull over to take my payment. By this time I'm getting really frustrated because I could hear the music starting. No way was I going to be late to my son's wedding. Finally as I was getting really mad and promising I'd pay the next day, he stopped and was able to take payment. After my payment was accepted he kept me on the phone while he was sending the receipt to me. I finally said I have to go and literally ran into the wedding with seconds to spare. After they sent a vehicle we couldn't fit into, refusing to acknowledge the vehicle was too small, and then being so callous about a very important day, it was disappointing. Rachel has driven me at least 5 or 6 times. She is an exceptional, self-aware, safety-conscious driver - I always feel safe when she is at the wheel. In addition, she is a great human being. We didn't realize the local buses didn't run in Birch Bay on Sundays and ended up calling all the local taxi companies to see if any had a passenger van big enough to take our party of 8 down to the Bellingham Amtrak station (26 miles away). None of them had a passenger van big enough, but Darren from Red Cab was by far the most courteous and patient with all my questions. On top of various tips about our options, Darren offered us a break on a flat rate (since we would require 2 cabs). Our drivers, Rob and Diane, were both friendly and knowledgeable. I called early in the morning around 2:40am and their website stated that they are open 24 hours and I got a voicemail saying I would get a call back as soon as possible and to leave my address, phone number, and destination. My flight left at 6am and I did not receive a call back until 7am after my plane landed.
